Dr_Jay02: The charge for Gt bank is N1000 which is approximately $7 per withdrawal and it works very well used it previously in Europe.
The Gtb charge per withdrawal here in Canada is N400 and Fidelity bank is $4
Those two I'm familiar with very well.

demoah: @Nasdaq is right. Trust me they will gladly deport you. Yes schools have refund policy but some Nigerians have abused the policy. They get here, demand their money and claim they wanna go to another school only for them to start living large with the money and not attend any school. If you truly have another school, I will advice this guy to get the admission letter, present the letter to his former school and request they transfer his tuition to the new school. Be warned! your school will never give you your tuition once you get to CA. they can only transfer it to your new school of choice. If you try to act funny, they will call immigration and its the last time you will see Canada.
Schools have different policy to refunds, my friend got to canny collected his tuition cash and carry am go another school.
Schools don't call immigration like that the only thing is they inform them that you're no more their student because you have their name on the study permit. The report puts one off-status until you get into another school.

Princessterry: Thanks. I got the mail from CIC. The appointment was slated next week at Asaju. Do i have to wait to get a mail from VAC before going to collect the passport?.
If your tracking status didn't change or yet to receive email from vfs it might mean your passport is yet to reach their office, it should be there by tomorrow and you can at the same talk to asaju to book you for Thursday no time to waste or ain't you for winter?
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by PlayPays: 6:34pm On Dec 10, 2013

Princessterry: Hi all, i have been following this thread and it has really been helpful. I applied for study permit via vfs and got a mail today to go for my medicals. I have booked with Asaju medical centre and i was told to come along with my original passport. The thing is that my passport was submitted during the application, please advise on when to go to VAC to get it. Also,is it advisable to go to Asaju medical without an appointment. Expecting ur response. Thanks
If you got the email from vfs that means your passport is there along with you medical instruction so go get it asap OR you could also use other international recognized identity but I don't know how it works.
Its better you book before going to asaju.
Best of luck!

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by PlayPays: 5:25pm On Dec 10, 2013
No one should be expecting to start making it big once you get here... not that fast!
You should be ready to begin from somewhere, its a matter of time and where you started won't be where you end.
One can begin as a care giver and end as a professor of medicine #justsaying
One could start as a cleaner and end as a big CEO bigger than Dangote. #justsaying
Jobs are not automatic and there will always be more experienced Canadians pursuing that same big job you want.
You chose to leave your home to a foreign land then be ready to accept the other part of it.

bamshy: If you aren't coming for Masters (Not that it's superior here), think of a 2-year PGD program and have some good cash on you. I have seen a lot of people who wish those two things were done before coming here. TRV is just the beginning... All the best friends
I think the most important thing is for one to do a program that is of high demand. The level doesn't really matter for a start.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 5 by PlayPays: 1:03am On Dec 02, 2013
kayconsult: @ champion don't worry, you are on the right track if you are going in for a year PGD. There are lots of provincial nominee program for international students who are studying for their master or post graduate program, this depends on the province you intend schooling in. For instance, those that will be schooling in ontario can use the PNP to fast track there permanent residence permit.upon graudation and having gotten a job offer, your employer will fill a form called the pre-screen application form on your behalf, once this is done, you will then submit the form with other supplementary document to cic. Note the fee for internation student is $1,500,as soon as your application is positive, gbam, you will be a permanent resident holder with almost all the full benefits of a canadian citizen.

Jinnery: Hello House,

I am landed at last, all Glory to God and thanks house for all.

I also had the opportunity to clear my doubts about Point of Entry. U can actually land anywhr in CA. When u av ur TRV. I landed in Montreal and continued to toronto. Permit issued in Montreal for studies in Regina. The Quebec pass doesn't hold for a study visa. I have confirmed that. Hope that information helps some people. Cos u might jst get a cheaper airfare to some other airports in CA.

Just something to share with d house smiley
Welcome to Canada!
The bolded made me feel you actually meant PR all the same, you'll still be landed someday.
