femicyrus: A member of NASS during a session in the house mentioned recently that Nigeria should enback on importation of cement to break the monopoly of dangote and rabiu.
Most of the members make comments based on Emotions..
There is no scarcity of cement.. cement going up is not as a result of insufficient supply..
The big players just increased their prices cuz they wanted to..
Importing it will only cost Nigeria more problems with forex
Elsueno: I could even understand, if it was the BUA group dude, at least that bros get some sympathy for Nigeria...But you see Dangote?, omoh na full blown CAPITALIST to d core.., He thinks in pure profit & monopolistic terms
Person wey dey take risks and borrow heavy from banks to invest in a shit hole system...make the same person come get pity for you?
If e easy why are there so little competition in his businesses... its because they know the risk in there .
Ask yourself for over 40 years Nigeria has been selling oil why have all the multinationals decided to drill for oil and sell raw.. why didn't they build refinery or you think refinery is restricted to government only..do you know the richest indian makes most of his money from his refinery..
Dangote took risk to invest 20 billion USD over 8 damn years..now he wants to begin selling ..make e come get pity for you? Dey play
JAWBONE: 1.1 trillion naira for Federal Capital Territory that is pretty much developed. What is Wike going to spend 1.1 trillion Naira on in one year?
There are other states and other sectors that need that money much more than the FCT. The Ministry of Science and Technology in the whole of Nigeria has a budget less than 100 billion naira. Ekiti State has a budget of just 159 billion naira for 2024. Almost the same amount Wike was given for personnel costs.
Tinubu has just handed Wike a settlement package for the role he played in 2023 and given him more money to prepare for 2027.
The same way he settled his son-in-law with FHA and 126 billion naira. He has been settling all his cronies since he took office.
We all know Tinubu is the grandfather of corruption in Nigerian politics but he should spend Nigeria's money as if there's tomorrow.
Lol..
This must be a joke..
Even that budget is small...bit atleast it can hell reduce the vast no. Of abandoned projects..
Una go just carry this north and south thing for head like it means anything.. If them like let them rebrand as south south...it just change anything...alot of northern states like borno, Kaduna ,Kano, plateau and even adamawa beats Benue hands down
psucc: Sir, you've just succeeded in saying nothing. Read and reread my comment or take it to your Primary school teacher to interpret it.
Tell us what HE Fr Alia is doing. You can cap that with pics, links, etc. That's how to defend your principal and not jumping from one post to the other accusing all of ignorance. How do we know if you don't tell us the much you know about Benue.
Stop the Killings, first!
The governor is Installing streetlights on every highway (state and federal) in makurdi. Yes mediocre but imagine a whole capital not a single road have functional street lights..
The first flyover to decongest traffic at a major roundabout is under construction.. another is planned at a junction just before the river Benue bridge thay will serve as a landmark....again mediocre..but Benue is the only northern state without a single flyover bridge..
Cyberterror: The south east don't need another state. They are already cheating other regions with their five tiny states that can collectively fit into one state in other regions. For example, the 5 states can all fit into Oyo state. Niger state can swallow those five states, five times. Igbos think they can outsmart others with this ridiculous demand of a sixth state, it is just a ploy to cry marginalization in order to get more patronage from the federal government. If there is a new state that needs to be created in Nigeria, it is only Southern Kaduna, at least to compensate the Gbagyi for taking FCT from them.
Kaduna is in the north west which has 7 states already..it is senseless to add another one..
Creating a new state in SE is only fair and just ..
It will help almost balance politics as there are 19 northern states and just 17 states in the south..
Plus..the question of creating states has absolutely nothing to do with land mass...
SE deserves another state between Enugu and Ebonyi
worksmart: Never accept or buy any food being supplied by Dangote ! He is close partnership with evil eugenic Bill Gates is a red flag that should never be ignored.
onuman: Lol. You have not completed this Abuja-Kaduna-Kano superhighway by Julius Berger; not started its southern equivalent that is supposed to start from the coastal area of the Niger delta region across most of the region through rest of the SE region into Abuja. Yet, you have jumped into another most expensive Lagos-Calabar coastal highway on a most difficult marshy coastal terrain?
By the way, have your people not heard that railways, not motorways, are the most used and most efficient travel methods in today's world?
I know you will foolishly bring SE..
FYI section 2 and section 3 of the Abuja Kaduna zaria Kano road is completed
Their focus is section 1 which is Abuja to Kaduna..the. Delay is caused by funding and bandits..
Second..there is no coastal road to SE... please what you have is port Harcourt to Enugu road which covers most part of SE..FYI that road is under construction...inshort section 4 which is port Harcourt to aba handled by CCECC is moving fast ..a section of it is 10 lanes..
Section one which runs from enugu handled by Arab contractors is still moving..
In Nigeria, the roads are top priorities before the rail.. This is common sense..you fix the road then build rail as an alternative..
Everything that moves on rail will move on road..but not everything that moves on the road will move on the rail (I am talking about the feasibility aspect of logistics)...this is why Lagos Ibadan railway is not even being used up to 10% of capacity...
EconomistXplain: We dont need this joke of a highway...have people noy been going to calabar via this routes even as we speak via road...?
If he is serious, he should commit funds for a railway for same route...not this, unnecessary project...
Nonsense!!!
If you have sense you will understand that a road is of higher priority... Despite Lagos Ibadan railway..has that reduced the traffic of the main highway?..
