I am not sure how long they give to students now however, she gets the normal duration every approved student from Nigeria gets.
With respect to doing other programs, provided she doesn't go out of status, she can always continue with her studies. She just needs move her sevis to the new institution and continue her studies.[/quote]

Thanks so much ...

1. No one can predict your sister's chances... she'll have to prove to the VO that she is a genuine candidate for a student visa.
2. No she should get the traditional 2-year visa (or whatever the standard visa validity interval is today).
3. Yes, she can extend her stay to a Phd without needing to return to a visa. She will need a new I-20 though.

I came across a University in the USA that won't cost you more than $1000 to get admission and proceed to the embassy for visa with good statement of account. If they reject you with TANGIBLE reasons, they will refund you your money. But you have better chance of succeeding. Just quote me if you need the link.

Hello, please is it too late to share the link to me galaxybabe3@gmail.com, thank you so much

good day to you all, I graduated in February, the year 2015 from uniport with a CGPA of 3.43 from biochemistry department and I want to do my MSC in any of the health-related courses in canada: 1 MSC in Addiction and Mental Health 2 MSC in Public Health 3 MSC in healthcare management 4 MSC in biotechnology and renewable energy. the question now is which of the schools in canada offer health courses at graduate level and to int'l students. I've tried some schools, they said they can't accept me, reason being that my CGPA is low. pls help a brother with any schools that accept Nigerians without any stress! thanks and God bless! I will also be willing to do PG/certificate as option B if option A (MSC) doesn't materialise

There are certain measures that the students must take while writing a statement of purposes which are:

The main reason behind choosing the target course should be defined clearly.

What were the subjects that made the students opt for the particular course?

Are you part of any activity that would further increase your knowledge of the course that you have chosen?

Why have you chosen this particular university? What attracted you to it?

Thank you

Someone just passed an information...why not get the sense and forget the English. There are many intelligent scholars in the world that can't speak correct English. Even in Canada you will meet many of them. So let us be focus please.
Please I say this not out of scorn, but from utmost concern!

Yes, it is important.
In addition, you should brand yourself by stating what you've been doing. It could be training, employment, or voluntary community assistance.
However, either of the two (SOP or LOE) can bear this, you just need to avoid repetition of one single point.

Thank you so much for this, you're greatly appreciated.

Updated list

Why you would like to study in this Country?

What are your educational goals?

Why have you not chosen to study in your homeland?

How this program will benefit your employment opportunities in your own land?

What tied do you have to your home country?

If you’ve been out of school for more than 2 years, provide your resume: this should not be a problem, especially to our graduates

Add job experience and possible reasons for your study gaps.

Speak about what selling factor lead you to choose this specific university (facilities, infrastructure etc.)

If possible, mention a professor or two that you know of and compliment their work.

Nice one SOP writer. Thank you for doing this.
Please in the SOP, is it necessary to state the study gaps there or in the LOE or the Resume? Thank you

Wow! Wow!! Wow!!! shocked I must confess that this is the best application that I have ever played an active part starting from the admission process down to the packaging of the visa application cool. The approval didn't come as a surprise to me, because I was too sure about it's favourable outcome after been up and about for several nights, writing and cracking my brain in an effort to put up an undeniable application, considering that she had a 38,000CAD$ full scholarship from Brock University. Documents were bulky yet very clear and readable. @Dera12345, I have always known you to be a self-motivated and relentless maiden who aspire to attain greater heights in life. We have been in this tedious process since last year and I can tell how many times you were rejected by potential Supervisors. I am extremely delighted that the whole struggles and hurdles ended with a remarkable Victory. Thanks once again for trusting and believing so much in my capacity my dear Dera12345 kiss. It's indeed a great honour to be part of your TRV crowning achievement and I wish you the very best in all your endeavors.

Accept my Congratulations my dearest Dera12345 grin

You're a rare and unique being.
The blessings in deut 28 is your portion, thank you for all you do.
God bless you!

Thanks once more everyone!!!
And to give back to the forum before I travel, I would like to willingly assist few applicants finding it difficult to secure MSc funding admission, including magic tips on how to charm a supervisor lol.
Also note, first impression matters and that determines the rest of the positive interactions depending on the supervisor’s response.

I was once in their shoes and I know how frustrating it can be, this is the best I can do!!!

Congratulations, to God be all the glory! Pls i sent a mail.

Hello!

I'm quite new here and I have something really disturbing me about Canadian travels...

Here is the thing

I am a graduate. I studied Medical Laboratory Science as an undergraduate program here in Nigeria. I am currently working with an agency here in Nigeria and they got two admission offers for me
1. A Diploma program in Environmental Technician Field and Lab (2 years program)
2. Post Graduate Health Analytics (1year program)

On the course of asking questions to people around me, I decided to go for the 2years Diploma program. I already paid for the tuition

But in the course discussion with one of my friends , he said that since I have done an undergraduate program here in Nigeria that I would have gone for the PGD (1yr) why go for the Diploma 2yr.... I told him that it was because of the yrs inviolved.

So now I have contacted the agency to know how they can write the school to revoke my admission offer for the masters program and then write to the school that gave me the diploma course to know if they could give me a Graduate Diploma Course to replace the undergraduate diploma that I have already paid for. They also applied to another school for a PGD program as well.

Right now I'm waiting for 3 offer letters.

Please I need an advice....

Should I continue with the undergraduate Diploma course ?
If Yes what else can I do to increase my chances of getting my visa approved ?
Or should I wait to choose the school for PGD when the offer comes out

Please I need answers because I only have limited time to make decisions.

Go for the PGD. It increases your visa approval chance than the diploma.
It's also an advance program from what you studied in undergrad school and will go a long way in your SOP.
Goodluck!

Hi everyone good evening, I’ve been following this thread for quite a while now and only decided to post now because I’m in a dilemma.
So I got admitted to U OF M for a masters in human rights, I’m an International Relations graduate by the way, attached to this admission I got $10,000 scholarship and I’m about to submit my visa application since I’m suppose to resume this September, just found out yesterday. I’m confused on what method of application to do, whether online or paper cos I feel like the online application might take time. I’ve worked on all the things I need
SOP
POLICE CHARACTER CERTIFICATE
BANK STATEMENT (getting it on Tuesday)
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
MY MOMS LANDED DOCUMENTS (she’s also my sponsor)
BIRTH CERTIFICATE SHOWING I AND MY MOMS RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE SHE CHANGED HER NAME AFTER MY DAD DIED
I really need y’alls advice on which way to go because if I miss this opportunity (hopefully not) I would be hurt beyond words
Can’t defer cos the program is a September intake only and scholarship is only valid for fall 2019 so I have to leave in September and I also forgot to mention it’s a new program and department we are the first ones.
Thank you
