But tell me d professional sense in this cos as a professional accountant, I still could not understand d retrenchment. No one is an island of knowledge, the say;

This bank and some other organizations went ahead to donate billions of naira to the government to simply reduce 'death' dat would be caused by the pandemic, knowing dat staffs are likely to be retrenched at d end of it all. But why not use the money to sustain the workers as palliative measures rather than lavishing it on d government who already had our taxes trapped in their care?

I am sure d said retrenched workers would even appreciate this kind of gesture if it had come earlier before the advent of the pandemic, because this at this time, looks more of cruelty than economy: absolute man's inhumanity to man.

Does the donation achieve the purpose?
As of today their are 385 discharged of covid-19 and 85 deaths.
But at the same time, due to d retrenchment, there were over 1000 admitted at d hospitals and over 600 like deaths... from a reliable source

Poorest Nigerians indeed! I got a report that residents of lekki, ajah and vi axes now enjoy 24hrs power. But in Ejigbo, it was just increased to 4hrs(2hrs in the morning and 2hrs in the afternoon)

I work for one of the popular print media company in Lagos. I have been charged to get ten advert customers to place advert on the pages of our newspapers.

I won't like to bore anyone with details: I will be as brief as I can.

Two years ago, I and a girl were on the verge of getting married, not until we both realise that we were not compatible ( ie she is AC genotype, while I am as).

Met another girl one year later and have been running things together, only to discover that she is as. I stylishly left her

I met another girl some couple of months ago we are yet to see each other though. But we have been calling each other not until two months ago when I got to know that she is as.

It is to be noted that all these girls are my kind of girls but that genotype issues have deprived me.

This thread left a bad taste in my mouth as i am also a proud member of this professional institute u speak of. Don’t u think your thread may be ridiculing the institute? There are many others with ACA that are gainfully employed as well so i’m pretty sure the problem is not the ACA. Have u looked inwards? What is your strategy and is it obsolete? Are your application letters riddled with errors and grammatical blunders but yet u expect ACA to do the magic? Are u failing aptitude tests and interviews? Is ur CV well put together? I’m afraid but with a thread title such as this, that ur ACA may not hold value for long in the eyes of potential recruiters.

Be strategic about ur job search. Linkedin may do u more good than here. Have u reached out to the likes of SIAO, Grant Thornton, Pedabo, Dafinone, Pica dilly, Pkf or even the lesser known ones? Did u visit them in person? Offer to volunteer? If u haven’t done these but instead see it best to play the pity card by rubbishing your ICAN that some gave their blood to get and are living comfortably on, then i must say there maybe a big problem with u. Reach out to HR of these firms on linkedin and state ur interest and qualification. Reach out to current and former employees and ask them how they got in. Volunteer for an internship placement if a permanent role does not yet exist. Build experience for one or two years and apply for a senior role with the Big 4 firms or other equally great firms as they are always looking for experienced hires.

I encourage u to modify ur thread title accordingly and sell ur value instead of this pity party as i fear no potential employer in a serious organisation would take you serious based on it’s contents. At best you may draw a couple likes and some sympathetic comments here and there but that is as far as it may get. No one owes u anything based on your professional qualification and that does not deplete it’s value either. The onus is largely upon u to defend that ACA. Bye
