Many people were left stunned yesterday after veteran Nigerian musician Daddy Showkey called out musical twin, Mamuzee for neglecting their mother for 17 years.

The very angry Daddy Showkey took to social media to call out singing duo, Mamuzee twins, for neglecting their mum until she died recently at Igando General Hospital in Lagos only for them to rush to social media to mourn her.

Daddy Showkey's allegation was recently backed by the sister of the twin, Augusta who is also the last child of the family.

Augusta, who was present during the old woman’s final hour, told Saturday Beats that their mother’s death was caused by the singing twins.

Augusta didn't stop at that as she also claimed the wives of the Mamuzee twin were also at fault for the neglect. She was quoted saying;

Tony and Andrew killed our mother. It is Mary and Martha that are doing this to them. All is not well, I saw what they posted on Instagram about our mother’s death. They do not even have her recent picture except the one I sent when our mother was in a coma.

The picture that they are posting online is the one my mother took after we just returned from Ghana in 1985.

Little is known till date about the wives of the Mamuzee twin. The two identical men got married to identical twin ladies named Mary and Martha.

The story behind the choice of their wives too is intriguing, as they said they made up their minds to get married to twins while in the secondary school. Andre said;

“When we were quite younger, we used to date different girls. Can you imagine, you are in the room with a girl and she is looking at you askance, asking if you are sure you are Akpos or Andos? It was crazy.

“Later, we actually wanted to get married to one girl, but it didn't work out and we then opted for twins. That is the fun of it, and in our house, there is no sadness.

Two sisters from the same house, there is no quarrel, no problem. We are both expectant fathers and we pray that when the children come, they will not be asking who their father is between us.”

The Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar-led National Convention Committee (NCC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday paid an inspection visit to the Eagle Square, Abuja,venue of tomorrow’s elective convention of the party.

Workers were seen decorating the venue with various objects that depict the colours of the ruling party. The convention stage and ballot boxes stands were being erected when the NCC team was moving around.Workers were also busy cleaning delegates and VIP sections at the venue.

Security personnel from various agencies,including the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps manned various locations at the venue. Security had been beefed up ahead of the convention expected to host about 6,800 delegates from the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), who would decide the fate of the contestants for the various offices.

The issue of sharing of properties cannot come in except the wife claims that as a relief in her answer to the petition for dissolution of marriage.
The law assumes that settlement of property and maintenance is an ancillary relief which a man owes his wife if he files for divorce.


For example a man file for divorce after 20years of marriage to his wife.

The law assumes he's the one filling for divorce after she has given him 20 years of her life. She may even throw in how she supported him(even if it's not financial support) and performed wifely duties to him. The law assumes the man can't leave her with an uncertain financial future (I still don't know whether this implies if the woman is rich.. didn't see anything like that though) after she spent two decades building his.

If she claims for settlement of properties in the marriage, the judge usually would look at the circumstances of the case and facts supplied to reach a decision on what to give her.
Judges have a wide discretionary power to settle matrimonial properties as it deems just to do so.

The judge has a discretion to award reliefs sought by parties in a divorce proceeding, according to the facts and circumstances of the case at hand.
If she specifically ask that she shares in the matrimonial properties and the facts and circumstances makes it justifiable that she does deserve a share, the court will order that.

The law doesn't care about who owns what or what anyone brought into the marriage.

The court can order settlement I. e share any property belonging to any of the parties on the request of the woman.

Nigerian law considers marriage as a partnership.

The law assumes when the partnership finally end, nobody leaves empty handed except the woman didn't specifically ask for anything.

The Catholic community in Igbo – Ukwu village, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State - has been thrown into mourning again after losing another parish priest to the cold hands of death. The deceased identified as Reverend Father Christopher Azolibe, was the Catholic parish priest of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, the foremost Catholic community in Igbo-ukwu town.

Until his death Fr Azolibe also served as the Dean of the Igbo-ukwu Catholic Deanary and also Chairman of ICCPC.

Mixed feelings have continued to rise over the death of the priest as it was revealed that this is the third catholic priest to die this year 2108 after the Christian community in the town carried out a crusade that led to burning of shrines on December 29th, 2017. Their deaths were happened within a space of six months.

According to reports, the traditionalists in Igboukwu threatened a showdown with the Catholic Church earlier this year over the destruction of about 15 shrines and ancient artifacts in the community.

They specifically fingered Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (Ebube Muonso), the spiritual director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke for orchestrating the destruction during his December 29, 2017 crusade at Central Primary School Field, Igboukwu.

The traditionalists had received information that the priest was coming for community "cleansing" and had written to the Parish Priest of the host church, urging the parishioners to steer clear of their religious sites.

The Kogi state government obtained loans of at least N16 billion between May 2017 and January 2018, TheCable can report. This is despite over N20 billion which accrued to the state from the Paris Club refund.



Kogi also benefitted from the bailout which the federal government gave to states.
However, documents seen by TheCable showed that the state house of assembly approved loans of N12 billion and another 1.2 billion on December 5, 2017. Still in December, the government borrowed a separate N1.2 billion from Fidelity Bank Plc.



Documents show that Kogi got another loan of N3.5 billion on January 31, 2018.
On March 20, 2018, the state treasury quarters issued an irrevocable standing payment order (ISPO) to Zenith Bank to make monthly deductions of N236,892,000 from its Lokoja bank account over a period of 18 months, as repayment of the N3.5vbillion loan which was said to be used for budget implementation.



Kingsley Fanwo, Bello’s spokesman, was not available for comments when this report was filed as as his telephone line was switched off.

One Muhammed Adamu, the suspected killer of 24-year-old Hauwa Muhammad, has been arrested by police operatives. The Yobe Commissioner of Police(CP), Abdulmaliki Sumonu told newsmen in Damaturu on Tuesday that Adamu, who is about 30 years old, has made a confessional statement.

The suspect was brought to the press conference.

The CP then allowed the suspect to narrate how he committed the murder to the press.

The suspect said: “My name is Muhammed Isa Adamu from Potiskum LG. I started dating Hauwa since 2014. She was obedient to me. She never offended me. “I have been abusing drugs for almost five years. I even went to Azare General Hospital to seek medical advice in order to get rid of my addiction.

“Eventually another guy started dating her. That was the beginning of our problem. She told me that if my family could not meet hers, I should allow the other guy to do so. “Apart from that, there was no problem between the two of us”, Adamu added

“One day I didn’t know what happened to me, I took my “Exol” and decided to end the lives of both of us. I killed her alone with a knife”, Adamu said. “I equally wanted to kill myself. May her soul rest in peace: she stopped me from doing that. While she was bleeding, she said I should not kill myself.

“She further advised me, before she bled to death, that I should repent and seek Allah’s forgiveness. I then promised her not to kill myself and that I will report myself to the police. “Which is why when the DPO ‘C’ division called me, I reported at once”, the suspect said.

Adamu said that he was a fresh graduate from Federal College of Technical Education, Potiskum, affiliated to Federal University of Technology Minna.
