Secondly, he has been taking frusemide and lisinopril to no avail. Surely the doctor who saw must have entertained either a renal or a cardiac problem and yet the problem remains unresolved.

Another strange thing is that this has lasted a year. I would think that if this were to be truly a renal or cardiac problem, the brother will be bed ridden by now or worse. His being relatively stable provokes another differential albeit uncommon.

All in all, a good history, physical examination and investigation will solve this mystery. Besides the renal and cardiac pathologies, hypothyroidism remains a strong differential. Would have added cushing syn to the list especially if he has been abusing steroids but that will come later after the above have been ruled out.

Sadly, there isn't much we can do for the op from our ends except to councel that he takes his brother to a good facility, preferably a tertiary institution and not some private clinic.

have your brother tell us all his symptoms and signs noticed by people and his doctors. he should also do LIVER FUNCTION TEST, ELECTROLYTES, UREA AND CREATININE, AS WELL AS ROUTINE BLOOD WORK (CBC/WBC) if possible he should have a CXR and Abdominal Ultrasound Scan to visualize the Kidneys....

I disagree with you on the Doctors perspective. If you however encounter such Doctors....please you can report to the appropriate authority.... though no doctor will be making a call or chatting to unmedical related case while a patient needs his urgent or emergency attention.

i strongly believe that FRSC should priorities by listing all dilapidated roads (federal, state, local, and even street) to the government and enforcing their so call force on the government to ensure that these roads are being fixed. every motorist pay road worthiness... funny?? is 80% of nigerian road worthy for our cars
they are emphasizing on speed limit, what of in the case of emergencies? to me instead of enforcing a speed limit device in people's car, they should do what other developed countries do(except we are not thriving to become 1) install a speed limit check device, traffic offender capture device and so on, and ensure these perpetrators pay their fines.
the earlier we understand that some of these laws imposed on masses should be voted for by the masses, it will be better for this country.

hey guys.... want to share this little disturbing rumor circulating about FRSC to start using fire arms.... please what is your take on this; i think Nigerians should be allowed to vote for this.... yes to carry arms or no for not to carry arm.

for me its a BiG NOOOOO; first why do they need fire arm? you are suppose to help keep the road safe by;
*writing reports of several bad roads in the country that need urgent attention
*enlightening the masses on road safety protocols like need for functioning break lights, pointer lights, fire extinguisher and lots more.
*cautioning offenders and possibly fining them if need be ( but seems FRSC is more of profitable organization than safety provider as they look for any little reason to fine some1)
*too numerous to mention and none of these obligations need use of weapon.....

above all i believe they should be thinkin of going digital as most country have done and not to be thinking of bearing fire arm....
