PoliticsRe: Few Pics From Imo State by PointB: 7:25pm On Sep 24, 2012
Ricky_Ross: Thanks for the positive comment. I am quite sure that Okija of a guy is from Anambra, I would like him to list with pictures the achievement of his own state governor under 2 years so we can compare him with Rochas government under 1 year. Nobody is saying Rochas is perfect, but he is among the best leaders we have in Nigeria today. ROCHAS IS WORKING, I WAS IN OWERRI LAST WEEK I CAN ATTEST TO THIS.

Its very sad that some foools who have never stepped into Owerri recently will stay behind their computers and talk rubbish about a city they know nothing about. Owerri is by far cleaner and better than onithsa or any Anambra city. Imo State have indutsries as well, you dont expect us to be selling dirty second hand clothes [s]like you do in that dirty slum called Onitsha? [/s]

The problem i have with rochas is that he is doing so many projects all at the same time. I dont know who is advising him, but how can you be doing 3, 4 or 5 roads in every town in Imo State all at the same time? I mean, Imo is not as rich as Rivers or Lagos, so where is the funding going to come from? In my village we have 4 new road projects from Rochas, my maternal home has 3, some villages have up to 5 roads and I keep asking, WHERE IS THIS MONEY COMING FROM?

As i write now many of the road projects has been abandoned by the contractors bc of funding problem. Some say funding problem, some say because of rainy season. From December we will know what is really holding these road projects.

I am from Ikeduru LGA and its on record Ohakim never constructed any road in IKEDURU and many other LGA's in Imo State, yet some fools still think Ohakim tried? How did he try apart from constant CNN advert? I remember i was in Dubai one certain time and i saw Imo State advert where we had bridges and sky scrappers like NYC? I couldnt believe my eyes, i thought Ohakim has transformed Imo only for me to come home and not see any single project. I am sure am not the only one that saw those CNN adverts, am sure Ohakim paid millions of dollars for such adverts to deceive himself and not Imolites.
Nice points raised but you can still do it without denigrating Onitsha. By the way the jury is still out whether Okija_juju is actually Igbo. Words on the street have it that he shares similarities with and perhaps lineage with alj_harem, the chameleon.
PoliticsRe: Why Should The North Be Allowed To Rule In 2015? by PointB: 6:54pm On Sep 24, 2012
van bonattel: in truth, none, but that does not mean they wont be up for offer on the polls!
Thanks for the honest answer. They will no doubt be polled, in their numbers, if history is anything to go by. But the point of this thread, if I am correct, is that the Northern leadership should concentrate on building capacity (human capital development) rather than seeking power at the center for the sake of it. SE/SS, and to some extent the SW did not depend on central government for most of the success recorded in HDI.

Personally, I think the North will benefit more for being away from power for a little while longer. Power at the center has created to much complacency in the Northern region, to the extent that basic things were left undone, or perhaps postponed to a later date. The irony is that, if power goes back to the North, the scream of marginalization will increase from the South, and perhaps the North Central to the extent that attending to this 'noise' will distract from the problem the 'North' sought to solve with power at the centre!

Ojukwu for his role in the civil war mainly.
Rochas is just a new kid on the block. I bet you know little of nothing about Igbo leadership.

Good.
So let me ask you. Which current crop of Northern leader would like to see in the poll?

These dullards remind me this saying by our people "Okuko na-arogoro ite onu, chetekwe mma gburu ya" meaning (The chicken frowns at the cooking pot, ignoring the knife that killed (is killing) it). mumus
Olodo,
You open up the yansh of your Northern elders for us to throw darts. Why blame the players, rather than the game. Is it our fault that commonsense didn't tell you that 'he who bring home ant infested woods, invites lizards?

You open a thread to denigrate Igbo leadership, alas it turns out that North has no note worthy leader. How ironic!

sheyguy: Some SE leaders compared to the rest in a bid to strike that common denominator the relatively performing ones have.
lol. Silly! grin grin

The only none performing SE governors are Elechi, and Orji. I doubt if Chime, and Peter Obi fit into this 'Northern' breed Igbo leadership crap. That leaves out Rochas, It is incumbent upon you and the Op, that Rochas zeal is due to some 'elusive' traits he picked up in the North, when zealousness and passion abound in the SE.

The question really is an attempt to justify why the current crop of Northern leadership should be allowed to steer the ship of the nation in 2015? Do you have an idea, a justification?

Germannig: If we had strong, forward-looking and effective leadership at the federal level, that would have served as a motivation for the states to do better.

As long as the feds are not showing leadership, the rest of the nation remains comatose

The little leadership shown by Obasanjo and now Jonathan is the reason why some state governors, especially those in the south, are beginning to buckle up and deliver.

The incompetence and backwardness of the past leaders at the federal level, most of whom have been Northerners, have rendered the entire nation backwards.
Ironically, while the South are picking up the gauntlet, and trying to outdo one another in performance, the region which held power for aeon, doing zilch with it is hardly seeing the necessity of delivery, at local level, to their people, even the most basic of thing like compulsory quality education.

It's sad!

Again compared to who? SW leaders or Northern leaders? Certainly there MUST be a basis for comparison. right?
PoliticsRe: Why Should The North Be Allowed To Rule In 2015? by PointB: 5:49pm On Sep 24, 2012
Guy I tire oo.

It's sad that the current crop of Northern leadership have failed in the simplest of task. Aside from screaming daily for more revenue, and asking for return of power to the North, hardly can you associate any Northern leader with any work.

In the South, it a big fight between Chime, Akpabio, Ameachi, Rochas, Fashola, Oshimole, Mimiko for the position of undisputed champion in the field of delivery. This healthy competition is the subject of daily discourse down south. But what do you have in the North? Naysayers!

Nay to State Police
Nay to regionalism
Nay to Fiscal Federalism
Nay to National Identity card
Nay to PIB
Nay to Polio Eradication
Nay to Equality is states per zone
Nay to Western Education

All they want is money, more oil money with zero accountability!

That's the crop of leadership we have in the North.
PoliticsRe: Ndigbo Must Look Northward,Westward, Diaspora For The Next Crop Of Igbo Leaders by PointB: 5:35pm On Sep 24, 2012
sheyguy: May be the SEners who have lived a substantial part of their lives up north tend to appreciate that spirit of sacrifice that is found in the average northerners. The Northern leaders have looted the region no doubt but there are lessons to be learnt from their followers - contentment and sacrifice comes to mind here .
And you are going to explain how content people are aiding and abetting in terrorism? How bombing churches, killing christian, and youth corpers equates to contentment on part of the ordinary people in the North. While you are at it, give example of sacrifices made by current crop of Northern leaders. Atiku, IBB, Buhari, Ciroma, etc readily come to mind here? Perhaps the current crop of Northern governors have exhibited immense sacrifice. Give us their names and deed of sacrifice. It is not enough to join in a chorus, show conviction now!
PoliticsRe: Ndigbo Must Look Northward,Westward, Diaspora For The Next Crop Of Igbo Leaders by PointB: 5:28pm On Sep 24, 2012
ndu_chucks: The topic is about where the next crop of competent Igbo leaders should be pooled from. The region in focus is the SE and if you want to do a comparative analysis or discuss another region, feel free to open a thread. If you are too intellectually inferior to discuss a topic because it is uncomfortable for you to discuss, feel free to vamoose.

Your intellectual superiors such as Ogagu98 and Onlytruth will soon show up with objective discussion of the topic.
My guy sharrap there!

This topic has East, North, and West linked in one fell swoop. Is it that that you don't understand your own topic? Does it have anything to do with your herding cattles hundreds of kilometer towards Ogun state, in search of free grazing land?

If you are too daft, due to paucity of grey matter to understand what I wrote, let me explain in two simple questions:

Does breeding almajiri; exporting polio, and being backward in every know human development (as the case of the NE/NW) show a sign of better leadership culture of Northern leadership? Does scoring comparatively higher in almost all know Human Development Indice (as in case of SE) equate to poor leadership?
PoliticsRe: Ndigbo Must Look Northward,Westward, Diaspora For The Next Crop Of Igbo Leaders by PointB: 5:02pm On Sep 24, 2012
So how do we approach this advise by my aboki?

Should we start by reminding him that if indeed the North breed good leaders as he imply, Nigeria will not have 10 million almajiri peddling bombs at N7,000 per explosion? Should will remind Ndu_chucks, that eradicating polio is not rocket science, as the wise leaders of the North make it appears? So the Igbo's are not politically savvy? Does that explain why the Northern leaders are angling to lead Nigeria in 2015, meanwhile, they are not paying strict attention to the monsters growing around them, readying to consume them should they fail in the simple task?

Igbo leader are promising Igbo Biafra, pray what are Northern leaders promising their followers? 72 virgins? Grazing reserved? Niger Delta oil money?

Guy, we can go on and on, but between the politically unsavvy Igbo leadership who boast arguably the most educated, many brilliant minds in various fields of endeavour who are most enterprising population in Nigeria, and the politically savvy Northern leadership, whose leadership industries churns out millions almajiris and bomb clutching 'Isha allah fatalists' and terrorists, I would enthuse - give me the former!

Okija_juju: Nwokem, kedu?! I piss on Imo State because they are so blind that they dont see that Rochas has done nothing for them.. I mean, building hotels for who to sleep in?! How many Imo state civil servants can afford to lounge in that hotel?! How many of them would ever be able to near the gate of the 'Commissioners Estate', talkless of living there?!

Nna, the issue here is what has Rochas done in the area of sustainable development as it affects the common man in Imo State.. the answer is NADA!!

I didnt bring my camera cord, I would have uploaded some of my pictures from my trip to Calabar via Akwa Ibom.. Let me show you what true development and a working Government looks like..

Pisses all over Rochas Okorocha & returns to Upper Iweka.. angry
Bottom line, your grouse for Rochas give you no right to insult the good people of Imo State. Find a better way to channel you hatred and frustration with the Governor, and stop insulting the state and it's people. It's a matter of commonsense! Please show some.

Okija_juju: Flyover collapsing?! 'Odili Government"... TIMARIV ridden?!! 'A worthwhile nuisance'.... Crime Strangulating?!! "Now you are just talking shiit'... Polution Choking?! 'Now you've started manufacturing shiit'.... Slum Swallowing?! 'Now you've started selling shiit'.. River State (Port-Harcourt) may be an under-achieving State, but My brother, IMO state and Rochas dont even measure up to either Obio Apkor Local Government Area or even Omoku Township..

Enjoy the rubbish that is Rochas.. Commissioners lodge! With State money!! While the civil servants proper and the citizens live in squalor. I have been to IMO state! Barely two months back.. If what I saw is the definition of 'a Working Government', then Imo States problem is not the government but the people..
And this is a very good reason to piss all over Imo State, right?

Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State

By Christopher Isiguzo

The Igbo Youth Movement (IYM), an umbrella body for youths in the South-east geo-political zone of the country, yesterday took a swipe at Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State over a statement credited to him to the effect that Igbos do not deserve an additional state this period.

The youth group in a statement by its President, Elliot Uko, noted that the statement was not only disturbing but “horrible” having come from a highly placed public officer as governor in the country.

While demanding an unreserved apology from the governor, the IYM noted that making such statement at this critical point when the nation is faced with myriads of challenges threatening its corporate existence was completely antithetical to the unity of the country.

“The Igbo Youth Movement and well-meaning Nigerians read with dismay the shocking vituperations of Kwankwaso to the effect that the South-east does not deserve an additional state. It is very disturbing, that such a horrible comment could come from a governor.

“Such jaundiced comments, though quite unfortunate, serves as a confirmation that the same section of Nigeria whose military wing muddled up Nigeria and foisted an unkind structure on the country, are not only unrepentant and unapologetic, but are surprisingly committed to the disintegration of Nigeria as their refusal to correct the deliberate imbalance would lead to an early end of the Nigerian experiment,” the group noted.

While seeking for an apology to Ndigbo from the governor without delay, the group stated that the people of the South-east zone do not need anybody to tell them “who our enemies are from Kwankwaso’s stance. Even the military who imposed this unjust and unfair states and local government structures know that it cannot endure.”

According to the group, “Kwankwaso and his ilk only make it impossible for Ndigbo to vote any Northerner as President as, no sane man will vote for his enemy. Kwankwaso lives in a world of his own as Nigerians are unanimous that Ndigbo needs two additional states for the sake of justice and equity.”

To be honest, one thing I rate about the real Igbo intellectuals on NL like: eGuerilla, Igbo2011, Cap28 etc.(and I'm not surprised they're all Pan-Africanists) is that they speak the truth... You can learn a thing or two from your brothers...
lol. Which Igboman is into the NL pseudo-intellectual bull-crap. Let me laugh in intellectual.

Guy, the real reason why there are alot of Igbo in Lagos is simply because, after the civil war, Igboland economy was mostly destroyed. To survive and thrive you have to look for opportunities elsewhere. Incidentally, the means (economical, scholarly, etc) seemed concentrated in Lagos (the then capital) of Nigeria. As Nigerian, here we are! As soon as Nigeria ceases to be, we will consider going back. Until, then we are eagerly looking forward to the operation of the Ibadan-Lagos rail-line. It will further our inroad into the biggest city in SW.

We have nevertheless rebuilt our homeland, and are still rebuilding. I guess you have seen the Enugu Thread. Peter Obi has done really well for Anambra state, and Rochas is receiving rave review. Depending on whether you see Amaechi as Igbo or not you can pass your judgement.

On political front, no ethnic group has fared any better than the SE, unless you count coup plotting, and electoral fraud as acme of political sagacity! Besides, never lose sight of the fact that 'individualistic' SE'ners gave GEJ block votes! You need to think again, lest you rest on your oars, reveling in your phyric victory!

I'll probably work to organize herdsmen to dare authorities to enforce this rule. Nonesense!!!
Fulani are not banned from traveling to Ogun or any part of the Nigeria. However, it is the cattle herders that are suspended. I see no problem here; no right violation. The threat of use of force is mutual. On one side there will be dagger wielding cattle herders, on the other side AK47 wielding soldier boys, so let the force resistance begin.
