rame18: I am head of Administration in a construction company, my pipe fitters earn between 450k-500k and welders earn over 400k - 600k. These humans are the most uncultured beings. When they come to collect their weekly carton of milk and water na yèyè talk de full their mouth. Which company is that and where is the project? Porthacourt? As for them being uncultured, well, it's an individual thing, mostly welders but it's really and individual thing |

Gentlesniper: By DORC, I believe you mean Dangote oil refining company. 210000 looks too small for a professional pipe fitter in the oil and gas sector, But since it's filled with indians and Chinese coys, I won't be surprised.
I know that basic knowledge of mathematics/trigonometry is needed as a pipe fitter for calculating the rolling angle when it's not shown in the drawing, calculating elbow take off, cutting of RPads for branch connections, etc..
Let me digress a bit.. When is the refinery starting operations, I don't have the information, I'm only working on a section of the refinery and wouldn't know the percentage of work done. Even though the 210k is just basic you are right about it being low but the truth is that better jobs are yet to start |

CrownOfClay724: Man, where were you groomed?
I'm in training at the moment , but I feel the curriculum is a little inadequate to address modern Pipefitting needs and concerns.
Can you help with links to any new-day study materials? Is there a place I can garner practical experience in Lagos ; at no cost to the company? I went to a training school in Port harcourt, you could learn the theory, you can start of as a helper while you learn the practical and you get paid for being a helper too |

One of the major challenges of this job is exposure to fumes from welders. Pipefitters work in tandem with welders and as such basic PPE should be mandatory at all times to limit the inhalation of toxic fumes. Ofcourse, there are other challenges working at height (especially for those that have the phobia) shattering of discs and so on but the good news is that there are equipments in place to protect the fitter and those working with him. The worst I have experienced is arc eye, when I started off but majorly now is having no time for myself Cc Wang1tang |

Znation: Hello nairalanders
Some people may say i'm lucky and would want to be in my position, but i really need ur advice..
My girlfriend mum have a very big provission shop, and u all know how it feels (that joy) to have such person daughther as your girlfriend.
She loves me so much that she can give me money, food stuff, all for free from their shop. infact, i don't even spend a kobo to buy anything again. All i do is just go to their shop, & collect whatever i want.
If i meet her mum when i want to buy something, i'll pay her. But if i give her N500, she will give me change of even N2000 and ask me to go. And i don't argue with her so that her mum won't notice. I will just collect the money and go.
If i call her on phone that i'm hungry, only God can tell the things she will bring for me withing just 20 minutes of calling her..
She's spending so much on me, and i think i need advice.
I thought i was a lucky man b4, but the thing is too much 4 me.
nairalanders, What should i do? Tell her to stop and pay for whatever you take, it goes a long way in shaping however you turn out |

Politics › Re: Bandits Shoot Pregnant Pharmacist Dead For Being Sluggish by Pipefitter: 8:49am On Oct 25, 2021 |
You could have done better. NwaAmaikpe:

I pray all those pregnant women who act like the weight of the world is on them because of a load they happily accepted read this and learn.
Pregnancy is not a disability. We were not there when you were fvcked. We are damn sure you enjoyed most of the shagging. How can you spread your legs wide for a preek, gulp it up in your mouth and when the aftermath of your enjoyment is here, you'd expect me to give up my space on a queue for you or treat you preferentially.
No way.
I tell them and I'd say it again, it doesn't make me a gentleman so don't expect pity from me just because you are carrying a bulge that you got through pleasure.
If I find you attractive, I'd woo you despite your bump, if you fall for me, I'd shag you even harder despite your bump.
To all the pregnant women out there, Carry your pregnancy with all sense of responsibility and expect no empathy from anyone. In due time, our good Lord will make you birth safely.
Till then, a minute of silence to the dead pharmacist who died because of being sluggish. No, she died because she expected people to pity her because she was pregnant.
But that's not a good enough reason for anyone to die but we all know that bandits are monsters. |
