Great ..

It is important that consumers pay the actual cost of power for the plant to be sustainable..

This should encourage more states to invest in IPP projects

There are 91 cement companies in some countries, they pay for raw materials, they pay taxes, no tax waiver, no import waivers.
and they still make money. Tell your boss. He needs to do more.

Nigerians maybe quiet but not for long. Now Emefiele has siphoned all the dollars to him to build a refinery ? He built a 17 billion dollar refinery and has paid 70% of the loan back without selling a drop of petrol ?How did he pay the loan ? He got the money for free from CBN, most likely or some backdoor deals. Now Nigeria is transferring all these cost to the masses, when technically Nigeria owns that refinery, it was built with dollars meant for the whole country.

Not all Nigerians are fools, we know what is going on !!!!!!!
Na you help Dangote pay the loans abi...all these bear parlour talk

Oga..release the CSR projects of Shell..stop beating around the bush

I went to school on dual Mobil and Shell Scholarship, They were involved in a lot of CSR
Dangote doesnt do enough, I dont care if he is paying you to defend him.
To whom a lot is given, much more is expected.
The resources belong to 300 million Nigerians, not one private firm.
We might as well give him all the crude oil for free as well, now that he has used CBN subsidized dollars to build a refinery. That refinery technically belongs to Nigerians. FYI

And shell and Exxon mobile are doing enough?..

You are clearly a joker😂😂
After all the oil spillage.. partnering with looters to release manipulated oil production figures In order to pay less taxes and royalty to government..
These companies destroyed the environment they operate in and are gradually pulling out..you are saying nonsense..

None of them could build a working refinery..they come when steal the oil and sell..carry their money to their parent company in the US and UK..

You are a big fool..

You have a Nigerian that has risked everything and continuously invested in Nigeria far more than any shell or oil company in Nigeria..

He single handedly influenced a $19 billion refinery.. something shell couldn't do after all they declare from both oil and gas activities in bonny..

This is not about Dangote..by every means we need more home grown investors to rise in Nigeria..they are the only ones with the interest of Nigeria in mind ...every foreign company's goal is to as much as possible generate profit and send them out..

Lafarge was the first cement producers in Nigeria...ask your self..if you still see their products common despite raking billions from their gombe, calabar and ogun plants.. what is nestle doing..what is ur so called shell doing..

Isn't because they trained you..you open Ur big mouth and talk..
Go to ibese and Obajana..find out how many students are on sponsorship through Dangote academy and still collect stipends..

BUA runs a lot of scholarship in their Edo and Sokoto plants..what about innoson..

You are there licking the white man ass..

I still ask again..what are CSR projects of shell that beats Dangote or even BUA groups..this is a simple question you are still struggling to answer..

Shell cannot boast of a 10km road in Nigeria as CSR or tax credit.

Dangote has built over 80km of concrete roads in Lagos and Kogi ..BUA is building a 132km road in the north.. even the scholarship program of Dino Melaye beats shell.. grin grin

FG should de-register all the BDX operators in Nigeria.. then let all FX transactions be done only at the banks.

It's paining me how those in government don't know the power they wield.. CAC should sit up and start de-registering those bureau de change guys, then they'll sit up.

It will not work!..

Is it not better to import cement at the exchange rate where it'll be affordable to an extent than to be buying locally produced cement at 12 - 15k?.

Pride they say goes before a fall.. that Dangote wants to use pride to kill his business.

Rest.. BUA is even selling at a higher price..

With $1 going for N1826

And will reach 2k in less than a week..it can never be cheaper than the locally made ones..

Let the truth be told, for all that monopoly we give Dangote and his cohort, their presence should be better felt. Most investors assist the communities they make money from.

Please mention the investors in Nigeria aside Dangote that assists their community.. include what they have done .

You first told a lie and gave false accusations on an individual..after proving you wrong ..you now come and say..they should do more.. imagine?

Freaking rubbish, they just want to take advantage of the hardship to strangle the masses, imagine them agreeing over something that are produced here and the raw materials are being mined out here, omo our governments are curses

It doesn't end at the commodity "being produced here"

Go to the market and check anything that is produced in Nigeria and hasn't increased in price..I am waiting..

Even farm produces that have no business with dollar has more than double in just 3 years..so what are you saying?

Truth be told there are a lot of opportunist trying to exploit the chaos.

If not why would cement, getting free limestone (main raw material), getting free laterite

With cheap labour, not paying raw materials fee to government

Not paying to the states they are located

Not developing the states, they are situated in. OBAJANA is the largest in Africa, producing over 10 million tonnes per year !

No unionized workers, health insurance, benefits.

No community projects, with the money they make in Kogi, there should be a University built for Kogi state.

After all these freebies, they are increasing cement prices. Tinubu should set up a committees to review issuing more licenses to all monopoly business in Nigeria to prominent stakeholders and watch the price come down fast.
Any monopoly that hikes price, blame it on inadequate supply to meet the demand and go after their privileged monopoly

If this is how you reason then..it means every investor coming into Nigeria must build universities. Create unions for their workers? In private sector?..etc ..that is bullshit..

Are you aware that the there is a free training academy in Obajana..the road that connects Obajana to kabba was built by Dangote?

There are health insurances for staffs as well..
Don't say what you don't know

Cement manufacturers had to increase prices in order to pay their workers higher wages to refect increasing cost of living & to remain in business.

However the % increase in price was too much, but that's what you get in a monopoly.
So Govt needs to deregulate that sector & encourage more cement players.

No body is discouraging anybody..
The fact that there is a huge profit margin in cement is enough attraction for investors..

But somehow, they are not showing up..

It's left to the players to keep expanding..Dangote is building a new cement plant in Ogun state.. a company is building a 3 MTA plant in Kogi..

BUA just expanded their production capacity in Edo state..

Lafarge is doing absolutely nothing
