Anyone is free to make his or her conclusions based on posts here I dont believe a lot of what is said here anyway People have e reputations to uphold bukatyne: Oh well!
Most of the guys on NL pride themselves on being born cheats, wife first to greet etc.
Should we say most of them are just trying to spice NL or are they really serious and camouflage with good person persona outside their homes?
Afteral, most wife beaters do not beat their colleagues |
Family › Re: Family Dilemma: Housewife Or Working-wife? by pickabeau1: 4:24pm On Aug 12, 2014 |
This post has to be commended and is against the mainstream view here that all naija guys are devils This is why i find it absurd that some posters use NL posts as an indicator of Nigerian males Its really weird aisha2: [/b] Most of those responses are from teeangers still struggling with JAMB most Nigerian men hardly have time to stay on line and be answering "What If" questions, with traffic, school fees, projects, work, deadlines and spending time with family they are really too busy. Nigerian men can work sha. Some of the men on nairaland do not represent Nigerian men sorry to say. A lot of them just talk and argue for talking sake and may not even be ready for marriage in the next 5 years neither do they understand what marriage means and entails. A while ago I had to beg for MEN to speak up and stop scaring single women here with the kind of things some of them say, so dont get carried away by what you read here after all am sure around you there are more good men than bad, just that its the bad ones we get to hear about.
Most couples I know who decided to do this talked extensively and agreed on this. For those domineering men, women who have a mind should not marry them, let them marry the ones who are okay with having their decisions made for them. |

Godmystrength: Means i am owing no tithe?? Means what it means... Make the interpretation yourself Search why you are giving and if its due to compulsion or fear of 'curses' you know the motive.... If it is due to holy conviction and it 'just' happens to ten percent.. good enough 2 Cor 9: 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. However a person who cannot take care of his home is worse than an inidel 1 Tim 5. 8 |

Godmystrength: Lol. I paid the debt and even the unplanned debt(for baby's hospital bills which even came before salary was paid) and nothing was even left for transport. I had to get a soft loan from a colleague in the office to cover for my transport fare.
I still don't know if it is a sin, but i have spent it so to speak. Gal 3: 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole." |

I feel you... its really gets saddening at times though MizMyColi:
In the bigger picture, I mean, in a sense of complete overhaul, No @TheEmboldened.
But, when we talk of being practical, when we talk of being change @ the unit level, then these (as previously mentioned) and could massively and positively affect the bigger picture.
Good points you've raised on here, I think that a huge majority of us has accepted mediocrity as standard hence this issues continue to plague us daily.
I've had to consciously subject myself to keep quiet whenever PHCN power supply is restored, (I still falter attimes though) Like seriously, where is it done in any part of the world? "UP NEPA!!!!!!!!!" and even if there are, are those countries in anyway at par with our Nigeria?
I could go on and bullet list everything I think that's gone wrong with our nation and her leaders. But how does that help us move forward? What difference does it make really? Except of course, showing how proficient I am at use of English
That's why I decided to do the best I can within my sphere of influence and hope for some ripple effect of sorts.

Very nice but are these nation changing? Thats the major issue imo If we all pay taxes to a corrupt government what will be the benefit We provide scholarships to people, and there are no jobs.. whats the benefit Also, MzColi.. I think we deserve the leadership we get.. the honest ones dont get there and we collect rice, garri to vote the criminals MizMyColi:
Well, first off, we could start by stuffing our pure water satchets and/or table water containers in our bags or neatly fold them (in the case of pure water) in our pockets until we reach the next available thrash can, instead of throwing out of our car windows. [This applies to other forms of polyethylene wraps: gala, coconut chips, plantain chips etc.]
Secondly, lets obey traffic rules, whether or not yellow fever (that's what we term traffic officers in Lagos) is there to threaten/arrest.
Thirdly, we need to begin seeing as ourselves as people of great value, an exceptional race, we need to let that reflect in our dressing, our speech pattern, and more especially, in the way we treat ourselves. That way, people and indeed the world at large would have no option than fall in line.
Fourthly, If there's a notification on a wall or beatified landscape that reads: "Post No Bill" - then please, no matter the dire need for population in our business place, churches, mosques, or even political rallies; Please! do not post that bill
These are the few I could think of for the time being, I've reduced it to very basic everyday activities that almost everyone can relate with. I'd like to glean from your views too |
Dating And Meet-up Zone › Re: The Dome by pickabeau1: 8:11am On Aug 12, 2014 |
LOL.... I am not challenging more like probing.. But jokes apart also, I would like practical things one can do to further this nation Can we discuss this MizMyColi: You see Beau, you have a way of challenging my English Senses early in the morning (its usually slow).
Jokes apart though, Yes We Can. Anything, Not "Somethings" are possible to Him that believes. For As a man thinketh (or keeps thinking) in His heart, so is He.
These are not just scriptures, they are truths (absolute maybe).
The major obstacle we need to overcome here, among other factors militating against us is our inability to #Believe.
Its always easier said than done. Despite my position, that we are the change Nigeria needs, Do I really #Believe? (That I, am the change this country needs )
Personally, I've made it a part of my daily confessions and it goes thus: "I am the change that my world needs".
Life is what we make it, our thoughts and our words are the forming forces.

MizMyColi: I don't think so joor not until we realize that we as individuals, are the change our Nigeria needs and then, start acting in that capacity. I like the sentiments expressed in this words but can we be pragmatic What can we do at the citizenry |
