Hello Ancestors on this forum.I hail you all Please I want to ask a question and it is an observation.I noticed that anytime a colleague of mine help with transportation he always wants to drop me at my doorstep.Dont get me wrong as I don't have any issues with that but recently myself and him travelled to a far distance to go and work and on our return I felt for him as we have been driving for almost two hours,so I asked him to drop me in a near by road that I can easily access my house so he too can go home to his family and rest but he still insisted on taking me to my doorstep. So this arouse my curiosity if it is wrong to drop people on the road in the UK or any other consideration for this culture shock.
Pls what do you think?

Before the Lead Ancestor, Sir Lexus comes to answer your questions, have you tried finding out if the Landlord is still alive?

Exactly what came to my mind when reading this post!

While there may not be much prospects in those listed fields, anything can still happen.

I personally know someone who is a dependent of her husband on student visa that recently got sponsored as a Human Resources Officer, despite having few years experience no masters degree and professional certification in progress. She was able to secure the role with the company being that she was in the UK.
Apparently the company was short staffed in that department and I even tried to recommend a friend's wife to apply from Nigeria but she wasn't selected because she was not in the country (something that borders on not qualified/eligible for relocation expenses). Meanwhile someone else who just arrived on dependant visa of her husband was selected for that same role (that someone from Nigeria was denied of) and is in progress of the interviews.

All in all, prospects may be slim, hopefully the individuals can break barriers when they get selected for a role in their respective fields.

Boss I am not disputing your take like that o, just throwing a different view. I am still fasting lol.

Sorry , pls is the dependant being sponsored already or s/he is progressing in interview. You said the person got sponsored and you later went ahead to say progressing in interviews.it will be good you Clarify.

Ok so far my spouse and I have been looking for accommodation that would accommodate a couple and also close to school.

All the letting we have viewed and made contact are not very welcoming to couples.

At this point we are tired and we are supposed to land Wales on Sunday.

If we can get an accommodation that will take a couple close to USW, it would really be helpful.

Thank you

Try private hostels around your school since it's only you and your husband.
You will get

Please send me a copy of the five page document

Thanks

Welcome to the abroad. You didn't indicate visa you came in with. I'm assuming student? You usually can't do any work without your NI and you require DBS for only a few jobs. You can do volunteer jobs for a few weeks as you have been advised and that will count as part of your UK experience.
I wish you all the best.

NB- I have a 5 page document i titled "First 5 years in the UK as a Nigerian Expatriate (Migrant)". Although it's for skilled workers, others may find it useful. Let me know via pm if you need it.

Hello NLs
I have an issue that I can't wrap my head around.I came into the country towards the end of last year on tier 4.I applied for jobs and got several rejections ,so I joined an agency which gives me job as they have ,of which my 20 hrs is not even sure.I continued applying for jobs as I wanted a company that I will fixed with my sure 20hrs.
I got one that invited me for interview and I attended and was subsequently sent an invitation for induction and for final check on RTW.Now today they are sending me a message that unfortunately they cannot move my application to interview stage etc.
Please I am confused as per why they will send for induction and take it back and are they discriminating against international students on Tier 4 or what. This is really getting to me.
Please all advise
