UK and USA may not agree that nigerians are not explorers, even ghanian immigration agency.
I stopped taking you seriously when you made that statement grin
Again you are arguing illogically.

Nigerians dont explore ABI, ghanaians are the great explorers grin
Now you are arguing illogically. I am not Ghanaian, nor is the argument about Ghanaians not exploring. It is about Nigerians believing that they are in a circumstance that they are not. Nigeria is filthy, corrupt, and unorganized and you are trying to compare it to a country that is. If you moved around and tried to see other countries you would understand my point. Nigeria cannot maintain a university hostel's toilet and you say they are the best in Africa. Ok.

lolz, owk
Laugh all you want but unless you've lived and worked there, then you can't have an objective opinion. It's just like me trying to tell someone who's been to Germany that the country is whack when i've never stepped in it before. I have by the way. Nigerians don't explore which is why they are easily dazzled by mediocrity. You are comparing a country that does not have strikes, poor maintenance and cultism at the same level with a country that does. How is that possible?

sorry, this is the recent ranking, I see nothing spectacular about Ghana if university of Ghana cannot make first 1000 in world and cannot top university of ibadan. Ghana and nigeria are in same problem, i dont need to go to ghana to know this, the positions of your varsities spaeks volume.

http://www.webometrics.info/en/Sub-Saharan
What do yo mean by the same problem? Ghana is light years away from anything Nigeria has to offer. Economically, socially or otherwise. This is why i say to experience something before you can have an objective opinion on it.

going to ghana doesnt excite me, I rather visit Egypt, SA or Kenya. There's nothing exciting about Ghana.

I think webometric should give a rough idea about the standard of unoversities in both countries, if university of Ghana cannot top university of Ibadan then I think there's nothing exciting about universities in Ghana.
It is not supposed to be exciting. It is supposed to be livable and also gives you value for money. You know the problem with googling things? It is always subjective. You see what you want to see. That is why i rely on personal experiences. Just by googling the best universities in Africa for 2016 shows that OAU is not even on the list. University of Ibadan made it at number 14 and university of Ghana is at number 7.

I really dont see a difference between nigeria and Ghana unoversities, after all nigerian universities are always coming first in west Africa on any ranking. The recent webometric ranking has 26 nigeria unis in top 100 subsaharan varsities with just 5 ghanain unis.
You don't know because you have been cooped up in Nigeria for too long and you are basing your comments on your limited exposure and experience. I have been there and many more countries so i speak from personal experience. That is part of what is wrong with Nigerians. They are easily dazzled by mediocrity.

Actually, when it was built in the 60s, up till 80s, it was officially rated the Most Beautiful Campus in Africa and one of the Top 25 Most Beautiful Estates in the World.

Lack of maintenance and the fact that the world has gone beyond that, meant it cannot lay claim to that ranking again.

Obviously, OAU cannot be the most beautiful campus in Africa today. But it used to be and I don't think it has lost that status in Nigeria.

ABU comes close. I have been to ABU and OAU and I can say OAU slightly edges out ABU.

I have heard of Covenant University too.

I'm an alumnus of OAU.
Agreed. Everything in Nigeria was at par with world standards in the 60's, but for some reason, Nigeria is still stuck in that era.

Dotwillis1:
One of the points below should be the reason you won't see some people in church today...

1. The lazy heads- these ones will feel reluctant to get up from their bed. They will spend hours staring at their chores without touching 'em, and then jump in bed again to relax or press phone. They start to take their bath at the closing hour of the service.

2. The rough'ians - they gat lots of dirty cloths piled up and failed to watch during the weekend. They wk up this morning to remeber today is sunday and start looking for what to put on and then you see them pack their cloth outside to wash when they ought to be in church.

3. Hangover victim- went to party last night, drank lots of alcohol mixtures and then walked home with their head. Now they find it difficult to get up from bed.

4.the ones with no offering - the feeling that people will be staring at them during the offering time, if they sit back while others dance to drop theirs, will discourage them from going to church.

5. the ones who traveled all the way to greet their bf/gf during the weekend and still want to continue from where they stopped last night wink

6. those who got hit by the last sunday's sermon and felt ashamed like the pastor was refering to them directly.

Better go to church and turn a new life grin

7. the ones whose working days exceeds 5 days. People like lalasticlala who work every sec. that counts to make 7days. I'm sure he goes to church tho. grin

Tell us why you won't be in church today if you didn't fall into any of the categories

*
8. The smart people who've seen through the bullshiiit of enriching pastors.

actually , been strict sometimes can make people around you extra careful !
Being strict without corrective training serves not purpose. I had this subordinate who could not wake up on time for some reason. Always late. I wrote him up and part of his corrective training was to show up to work at 0500hrs every morning for two weeks. Normal time would have been 0900. Guess what? He never came to work late again. If it were my girlfriend, i would not be that hard. I would use the carrot approach. That is if i had long term plans for her anyway.

google is your friend
Depending on who's using it. Without even using google, common sense should tell any normal human being that the most beautiful university would be in South Africa and using google it narrows it down to university of cape town. How can you even mention any university in Nigeria considering the fact that Nigerians lack any sort of maintenance culture. For something to be beautiful, it has to be maintained. Your problem is the problem most Nigerians have. They lack exposure of any kind, or experience outside the limitations of Nigeria, which is why they are easily dazzled with mediocrity. You need to start traveling the world and you will realize that Nigeria has nothing. Except food. The picture below is a sample of University of cape town. Do you still have the same opinion that OAU is the most beautiful in Africa?

What has manning up got to do with her being careless. This is where you have to teach her the way to do things. You can't bully someone into being careful. Too many Nigerians lack problem solving skills.

Then you have missed the point. Everything you said there is true and I accept as some of the features of today`s Nigeria. But what we are contesting here is the proper reaction of a country to external injustices. My point is, that should not be determined by any domestic lawlessness or challenges. The response should be thorough and robust in order to send out a signal that, regardless of my domestic challenges, you wouldn`t disrespect my country or citizens. We should all, as Nigerians, agree on this.
One question is how can you be protesting this when you accept it on daily basis in your own country? That does not make any sense.

You deduced this simply by generalization. I never support that. Just like I detest this Indonesia ish. But it's sad that some Nigerians support it as they also support the Indonesia execution. But I am different. I don't support any barbaric act of any sort.
Because you are honest does not mean the world will not categorize you as dishonest. Why? because the world knows you as a Nigerian and they know that Nigeria is a corrupt country. Saying "but i'm honest does not matter". Saying you don't partake in Jungle justice does not matter because you are Nigerian and the world believes Nigerians are lawless and love engaging in Jungle justice. I can't believe i am explaining this.

Trust me, I don`t argue in order to score points; I argue in order to inform. I`m sure you would accept that the people that have been killed through mob justice in Nigeria are likely to be up to twice the number that you and I know. Don`t forget that this is about the need to always speak up on issues concerning and affecting fellow Nigerians abroad. You are of the view that, considering we are so barbaric that we set petty criminals on fire, we don`t have the moral authority to complain too loudly when rough justice happens abroad
Now in the United States, the total number of people that the police had killed this year till last Thursday 28-07-2016 is 673. So from January this year till now sophisticated United States through her police forces has carried out 673 illegal killings. Please comment!
You are confusing a country which frowns on criminality with a country where criminality and corruption is a way of life. The argument is not about if there is crime in any country, (because every country has crime), It is about the manner and how does society respond to it. You would never see in America, people setting suspects on fire and a mob is formed and then they put it on the internet. And you never see it's citizen saying "yes. na God catch them" on Forums. You will never see a policeman standing in the middle of the streets collecting bribe all day like it is his job to do so. Nigeria is a lawless country where it's people don't complain when it's own people do injustice to themselves but complain when a country tries to enforce their own laws. That is the point.
