Don't you see US always accusing China of intentionally devaluing their currency?
Example, if Togo devalues their currency you'd be going there to buy stuff and vacations, but if they inflate their currency you won't go

So how many don enter naija to buys stuffs and do vacations

Exactly.. MASSIVE PROFITS as well as losses

At the end of the day it's still profit..read before you comment ignorantly..

If there are more massive profits than loss..then it is still profits over all

Please take the pains to do some research before coming online to disgrace yourself and those who paid for your education.

You are the highly ignorant one..

Go and check the profits declared by these companies and how their stock rises

The only time they had issues was in 2015/2016 where oil prices fell below the production cost..but that didn't last long and..
The years of profits were able to make up for the losses..

Do you think it has taken Exxon mobile and Aramco a century to reach the height they are in..

Even Folorunsho..a tailor.. immediately she was given an oil block in Agbami..became the richest woman in the Africa..
Someone that was just sowing clothes..

With her oil money she has built two towers in Lagos using Julius Berger..

Who was Arthur Eze before he got his block..

You just gave a picture of a lawless and badly managed country. If any other country has the kind of leaders we have in Nigeria, you would get the same outcomes. Don't blame the people, all blame go to the leaders.
I bet you, not up to 5% of the people of Niger delta are involved in oil theft. But I am certain that most of our leaders are criminals.

Exactly... don't blame the people..blame leaders.

As if the leaders are not the same as the people..

Do you think, even your kind will not do such if you get to their seat..

As terrible as Major Gen. M. Buhari administration is, did you read of multinational companies leaving Nigeria like the way they're doing now in Tinubu's disastrous administration which is just 9months old? Who wants to continue business operations when the economic team of the present administration only knows how to blame past administration and give excuses?

When GEJ was in Power, Nigeria was ranked number one economy hub in Africa, beating the ever flourishing South Africa.

So Mr clownish explainer, kindly sit this one out.

If not because of you feeling inferior..

You should be happy they are leaving..

How do you derive joy in foreigners eating from your own resources...how dumb..

They didn't say..they are shutdown..they are selling.. meaning another company.. hopefully indigenous will buy and run it..

A Nigerian consortium is buying shell onshore facilities..one of the investors is Walter Smith..they have a refinery in imo..

These are the only ones that will continue to invest in Nigeria..

Lafarge was the first cement plant in Nigeria.. despite make billions..they refused to reinvest it.. instead they took everything abroad .. it took Dangote and Bua to come into and invest constantly till they beat Lafarge..

Mumu people will come and shout monopoly.. nonsense

You take like a child. The only reason the French want out is because business is no longer profitable. Mind you, Totalenergies continue to operate in countries with tougher environmental laws than Nigeria.
For businesses, it only boils down to profit. You should be asking, what is making the Nigerian business environment unprofitable and not trying to defend the indefensible.

You just made a senseless point..

Oil anywhere is highly profitable..

If there is anything driving them away ..it is the bunkery and sabotage by militants..

Government doesn't tamper with their revenue in fact they are completely immune to any economic issues of Nigeria as they sell their crude to the international market only in USD..

The fairly high oil prices guarantees their profits..

They are even the ones who cheat the government by reporting low sales to loot what suppose to go to the government account..

They are all running to offshore where supervision is less and militants can't near them.

that’s what I mean in summary.

Floating the naira or subsidy should not ruin us like this.

Rather it’s the lack of indigenous businesses and wickedness of some. We are importing unnecessary

Don't deceive yourself...

There is nothing to be surprised about..

The floating of naira and removal of subsidy is going to take us even further than this..

We have always lacked industries and imported..

There is nothing we are importing that is highly unnecessary..
.
More than 45% of our Forex goes into importing refined petroleum..is that unnecessary?..no

What bulaba should have done is ensure all refineries.both Dangote and NNPC are running first...and invest into our oil industry to pump enough oil to cater for these local refineries and still export to maintain our meagre Forex inflows..

This will automatically save up 45% of our reserves..

Lol...

You probably don't use a dom account..

Go to any top banks and ask to withdraw your dollars.. they will give it to you in cash unless they don't have any in-stock..

It is only when you provide a naira account to someone and foreign currency was sent to it then the bank will make a conversation and pay you in naira

I was visibly angry about that, to the extent that I was tempted to create a thread about how wicked Nigeria's leaders and Service Chiefs can be.

A very big shame to Nigeria that a whole national team was playing, and there was no light to watch them play, if not for generator,
not even as though that the economy is friendly enough to purchase the premium spirit.

All those idiots where shouting emiefele this.. emiefele that..

His biggest mistake was trying to strangle vote buying to prevent druggie from accessing power but failed...hence why he is being dealt with mercilessly..

His approval for cheap forex to Dangote was to fast track the refinery completion..

Lol. Gibberish.

These are part of the reason the CBN said we've dollarized our economy. And how does that stop anyone from earning in dollar. Earn your dollar whereever you want but you are getting the naira equivalent in Nigeria: that's what the CBN is saying.

You lots are irredeemably sick. You've castigated the government for the bad naira strenght. This is one of the way naira is going to gain back purchasing power and you still dey complain. Dem swear for una?!

You all want to earn in dollar, keep money in dollar, there are even hookup girls in Abuja and Lagos who insist on getting paid in dollar - are we in the USA.

Even out banks keep ridiculous amount of dollars. Where do you expect naira strength to come from?

Una never see anything.

You must be very stupid...I am certain...you are foolish idiots who doesn't earn a single dollar..

You supported the stupid president when he decided to float the naira especially when there is a supply issue...how do you float a currency you fully know can not sustain itself with supply and demand..

Buhari and Emifiele and a thousand times better than this you, cardoso and Ur daft president..

If then ..dollar influx were not coming in..but that government knew how to stabilise rates and only reduce value slightly when the burden of maintaining the rate goes beyond bearable..

They also knew how that removing fuel subsidy when you are still importing is bogus and doesn't make sense... You worsen the pains of the people when cost rises...and you can't guarantee supply because you still import..

This is why the government at that time postponed it twice..

You druggy came in without critical thinking and messed everything up..
Has the supply of dollar increased since he floated it.
Lagos now has fuel scarcity..

It's a good policy to bolster the Naira, IMTO fund is different from inflows to Domiciliary acct. But, the bank that convert my USD to NGN, should be able to provide me with USD if the needs arises, especially for basic online transactions. Maybe it is time to reactivate USD transaction on Naira card.

Exactly...cuz I can't earn in USD and you give me naira...then when I want to carry out an international payment with USD ..The bank start speaking grammar
