FamilyRe: In Response To A Previous Thread Created By Amara Okafor by PierreAbutu(m): 12:47pm On May 08, 2018
goldcrossxx:
Greetings All,

To all that followed and commented on the thread created by “amaraokafor”, i decided to create a new thread for this as per the advice of a Nairalander. The below is the thread link and also my response.

https://www.nairaland.com/4484675/should-continue-wait-date-another#67236204

I have been following this thread on proxy and never wanted to comment because, i don’t believe in seeking emotional advise from a Public forum due to the fact that many advisers may be underage, inexperienced and would advise you based on what they have read from one party.

The young lady in question comes from a family of 2 girls and 4 boys of which she’s the 1st daughter and the 2nd is as well single. The relationship is also not 3 yrs as she indicated but was suppose to be exactly 2 yrs on the 1st of May.

A new relationship is always very sweet but the challenges that will follow is what matters most because relationship itself is filled with uncertainties just the same way as life. The way a relationship is handled is what justifies what the outcome would be.

The lady in question is nice and as humans, we all have our flaws. Yes, i am a very quiet and reserved person that hardly go out so it’s safe to say that i am an introvert while she’s not that type. I won’t completely analyze everything and what caused it but i will try within my capacity to disclose some so that those that gave their one sided advise can rethink again.

I am not a married man, as a matter of principle and respect to whoever i am involved with, i don’t double date. My problem with the lady in question was bourne out of the fact that she was disrespectful to me several times, domineering, unstable in the relationship and sometimes blackmail me to achieve her desires and a lot more. Those were what caused our problems from the first few months of my involvement with her. Several reasons may have prompted her actions but i don’t see it as being enough for someone you genuinely love.

I told her from the 1st 3 months of knowing her that marriage is what i want and she agreed accordingly. She met with my family, i met with the parents and made my intentions known to them in less than a year of relationship commencement. In fact if not for the financial challenge due to wrong projection of business dealings, marriage would have happened 2 or 3 months after.

Before i met with her family, she ended the relationship twice and threatened that she will proceed with the next man available that love is not a criteria for her in marriage. After i met with her parents, she did same to the extent of giving me a deadline that if i don’t fulfill her rites, i should go my way which she executed her threats. I will be begging for her not to leave, the mother will beg, the father will also talk to calm her down, people from my side sef the same thing. I HAVE NEVER ENDED MY RELATIONSHIP WITH HER even when i had reasons to have done so but she has done so numerous times.

I later spoke with the Dad and told him that immediately finances arrive, i will come in to do the needful. The man told me no problem that he understands the economic situation and once i am ready, i should come in. But my woman was still not stable as it was one issue after another. The same woman that told me when love they sweet that, she would stand by me through thick and thin but when water pass garri, she said NO that it’s only in marriage.

Already people close to me that knew me and her already were concerned about her actions, the way she talks to me, etc and majority told me outrightly to withdraw. I never did but believed she was going to change. As a concerned man, i do sometimes meditate because no responsible man wants to end up with a woman that doesn’t respect her man and can easily be unpredictable in her actions.

I commend her though for her sacrifices. She rejected a guy that had cash, built house and was relatively very comfortable because i knew him. In fact, at a point it was like a competition and my blood pressure was affected when the guy was policing her bumper to bumper since they lived in the same state.

To cut the story short, after several happenings resulting to series of emotional injury, she apologized that she won’t disrespect me again and even knelt down when we finally met to beg and i accepted. Weeks later, she wanted us to meet but i wasn’t chanced to see her and told her i will let her know when i am free. During this time, i was observing her actions but she got upset and told me she doesn’t want the relationship.

I called to resolve the issue but she wasn’t forth coming. Relationship or marriage ooo she said she’s not doing again. I informed the parents and they said it’s not the first time that i should remain calm. I kept calling for resolution in the month of November, December(she only agreed to see me once and her actions weren’t the lady i used to know), January and February but still no show.

Note: Her words to me when she responded was that she can ONLY be my friend that if i don’t want friendship, i should go my way and if i continue to disturb, she will block me. Also note that my finances started picking up late last year and improved early this year to the glory of God.

I continued to beg through the mum till i stopped after realizing that it was stupid of me to have done so. Reason being that i won’t marry the mother and she as a matured lady has the final say to this. I am a principled man and she knows this because Rome wasn’t built in a day. But as a man, i cannot subject myself to all those shenanigans which has always being the problem from the onset. What you beg to enter, you beg to sustain.

So the relationship officially was 1 year and 6 months when she ended it. It was the aspect of reconciliation that kicked off just last month. So my people, even though me i dey sometimes hide inside my shell, i hardly go out at night and i also admit that i can stay for a while without seeing her, but the 4 months is not justified here. Is it not one that you have a relationship with that you can see?

My write up isn’t to castigate her person and it’s also never to praise myself. Seeking emotional advise on Nairaland isn’t my thing but i felt i should throw some light as this will also aid others that wishes to give advise before doing so.

Remain blessed all and excuse my typos.

All traditional and Quasi-political leaders to stop receiving COWS AND MONEY FROM FULANIS IN AND AROUND THEIR DOMAIN
Investigative journalists have chatted with them and reveaaled that they feel they are entitled to land for their cattle because they have 'purchased' it with money and cows given to the aforementioned group

According to them, they kill because their agreement with the so-called leaders were breached, even when the murdered victims were not privy to this 'agreement'.

Pls warn your leaders.....if you know any who has collected or is about to collect, let him refund their money and cattle immediately

so who are you voting for ?
Since independence and attainment of democracy, we've been plagued by old leaders
That's why I believe now is d time to make a switch

SOWORE has my vote come 2019
Why,
because he is not only young,
but has a clear-cut agenda and blueprint for achieving his electoral promises,
he has no legal baggage to pull him down,
he is not supported or financed by anyone,
all his electoral promises are not only logical, but are with time-frames,
he is not a member of AMORC, OGBONI, FREEMASON, ROSCICRUCIAN ORDER etc. as most of our politicians are
he is the only one who has promised to seal up our land borders to check insurgency in a bid to checkmate fulani herdsmen
Another hausa/fulani President would simply continue with the MODERN JIHAD / ISLAMISATION AGENDA going on......go and ask Turkish citizens

Let me add, He hasn't given me money or any material thing
and
IT IS INSANITY TO KEEP DOING THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND EXPECT A DIFFERENCE RESULT........cheers

This is why he has been quiet over the Fulani Herdsmen killings

The truth is gradually revealing itself
PoliticsGowon Signed Off Nigeria To Fulanis During Civil War –ikedife by PierreAbutu(op): 10:26pm On May 06, 2018
A former President-General of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, spoke with OKEGWO KENECHUKWU on sundry issue. Excerpts:

What should be the expectation of Ndigbo as President Muhammadu Buhari prepares to run for a second tenure?
This raises a question whether the Igbo should support Buhari to win so that in 2023, Ndigbo will have an indisputable right to field a candidate for the Presidency or they should allow him to be defeated by perhaps another Northerner, who will be there for another eight years and that will cancel the chances of a candidate from the South East in 2023.
Another important question is what do those in Biafra land want. Is it Nigerian presidency or self-determination or the actualisation of Biafra. That is an issue that has to be resolved. These are the questions to be answered with as much rationalisation and logic as possible.

Who among the Igbo would answer these questions?
It is a difficult one. You will notice that if any group comes up to talk, another group will stand up and discredit it. It makes the thing look cacophonic. There is a disharmonious communication. One person will say one thing, another person will counter it and say a different thing.
A case in point to illustrate what I’m saying is what happened recently. The President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, got a report that the youth wing of Ohaneze had sacked him. What did he do? What is their locus for saying that? Is it the tail wagging the dog or the dog wagging the tail? All these kinds of situations are proofs of what I’m saying. The Igbo have to get their house in order. The people of Biafra land should get their house in order.

We have Alaigbo Development Foundation, South East Elders Forum and Even the Supreme Council of Indigenous People of Biafra, apart from Ohaneze Ndigbo. Which among these groups is qualified to address the issues?
Of course, they are all qualified. They are all legitimate Igbo organisation working for the interest of the Igbo people.

What is your own perception of the declaration of President Buhari to contest in 2019 ?
These are issues that have to be balanced. Buhari has every right to contest, if he so wished. It is for the Nigerian electorate to decide whether he deserves a second tenure or not. There is a school of thought in assessing him, I think judging from the way he ran the first four years; the suffering of people of the South East and the cry of marginalisation, another four years will make it appear like 40 years of neglect and marginalisation of the whole of South East.
The reference point is the reaction to the so-called Fulani herdsmen’s sacking of villages, communities and towns, planting themselves and carrying dangerous weapons without licences.

Why do you think the Fulani herdsmen attacks have continued unabated?
Now, it is understood that certain things happened during the Nigeria-Biafra Civil War. Biafra declared its independence on May 30, 1967 and the then Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon who was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, said he was declaring a war against Biafra and expected that it would last for few weeks. He then underated the resistance and resolve of the Biafrans.
When the thing did not end in three weeks as he expected, he engaged mercenaries who came and fought, took their money and left. But Biafrans did not surrender. Then he was told that the Nigerian troops could take Port Harcourt, that so long as PortHarcourt was in Biafra land, Biafra will not cave in. To reach Port Harcourt, he apparently signed an agreement with the people of Cameroon that they should allow him access through Bakassi area to Port Harcourt and at the end of the war Cameroon should take Bakassi. That was done.
He signed that agreement as Nigeria signing away part of Biafran land while at that time Biafra was a sovereign state of its own recognised by some countries and Nigeria should have no legal right to sign away any part of its land. Notwithstanding, Biafra did not fall.
Gowon was said to have obliged to enlist help from Muslim soldiers from other West African countries where a good number of them came to help fight and decimated Biafra to bring it back to Nigeria. The condition for that service was that they would be allowed grazing rights all the way down Eastern Region, that was agreed.
And it appeared that looking back after the war, Cameroon claimed Bakassi and sacked natives of Bakassi who said they were Nigerians. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo as at that time took the case to the International Court of Justice (ICC) which ruled against Nigeria.
Similarly, Fulani herdsmen from neighbouring countries are of the assertion that based on the agreement with the Nigerian government during the civil war, they will graze their cattle at any place they want. And they now have the temerity to sack villages, communities and towns. And when they do, they just set up their homes and it appears that Buhari’s hands are tied because of that agreement allegedly signed by Gowon.

Is there no way the agreement could be reversed?
The legal questions is: Did Gowon have the right to sign away Biafran land, if he did that, when Biafra was standing as a sovereign state? Did he consult the people of Biafra then? Did any of them join in signing? Did he get their consent before signing it? If he did not consult the people of Biafra, is that agreement legitimate, is it binding? These are questions that deserve resolution by a court of
law.

PoliticsRe: May 1st: A Date With Senator Ahmed Makarfi In Kaduna by PierreAbutu(m): 4:57pm On May 05, 2018
TonyeBarcanista:
Arrival/Journey To Kaduna
It all started on Monday, April 30 when I arrived the city of Kaduna ahead of a 2-Day meeting of Nigeria Youth Project for National and Zonal leaders scheduled for Tuesday May 1st, being Worker's Day and Wednesday May 2nd.

While on the journey to Kaduna, I deliberately initiated conversation with co-passengers on the situation of Nigeria with respect to 2019 Presidential election without unveiling my identity. Upon setting the ball rolling, passengers were divided into three camps; pro-Buhari/APC camp, pro-PDP camp and a 3rd camp of anyone but Buhari (ABB)

Three Camps, One Goal
The pro Buhari camp loathed PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) for perceived (or real) corruption associated with it and for the perceived (or real) integrity/Anti-corruption demeanor of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The pro-PDP camp loathed the ruling government for allegedly impoverishing Nigerians, deception, ethnoreligious bias and misgovernance. They believe only PDP have what it takes to beat Buhari. Though I belong to this camp, yet I concealed my preference so as to be able to appeal to peoples conscience without being seen as partisan.

The third group of people, consisting of "Anyone but Buhari" (ABB), had people that do not care about political parties but only care about project Nigeria. They were tired of Buhari due to his alleged many failings and disappointment just as they expressed disappointment in PDP. Ironically, they were aloof on what to do to change the situation for the better.

Each three camps were however interconnected by a single vision, the advancement of Nigeria state and better living for citizens.

Highlighting The Profiles/Antecedents Of Major Presidential Aspirants
I took the discussion floor to highlight gains and failings of Buhari government, those of past PDP administrations prior to the coming of Buhari, and thereafter proceeded to reel out the profile, performance and antecedent of major Presidential aspirants, including, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Senator Ahmed Muhammed Makarfi, President Muhammadu Buhari, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, Senator David Mark and Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo.

A Common Ground Reached
After my sermon, it was surprising that all three camps had a common ground in Senator Ahmed Makarfi.

To the Buharists, "since Makarfi has nothing to do with corruption and he's not been indicted nor placed under trial "like others", he's a better candidate."

The PDP camp acknowledged Makarfi for his exploits as Governor and party leader, though some expressed concern about his relative visibility in the public, they still agreed that he is the best chance for Buhari to be kicked out of power.

To the camp "ABB", for the fact that Makarfi is not an ethnoreligious champion and he has history of working with smart young people, they will look no further in the search for ideal leader, but will align with Makarfi.

Experience In Kaduna State
Upon arrival to Kaduna state, I observed beautiful faces, lovely and hospitable people, hardworking and accommodating citizens, and I felt at home immediately. I realised that the unfortunate, divisive, bitter and evil government of Nasir Elrufai does not represent the true character of Kaduna people. I pray they correct the anomalies in 2019 Gubernatorial election.

[b[May 1st Meeting With Senator Ahmed Makarfi[/b]
On Tuesday May 1st, delegation of Nigeria Youth Project which included the National Coordinator and Team leader, Hon Bobai Victor; Deputy National Coordinator, Hon Job Tsegha; the National Secretary-General (yours faithfully), Hon Inioribo Tamunotonye; the Southeast zonal Coordinator, Ambassador Nnaemeka StClement; Mrs Zainab Al-Amin of the Northwest; Hon Akinola Adewunmi of Southwest; Toba Owojaiye of Northcentral; Comrade Ogidi Lawrence, who represented Northeast Coordinator, Mr. Dennis Shima JP, numerous representatives of affiliate groups that collapsed into the Nigeria Youth Project, including Movie Actors, Music and film producers, Young Leaders Forum, IRep Nigeria group, students and several others, all went to the Kaduna residence of His Excellency, Sen Ahmed Makarfi on a private visit to communicate the resolve by Nigeria Youth Project that he join the 2019 Presidential race as the most credible alternative and most experienced leader for Nigeria.

My humble self in my capacity as the National Secretary outlined the position of the Nigeria Youth Project and emphasised on how we arrived at our position after citing his antecedents all through his public service years with an impeccable record of high integrity, financial manager, public administrator.

Leaders of all the geopolitical zones, students, movie and music producers group, IRep Nigeria group and other affiliate groups of Nigeria Youth Project took turns to convey the position of their respective jurisdiction, but aligning with an appeal to Senator Ahmed Makarfi to join the 2019 presidential race.

Senator Ahmed Makarfi Responds
Senator Ahmed Makarfi, who was caught unaware and ambushed by the delegation and their message for his entrance into the 2019 presidential race, took time to reiterate his belief in the Nigeria project and the young people/youths of Nigeria. Ahmed Makarfi highlighted the importance of young people in nation building and expressed appreciation to the youths of Nigeria for finding him worthy to captain the ship of Nigeria at this very difficult time.

Makarfi took time to condemn the various form of insurgency and insecurity across the country and expressed faith appealed to every citizens irrespective of religion, ethnicity, educational and social background to work in peace, unity and harmony to achieve our dream country.

On the request to join the 2019 Presidential race, Makarfi informed the delegation that his position will be communicated at an appropriate time, but stated that all his life has been dedicated to Nigeria and he will continue to live to serve the Nigeria people. He enjoined the delegation to continue to promote project Nigeria and expressed faith that the dream of Nigerians shall not be cut short.

Conclusively, it was a great pleasure meeting with the man Nigerians believe is the ideal and most credible alternative to salvage our dear country. We are determined to ensure that Nigeria don't miss this opportunity, and we may be forced to file a lawsuit if need be to ensure Makarfi is on the ballot come February 2019.

May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria

Christianity EtcRe: "Buhari Should Retire" - Cardinal Onaiyekan by PierreAbutu(m): 3:02pm On May 05, 2018
Letenwam:
A Cardinal of the Catholic Church and the Metropolitan Catholic Archbishop of Abuja, John Onaiyekan who reacted to the recent killing of two catholic priests in Benue State, slammed security agencies, who he said have been watching as herdsmen slaughter innocent citizens of the country even in their worship places.

Cardinal Onaiyekan, who maintained that living in peace was less expensive than going to war, however insisted that the people would not continue to fold their hands and die on a daily basis. According to him in the interview with Sun, priests in Benue State may be forced to pick up arms and defend themselves against being killed by rampaging herdsmen.

“They have not done so. That is not our way and I don’t think they will. And I am hoping that we have not reached that stage yet. But you could reach that stage.

“Yesterday, they killed us, the next day, they killed us, the policemen are around and they have done nothing. And the police are given guns and they don’t use them.

“The Army comes and moves around and nothing happens. They are not going to wait for me to tell them what to do. They don’t want that to continue and all we have been telling government is please, don’t push people too far.

“It is not possible to tell us that Nigeria is unable to secure our territory. We cannot believe it, to tell us that it is beyond the possibility of the police; that the whole Nigerian Army with the billion naira and the billion dollars budgets that we are spending; they still can’t keep us safe.

“And they want me to believe that? We can’t believe it, which is why we are saying no, there is something seriously wrong which must be addressed quickly because at the end of the day, everybody is going to suffer.

“As you know, most of us, at least, are pleading that we live in peace with one another because living in peace is less expensive than going to war. Also, when you go to war, who wins?

“Whoever is stronger wins, not who is right. The Pope used to say that we must replace the right of force with the force of right. That is where we are now. Don’t forget that somebody (Gen. TY Danjuma) who ought to know did make a statement about get ready to defend yourselves.
“And he should know what he is talking about. And he clearly accused government of collusion. That is serious.

“For various reasons, personally, if he (Buhari) came to me for advice, I will tell him it is time for retirement" Cardinal Onaiyekan said.
