opsynusy: he only told me to get the money ready but shouldn't pay until embassy says so
If the school requests for it before cic, it's mandatory you obey that first!

Blackkie: Thank you.
I have a bank statement but it aint strong but the traffic is huge but currently, its closing balance is 100k.
Will this be a red flag?
I have a good volume of shares and a land to add - how about that?
You have good and reliable financial supporting documents like the shars and landed but that your 100k soa no try ooo
What about the other sponsor?

Blackkie: Good morning all.

masterp204: I guess ur agent was wrong then. School says pay $4k so that ull be issued an unconditional letter of acceptance that ull use for your visa application and ur agent is telling u nt to pay? That wrong information. I believe Majority of peeps here whom their respective schools asked to pay some part of their tuition fees payed including me . Anyway u just need to commit ur app into Gods hand and pray fervently . There is nothing God cannot do. #Believe
Haustraliah: Obedience is the best.
He shouldn't be teaching an agent his job.
my brother don't pay are din after 100$ application fee,and medical was granted.
leave agent along and let him do his job.
I disagree, some agents don't even know this job well. If a school's policy requires you pay a fee then who the hell is an agent to tell you not to. Abi the agent papa na VO? Not following the school's requirements properly could lead to Non-bonafide student.

SURGEE: I now get it my oga. it wouldn't be easy convincing CIC on that. it just pays to wait and find greener pastures. thanks bro.
however. can you give an overview of what life is like in NFL(jobs, community, bills, socials and study life) if you have any idea sir or anyone in the house o abeg, though I read some other forums but I really don't know what's in for international students.
thanks once again
With the stories always reaching us about NFL, seems the place is kinda dull, I don't think it can be that bad tho and considering the cheap tuition of MUN, study there pack ur load to a better side and who knows you can even hammer better job there sef as competition there is limited.

We can't conclude that the mistake is from there but I think claiming that he's ur Uncle would have just been excellent

larrswag: hello my fellow countrymen i've been silently following this trend for quite a long time, and altogether waiting for the day that i'll go and collect my document from the VFS global office.now i've done that. so this is my problem i used my family friend as a sponsor,he is a businessman and has 16 million in his account , which i submitted together with the original copy of his certificate of incoporation, sponsorship letter and letter from the bank but still i was denied because of fund and this is my first time and i manage to package it by myself . please guyz i want to apply again for next year fall 2015 and i really need your help on how to package my application, especially fund if the person you are using is not related to you.
The soa is okay but how did you try to prove the relationship between you and the sponsor?

SURGEE: my ogas o, is it possible to change uni on getting to Canada for a graduate program. I am stuck between MUN n UoA. from my searches, I discover that there are a lot of opportunities for civil engineers in Alberta compared to NFL. so, could it be possible to have a year of study in MUN and then move to UoA for degree completion, consequent on job prospects and obtaining PR.
pls what's your take on this, as we all know that Alberta as a booming economy at present?
I don't understand the bolded but one thing I know about the new rule since June 1st is that a change of school would have to be granted by cic which means u'll have to convince em why you wna change after you receive ur permit with another school. The common thing is to finish from one school then move to another province for better things.

Jaydenehis: Hi all
Please i'm abit confuse. I have made a deposit 4 my fees but wondering if I should pay d balance or leave d cash in my husband's domiciliary acct then print it out or should I just pay d fees? Please which option is better? Thank you so muchg
If the school is requesting for it then pay it but if they're not then whichever you do is okay. It ain't a big deal to get u confused.

osemobo85: hello Guys; just have two questions

1. please what's the minmum balance i am suppose to have on my account
2. what do i do about travel history? , having in mind i haven't been out of the country before.
No specific amount for minimum balance but something around $40k and above is reasonable enough and other supporting documents to show financial capability of ur sponsor.
Most people came here haven applied with a virgin passport so worry less on travel history and focus on a good packaging for ur app.

GboyegaD: Just curious as to why it isn't ideal. The monies at our disposal varies and we should learn to manage based on our resources. I once lived in a 2 bedroom apt and we were 4guys sharing 2 per room. All we did was to get the standard mattress and we had 2 in each room. Funny enough, 3 of the 4 of us were roommates in Ife and the last was a Ghanian whom I happened to meet by been his International Mentor and he needed a reasonable place. Do not let the stereotypes of this place put unnecessary strains on your finances.
I didn't mention that it's impossible, just letting anybody know what to expect here, because it was easy for you to find someone to share room with doesn't mean it would be that simple for everybody. no landlord would give out a room for two renters for the price of one unless if he/she is unaware. it's not stereotype, that's the standard. more people means more bills on utility. Only if you the bills would be on the renters and I'm sure no student would want to start paying such bills.

Mohammedbashir: Pls I want to know how soon you can apply for sin no. With service after they must have given you study/work permit. House rent is about to start cutting a bro's neck.. Its a bit hard finding someone to share a room with and that's the genesis... Maybe for London alone.
With the new study permit you would get your SIN at Service Canada in your city within some minutes.

Sharing a single room is almost not an ideal thing here in Canada unless for couples, the closest is sharing an apartment of 2or3 bedrooms which is always cheaper.

stuhporh: Hello HoUSE,
Please i need advice on my "about to" submit application.

Am applying for PG
Admitted to humber college
I have paid tuition in full, and i have the receipt
I have been working for four years
course of study is in the area i have worked for past 4 years.
My MUM is sponsor(, i paid the tuition myself.), she is the founder of a church, a branch in Lekki and ibadan although she has sponsored all my 4 siblings outside the country for their studies, including my sis in canada, ( Just that money no dey rest again as it used to at this time wey i wan go, and i cant wait for her to gather as man don dey old)
I have collected the following docs,
SPONSORS DOCS
Sponsors introduction of applicant letter, sponsor SOA, letter of intro from sponsors bank, letter of intro from the church for the sponsor, Shares Certificate, Evaluation document of of sponsor property(house), change of name evidence, CHURCH CAC document.

APPLICANT DOCUMENT (MYSELF)
Certificates, payslip, salary account SOA (Balance is 150k, but the credit that has gone through my account in past 6 months is 5.6m)), Letter of intro from employer, leave of absence approval letter, stating my salary will be paid every month till end of my study leave, tuition receipt, statement of intent.

My major concern is that the closing balance on my mums account is 2m, I NEED EVERYONE ADVICE IF AM GOOD TO GO OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING OUT? I will appreciate everyone's contribution
Though the soa is very low but I like the fact that you have enough supporting documents to show your sponsor's financial capability and first year fees all paid, salary will continue from your employer (those 3 facts a reasonable VO should consider and know you won't lack funds). Believe me and believe God, you can submit like that and you would just find yourself in Canada soon but I know you know it's always better to play safe so Guy if possible you can get a co-sponsor like an Uncle, Aunt or Whoever with a better soa and remember you have 3 siblings depending on your mum, Your app is good but can be better with a co-sponsor.

vanrichie4u: Dude use ur dad's statement of account, I'm in the same situation as u, I wonder why ppl here say such about fixed deposit , what if the amount in d fixed deposit is "HUGE" resulting to higher monthly dividends as compared to another applicant with a current/ savings account with just 5mil would d VO prefer option A or B, abeg fixed deposit, current or savings account all the same, what matters is that the account is capable of paying your bills. My own opinion.
degreat11: peeps in NL don't always get the facts right before making an expert opinion about an issue... for instance SOA is the same as Savings Account, Current Account and Fixed Deposits. though most embassies prefer current account coz of the activities inflow and outflow which is easier for them to identify the source of income on the other hand funds in savings and fixed can be set apart for that particular purpose of sponsoring the individual...
Since I PlayPays has been on here I've never read where any great head here advised against fixed deposits. Personally, if my sponsor has huge amount in his fixed I would put it in but also with a current or savings because I know the VO knows withdrawal can't be done on fixed deposit until it reaches its maturity or an agreed tenor.

tweeny24: Urgent advice needed...

On my CIC form, they asked how much is the value of tuition which is $13977..though I have paid $2600 as acceptance fee,the account I want to use for SOA which belongs to my dad has 2.1M in it....I don't know if that will be enough to convince VO to grant visa...if not,how much will have to be in the account in order to be on the safer side?...
Thanks
If there is enough huge cash flow, it would help but still that 2.1 is low and now you can't start putting in funds into the acct. You haven't paid school fees, imagine if cic ask you to pay for 1st year and also accommodation, that 2.1 won't even be enough. Include more financial documents like landed, company or employment of your dad and if your mum or any family member has a good acct too you can include as co-sponsor, another thing is if you have anybody close to your school who can write you a letter that he/she would be accommodating you all thru ur study years, that alone would cut almost half of your expenses.

Slimdel: Well playpays have answered your question. Explain the gaps in your academic life and don't think of the age, I have a 46 year old man in my class though Canadian cause I'm the only black
Most of these Canadians don't even care, to them only high school is a necessity any further thing is just an add-on. They rather work long years after high school before deciding on going back for diploma or degree.
In fact, if my own grandma wakes up tomorrow that she wants to further her education I will personally handle a perfect app for her.

Tochium: @Siga, Slimdel and all the gurus in d hous,

I have been admitted to two post secondary institutions in canada:- Uni of Regina (bachelors degree in environmental system engineering) and Medicine Hat College (diploma in business administration)

My question now is, which one is beta for TRV application? I am 26yrs old and I feel applying with U of R will raise a red flag because of my age tho the course is related to the work I do.
My guy you already answered yourself the program in UofR is related to the work you do now and you will actually submit some work documents for your app, that alone would explain your age. And believe me, age isn't an issue in this case.

If it's me I won't include that tho unless it's from a well recognized barbing institute and only if barbing is what I want to go learn in Canada. If you've got like any computer certificate that would help.

I just joined the thread so this is my first post...I received an offer of admission at centennial college and I have paid my acceptance fee and got the letter 2 days ago...I applied for a diploma degree of 2 years...I am 24 years old with no prior tertiary institution degree... and am scared my age will cause a denial of visa..pls what are my chances
Believe me your age is okay. I came in for a diploma even after a degree in Nigeria which I didn't disclose to cic (embassy). It was after I got here I decided to change to post graduate so you have no problem!

ola2tu: @Siga, Fhemmy, PlayPays and others that have insight to my question.. Some CO-OP requires one to be a Canadian citizen or Permanent resident, for instance courses that have endorsement of Transport Canada. My question now is as an international student (have in mind also that the CO-OP is a requirement for completion of the course) the school told me all CO-OP students are granted assistance, and also such course also has intake of International students, Now , do u think searching for a CO-OP will be easy to get ,and hope there won't be discrimination also in getting the CO-OP from organizations?
Getting an organization that would accept you isn't a problem and Canada has rules against discrimination but systematic discrimination still exist but that's not a problem. like my workplace I'm d only black and wetin my eye don see na make God dey help me. Apply to many organisations both within your city/province and away so you'd have more choices
