Hello fam. I need advice. I'd appreciate responses or suggestions from anyone who might have gone through this or similar. My sister is expecting twins sometime in May. She is a single mother and would like to invite my cousin who is 28 years old and single through a visitors visa for 2 months to help with the babies.
1. Cousin is a fashion designer who doesn't have a travel history( just got a passport few weeks ago)
2. She doesn’t have money in her bank account as she is paid cash but has a fixed deposit of 550k
2. Cost of the trip would be borne by my sister.

Please what is the best way to proceed?

The call option worked. Thanks a lot brother

Hey 🤠

Once you click the feed back it takes you to a written space where you can type and attach document if you like then send it ...

Anyways , the physical calling is also very important. Do that and let's see .

Best Wishes 🙏

I have tried the feedback form there is no prompt to follpw. I will try to call. Thanks for your response highly appreciated

Hey 🤠

I don't think that you can click on family information on CGI after inputted... That means it's not editable or can't be deleted by you .

Send message to CGI via the FEEDBACK option in your profile and tell them what you want them to do for you .

You may also call the CGI help desk during working days ..Mon - Frid .

Best Wishes 🙏

Hi everyone. Please has anyone flown to the United States via Air France recently? My flight is from Abuja, one stop in Paris then to the US. I will like to know if an Airport Transit Visa is required for Nigerian passport holders with valid US visa. Thank you

No you don't need a transit visa as long as you remain in the airport. I used them in August from Abuja to the US I had no issues at all. Just make sure your bag no pass 23kg sha, they no dry hear 'Oga abeg'

You were told by who that you need to wait 3 months? That's incorrect information.

@sir/Ma it is very correct. Here you go
nterview Waiver (IW) Qualifications

Applicant must possess a full-validity multiple entry visa that expired no more than 48 months ago or it will expire within the next 3 months.

Applicant must be applying for a visa in the same visa classification as the expired/expiring visa.

Applicant must be a citizen or resident of Nigeria.

Applicant must be physically present in Nigeria.

Applicant must dissociate all dependents from their profile and apply for each dependent separately if qualified.

Applicant must not have been refused a visa since the issuance of the previous visa or had a visa revoked or have ever required a waiver.

Applicant must possess all issued passports covering the entire period since receiving the previous visa and the passport with the most recent visa.

Applicant has never been arrested or convicted of any crime or offense in the United States, even if the applicant has later received a waiver or pardon.

Applicant has never worked without authorization or remained beyond their permitted time in the United States.

Applicant (if under 18) meets all the above qualifications. If a parent is not scheduled on the same day, minor must be able to submit a copy of their parent’s valid visa page or copies of their parent’s appointment letters and DS-160

Good morning house,
Please I need advice I’d like to know the procedure for extension of visa. My visa expires in 3 weeks and I’d like to return in December as my sister just had a baby and would require help with the baby.
I applied for drop box prior to my arrival but was told I didn’t qualify for drop box as my visa was still valid for more than 3 months.
Please any advice and recommendations would be appreciated

In your submission for a B1/B2 visa, you must include the following documents. (Please do not include any documents not listed):
This letter.
A passport containing the expired non-immigrant visa (if that passport is expired, a current valid passport is also required).
DS-160 confirmation page. Must be completed or updated within the last six months and must be uploaded to your application profile.
One (1) 5x5 cm color photographs with a white background, taken no more than six (6) months ago and without glasses. (Do not reuse your photo from a previous application)
Minors (under 18) – photocopy of parent(s)’ valid visas unless parents are also applying for IW at the same time.

Application Process
If you apply for a visa renewal without an interview, you must electronically complete all visa application forms. Detailed instructions concerning the nonimmigrant visa application process are located at https://www.ustraveldocs.com/ng.

Family Applications
If more than one member of an immediate family (defined as a spouse and/or child(ren under 18) will be applying at the same time, only one applying spouse/parent must appear in-person to submit the applications. If applying solely for a child(ren) under 18, one parent of the applying child(ren) must appear in person to submit the application(s) for the child(ren) - the child(ren) do not need to be present.

In-Person Application Requirement
Outside of the accommodations for immediate family applications (see above), each applicant must apply in-person.

In-Person Interview May Be Required
Any applicant who submits an incomplete or unqualified application, or where potentially derogatory information is found will be asked to schedule an in-person interview.

Processing Time – 2 Months
Application processing time is two months from date of application. Processing times are updated at https://ng.usembassy.gov/visas/nonimmigrant-visas. We cannot return a passport during processing; therefore, do not apply for a visa renewal without an interview if you might need your passport for any purpose during the processing period.

Reading this again I did several things wrong
1. I didn’t qualify for IW as my visa was yet to expire and more than 3 months validity
2. I had my dependent on the same IW appointment as I couldn’t figure out how to get Her a separate appointment even though She qualified for the IW
3. I used my previous passport photograph on the DS 160 form even though I submitted a different one for myself and my daughter

Debbieeeeeee:

You’re only eligible for IW three months before expiration of current visa and 48 months after its expiration. You didn’t read the instructions before submitting so you set yourself up for interview.
Your current visa is valid and if it wasn’t cancelled just yet then you can travel on it, I’ve seen stories like this in the birthing thread many years ago.
I agree that I set myself up but I did read the instructions about 3 months before but I assumed since it took about 2 months to get it approved I would have fallen in to the 3 months period but I was obviously wrong.
Thanks for the insight gives me some kind of clarity. I appreciate

You don’t qualify because your visa hasn’t expired yet. You can enter the us before your visa expires.

Ok. Thanks a lot for your response. But since my visa expires in October and I plan to return in December won’t I have issues subsequently when renewing since I’ll be over shooting my current visa validity?

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by piscesnow(f): 11:01am On Jul 21, 2023
Please I need your thoughts on this please.
I have a B1/B2 expiring 27th of October but I filled on my DS 160 I’d be traveling October 13th and since I head it takes 2 months for IW applications to be approved I applied for the IW with my daughter June 15th.

My daughter own came back approved about 1 week after. I only just received mine today with a pick form. Attached underneath

I need to travel like in 2 weeks and I have already bought ticket already. My concerns now are 1. My ticket is till December 4th as my sister just had a baby and I want to help while my current Visa expires in October.
2. Why was my daughter approved and I asked to rebook another appointment.
3. This appointment is it another IW or a normal appointment
4. Since my previous visa is still valid can I still go ahead and use it?
5. If I travel with this visa would I have issues at the POE since I have been asked to book another appointment?
Please advice I’m confused

My mum doesn't live in Abuja but in Benin. Do you know of a way to receive the decision envelope, via the VAC 1-way courier service, as they submitted their envelopes via the DHL one-way. DHL said they've stopped 2-way courier since Nov 2022.
On the email sent there is a link with courier forms to fill all the details for return. Check

Same too
DHL only agree to do one way courier to abuja from lagos.
I don't known how to pick it up when it is ready since I'm not in abuja
They’ll send you an email with details for their courier return from Abuja it’s about 18,000 I think and you’ll fill the courier forms and send to them.
PS: I haven’t gotten mine back though 3 weeks after

Can you please send me an email on cheboz1111@gmail.com or send yours I would appreciate guidance on how you sent yours. Thank you
I’m sorry just seeing this now.
I paid the transmission fee to their sterling bank account, printed out the receipt, printed out the PPR email, hand filled 2 copies of the consent forms, made a copy of the biometric forms that has a sticker on it and a colored copy of my data page( all 2 copies). Behind the data page of the passport full name, phone No and email and put in a brown envelope. Took to dhl office the only agreed to do a one way courier to Abuja. I paid about 13k from Benin and they got it in 2 days. I got an email acknowledging receipt by vfs and passport was sent to CVAC the next day and another mail with tracking details sent to me. As soon as it was returned I also got an email notifying me in about it. I’ll send to your email too
