States don't have to depend on natural resources to thrive. This is the mistake we make. States will build hydropower plants and sell electricity to their neighbours, make money through agriculture, have state buses that convey passengers within and outside the state, etc. We just need creative minds to be in government. The worst of us work in public service... instead of the best.

This is the edge that rich countries have over poor countries. With the way the US and China are investing in technology, you won't even know that those two countries are the world's biggest exporters of crude oil.
