Not too long o ....... That £5 then, was equally as worthless now ............. grin

I don’t think so, that £5 got you to where you are today. There used to be a time not too long ago you could fill up a Tesco grocery trolley with £5.

Read their reviews on trust pilot, I wish I did. I am now dragging them for my refund because flight times was changed. I had to go straight to the airline website to book my rebook flight. I would never use them again. Their customer service is mediocre.

Hi, can someone please run me through the process of buying a land and building a house in the UK

Or is it not possible?

Very possible and cheaper than buying your house. You will need planning permission and every stage needs to be passed by building regulations, you will also need approval from the utility companies, legal and survey fees will be more expensive than the actual building. You can’t do Nigerian short cut or you will have to take it down. The bank will approve a loan for you based on the valuation on ground so you might have to be getting top ups with every stage.

For Nigeria, our independence na only on paper. We have not been really free

I wonder ooh!! they should sort out their own chaotic government before poking their nose where it’s not wanted, Nigeria is the way it is because of them. Lumping people with little or nothing in common together.

You cannot force someone to be a witness, I don't think the court can force someone to be a witness either. The person can as well appear in court and say he didn't see or hear anything even if he had earlier said he saw something.

I’ve seen it happen. Also lying under oath is a punishable offence.

Next time close mouth and move on....

I think going to the police station is fine to let them know your not comfortable and let's see what they will do.

It’s too late he has already opened his mouth. If he doesn’t go he will be found guilty of contempt of court ( legal gurus please feel free to correct me). If he goes he could be putting his life and family in danger. So he is stuck between the devil and the deep blue sea. If you want to look on the what is the right thing to do. If people don’t come forward how can crimes be solved? If you or your family were involved, you would hope that an eye witness would come forward, in order for justice to be served

He could be subpoenaed or forced to give evidence. It’s like a court order.

Telling the agent that I am not renewing at the end of the contract does not suffice as notice?
This response was sent to them on October, that is like 2 months notice or it must come with the word NOTICE

Yes it has got to be a written notice.

Thank you for your advise but I said an not renewing based on the fact that I am moving to a different city.Infact these agent seems out to frustrate themselves and not me.I have told them them am leaving on Dec 17 but they say I have to give the notice and stay till Jan17.
I have also tried to reach out if we can reach a common ground but it's all brick wall.I have started paying rent in the other city as I secured the accommodation and so I need this resolved and they are not forthcoming.
Also sent mail and no response.I just don't want any litigation as I don't have money for that one month. How else can one resolve this please
Or anyone that knows a good property solicitor which can help me write this agency people for a fee.i will like to engage such solicitor.i don't like the way the agent is keeping quiet on my numerous communication.it sickening to be sending mails to an organization and they are keeping mum like ...don't pay and see what we will do.
Elders please help

You have got to give at least 1 months notice, there’s no way around it.

Hello guys, after officially sending my resignation and sighting issues of bullying, harassment and threat by the company, I got this mail from the MD who is the husband of the madam. I have gone through the contract over again and the only clause that talks about 4 weeks notice prior to resignation is if the employee has passed the 3 months probation and I am only 2 months old with the company.

How should I respond?

Threatening not to pay you for hours worked is bullying and unprofessional and also illegal.

Advise needed please. I am begining to understand why most Nigerians here don't want to accomodate newcomers who are Nigerians. I accommodated a guy who is becoming difficult for me to handle just because I don't like w
Please I need advise to handle this maturedly. Since he came none of his people called to say 'thank you' not even his girlfriend that we know. But I don't care at all as all I want is for him to leave as I don't want to continue to sacrifice the comfort of my family to someone who is unappreciative.

Are there still people like you? Someone who said he doesn’t travel with luggage? You should listen to your wife, What I would have done is rented Hotel for him or AirBNB for one week after that he finds his way.

If you had said exactly this I could have appreciated your genuine concern. But you slighted the list of accountancy bodies in the UK and mention even a lower technician body but left CIMA which is one of the biggest body in the whole world out. Probably you noticed I said I was CIMA qualified.

Bros, we are not kids so let’s stop side stepping conversation. Let’s be genuine in our conversations.

Thank you

I always used to think that CIMA was more management accounting and can be restrictive, most studied by those accountants who worked for the council. please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.

Hello Ancestors,
Please help
I have a tenancy agreement of 6 months renewable every six month.sometimes in October ,agent sent me mail for renewal to which I told them that am not signing another six month because I may be moving out.The contract expires on 17th December,Am I still supposed to give any notice as I am moving out on expiry. The agency are saying I should give one month notice and that means one month payment which I thought is not required at expiration of contract.Pls help me understand what I should put thro to landlord or agent ooo.

TIA

Just let it go into a rolling contract which means you and your landlord give 1 and 2 months notice respectively.

Any individuals, whether employees or self employed can claim allowance regarding their mortgage interests; it all depends on how they have arranged their property acquisition to capture this tax benefit.

But be assured that the mortgage interest benefit can be claimed by both employees and self employed.

I believe there is also a sting to this benefit when you come to sell your property. You will have to pay capital gains tax on that percentage as it will not be treated as residential. So most accountants don’t advise their clients to do this as the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.

Most of this stealings happening in Europe especially pocket picking, luggages and bags snatching and passport thiefs are mostly been done by the Africans themselves.

And the Nigeria government needs to do proper investigation on the matter, because most of all this traveling agents do conspire with others to seize the passport of their clients.

This is not true, there’s very high pick pockets in Barcelona and London and it’s mostly done by Eastern Europeans especially Romanians.

Maybe cheesy Seems this Londoners are just drunkards

It’s called socialising, nobody forced anyone to drink. You just use sense to follow these people so you wouldn’t be tagged as antisocial. I could be nursing the same glass of wine for the evening or even have sparkling water and lime which will look like a gin and tonic.

Ahahah, this is very relatable, I will ask myself shey na work we come do or chop and flex,Seriously they work smart and play hard, we have been watching all World Cup matches in the office , if you see our kitchen with food, fruits and edibles, I will just be thinking and crying silently of my working experience in Nigeria, Every Thursdays is Drink night at my office too, Fridays for bonding night, we chose an activity we do which can be indoor or outdoor, Last Friday was Axe Throwing which I never did in my life, we ended up in a club, I had to run home to meet my family, we spent not less than 800£, Sometimes I wonder they make profit with all of their expenses.

It seems as if you are describing my work place, every Thursday is “Thirsty Thursday”. Are you sure we don’t work for the same company? grin grin

It is unfortunate, in Nigeria we are eating everything as ponmo. The money we could have made is going into our stomach

Nigeria is a failed state and it’s government has failed its citizens gravely. There’s no plan for the future I wish most citizens of Nigeria will get the opportunity to travel out side of the country to see how things are done , maybe they will hold the leaders to account.
