OAM4J: 1st, and as I have said many times, Jarus and I dont post topics on home page, Admin and supermod do. We only recommend.Take it it easy bros, It doesn't matter whether you answer same question a million times; we will still make our requests, and pester you severally. You are a 'public servant' as far as Nairaland is concerned, so please stop giving us excuses (afterall you are one the people complaining that the President is full of excuses). You can asked Seun for more powers, or offer your resignation if the job is too much for you. Bottomline, Nairalanders will bombard you with request, genuine or otherwise. We expect you to entertain all of them (or all of us). Ignore us without rational explanation, we will make up one and run with it; it's as simple as that. Anyway let me stop here. Because I need you to take care of this troll: https://www.nairaland.com/969650/igbos-boko-haram before another conflagration ensue. |
silica: El-Rufai's First wife have packed out of his house following revealation that the man sacrifced their first daughter to further his political career not as President, but SGF. If the man can go to that extent how can he tell me he is a saint and innocent. Some of these men that have sold their soul for earthly gains can not be trusted. They want to always remain in the limelight to maximise their sacrifice. These issues have to be deliberated to know if we have become sacrificial lamb or fowl for some of these desperate politicians.funny stuff, I wish I can say whether the whole story has merit or not; it might just be worth investigating. But what is not in doubt is that El Rufia is not a saint. Whether he has the blood of his daughter on his head/hand, I cannot say. funny stuff ![]() |
^^^^ Na wa oo my brother. I can imagine what you are passing through to get this thread on the FP. I only wonder what it will cost the MODs and Admins of Nairaland to oblige your little request, perhaps in a pretentious show of fairness and balance. But some of these things are as usually termed 'complicated', even when the very obvious reasons stare us boldly in the face. This too shall pass! |
@topic, I do not subscribe to the suggestion that 'normal' christian should attack 'normal' Muslims. But I do understand there is a group of radicals who called themselves - Akhwat Akwop! Now this group is not affiliated with any known Christian groups (they are not a menber of CAN), and are no way doing what they are doing in the name of Christ. As such, if Akhwat Akwop decided to go on a mosque bombing spree on fridays, salah celebration, or attack any Muslim gathering, etc, does that imply that Christians are attacking Muslims? The answer is no. So what happened in Kaduna, the base of Akhwat Akwop, is simply reverse Boko Haram! As Muslims denies association with Boko Haram while some Muslims (who of course are not acting in the name of Islam) provide support, so should Christian deny association with Akhwat Akwop. Any Christian who provide tactical support for Akhwat Akwop, is doing so in the interest of himself, and his family/relative, or neighborhood (which is very understandable). But let us 'Christian' desist from claiming responsibility for attacked carried out by Akhwat Akwop! |
We call on Nigerians to recall those words of Buhari and note how those words have incited the recent events in Kaduna. But perhaps more damning is Buhari's loud silence when all around him in Kaduna extremists are fulfilling his prophecy. Does Buhari's silence mean consent?hmmmn, Buhari! The blood of the dogs and baboons is continually splashed on the street, I guess Buhari is a fulfilled man. Any way, the histories of revolutions are often rife with the tales of the revolutionists head decorating the stake. Buhari undisguised desires for Nigeria to burn because of his ambition is well documented. The raging fire is getting closer and closer to his home - I hope he tarries. Perhaps he would lose a limb, an eye, or an ear; perhaps he would lose his his head! Perhaps, the raging fire may yet consume him, in whole, while he lay in his very 'quiet' slumber. What is certain though, is that Nigeria is gradually approaching river Rubicon, whether we cross that river or not is a different ball game. But things will never be the same again! Nigeria as we know it, is clinically dead, because Buhari lost elections for the third time in row! |
jmaine: I can see the usual pack of fanatical hate filled ediots who tag themselves as the sulking "opposition" or "progressives" giving themselves a back pat over nothing . . . . When has the "usual" Boko Haram threat to unleash violence suddenly become an exclusive breaking news to those who are desperate to feel vindicated . .+1000 Truly well said! You know those loons very well, sir. |
Some of these things are very complicated. At times in life people who scream the loudest about blue murder, are actually behind some of the most dastard of these murders. A typical example is (Dis)Honorable Farouk Lawan who after screaming, shouting himself hoarse, and parading himself as Mr. Integrity, was caught stuffing dollars in his pants, and cap, in one of the most shameful and shocking act of corruption in Nigeria history! If Farouk with little or no known history of corruption can fall abysmally, perhaps then, only fools will trust El Rufia, who with his documented corruption as FCT Minister, stands to benefit massively from the fall of GEJ administration. |
odumchi: To supplement what I wrote earlier...That song is very deep; and pregnant with a lot of unsaid words. The huge number of our brethren living outside Igboland whether by choice or default should start looking inwards and asking the very tough question: What happens if Nigeria implodes? If you wake up in the morning and it's 1967 all over again, how will you feel, what will you do? Answers to these question will guide rational individuals to make plan, and preparations. |
Beaf: Sule Lamido is one of the best governors in Nigeria today.Unfortunately, I am yet to see any pointer to the bolded. I see him as the mouthpiece of the fellows who would happily deprive the Niger Delta of their meager 13% derivative; I am yet to see the development agenda he had pursued in his state. By and large, I don't trust him further than I can throw him. |
June 16, 2012 by Sunday Aborisade, Akure Leave a Comment A prominent governorship aspirant of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Ondo State, Chief Felix Rawa, on Friday defected to the Labour Party. Rawa was the House of Representatives candidate for Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the 2011 election. He based his decision to dump the ACN on the alleged dictatorship of its leadership. Specifically, Rawa frowned at the alleged zoning of the governorship ticket to the North senatorial district without consulting party members. He said the development showed irresponsibility of the party’s leadership. He said, “A situation where someone will stay in Lagos and decide who rules Ondo and other South-West states would not be tolerated in our own state. “The people should be allowed to decide who rules them and not through imposition. The leadership of the party had approached me and told me that it was the turn of the oil producing area of the state to produce the next governor. “I was told that since our people had been marginalised by the previous governments, I should come and contest as governor.” Rawa said since the party lost the last general election, he had been spending money in order to mobilise party members, believing that he would pick the governorship ticket. He said, “I was disappointed when the leadership summoned a meeting in Lagos where the decision to zone the governorship seat was taken without consulting me and other leaders of the party in the state. “My team and I were about the first group of politicians to hoist ACN flag in Ondo State and extensively worked for its spread based on sound principles. We plan to be devoted to fighting poverty and empowering the teeming people of the state. “We mustered the courage to also run for the governorship of Ondo State. But it is amazing to note that the internal and participatory democracy we all sought is totally in abeyance with an anti-climax of imposition. “The real ideas, ideals and philosophy of ACN is already betrayed, misplaced and buried with its music and content.” Rawa said he decided to join the LP and work for the reelection of the incumbent governor, Olusegun Mimiko, because of his impressive performance in the past three years. http://www.punchng.com/news/ondo-acn-gov-aspirant-defects-to-lp/ |
Ground breaking, and history event in Osun state! Laugh wan tear my belly! Beaf: @PointBI was using my phone then, I didn't see clearly it was just a single block! I thought it was even a corner stone. Damn! Did he say he was building a mega market! That single block must be block-buster, judging from the size of the crowd! ![]() Mega market? I am not an expert in building, but looking closely at that foundation (without enough concrete support at the base), can this foundation support a poly tank? Perhaps, it's for chicken shed! Mega market? Let me borrow one of Beaf's phrase, "laugh wan scatter antelope legs!" ![]() Osun begins construction of multi-billion naira international marketon quicksand! ![]() |
Ivynwa: Are you serious Mr. Mike? The boko haramists have gotten on the nerves of us all but christians should chill a bit please and not kill the moslems. Don't forget that they also killed their fellow muslims, somebody make them stop. How did we arrive here? Jesus Christ! What is all these mayhem?Perhaps, it will be much better if the Christians youth kill a few Christians, while targeting the mosque. That way it will be justified as 'neutral' attack? |
It has often been said that Boko Haram does not have the support and mandate of the ordinary muslim folks, let me also say that as a christian, the kaduna youth do not have my mandate as christian. But as a normal person, shorn of my garb of Christianity, I could very well be there with these boy, letting out my frustration, and helping the christians even the odds. Eye for an eye, they say make the world go blind. A blind North might just be a peaceful one! |
Another of those topics yet again. @Op What kind of revolution? Military coup? It won't succeed in the SS/SE, unless you are ready for civil war and secession! Mass Riot? Demonstration? Well that could happen in SW,NW, NE. Those in the NC, SS, and SE are not as disenchanted as the former group of Zones. Militancy? Boko Haram is currently doing that, and you are welcome to join them. The ND have given up that, at least majority? Ballot Box? Well 2015, is the next election, and we are willing to wait! Any back door removal of the president will be frontally resisted! Beaf has said it severally, hold your councillor, chairman, reps, senators, and governor to account! Revolution is for the ideal situation, Nigeria is not ripe for revolution! |
Congratulation Gbawe, after just two years as Governor of Osun, Aregbesola has laid foundation for the construction of a Mega Market. All critics of Aregbesola should pls cut the rascal a slack! Do you know what is involved in laying foundation for a market? Yes O-market! That market foundation stone laying is unparalleled. After just two years, Aregbe has laid the foundation for a market! I mean even though we see two stones, it is 'ground breaking' (again no pun intended.) I rejoice with the people of Osun state on this epochal event! Wonderful. |
Fhemmmy: This is Mega?Lol. You didn't get the joke. Anyway, that is what his supporters would have us believe. Hehehehehehe |
Kudos to Innoson Motors, and good one Nigerian Bank of Industry for nominating Innoson Motor. About time we started promoting own own. |
Abeg add Obj, Bode George, Bankole, Tafa Balogun, Ibori (from prison) to the mega merger. These guys unque skills will surely help the merger capture Nigeria. |
At this rate the merger is gradually living up to Lamido's label of opposition parties as 'Sanctuary of Failures.' Sad. I hope they keep SS/SE out of this idiocy, the seeks out the likes of Atiku, and IBB. People that even the PDP have marginalised for obvious reasons. |
^^^ Spot on. The first step in fighting fraud in the down stream sector of the Petroleum industry is total cessation of subsidy on fuel consumption and complete deregulation. Some have argued that palliative should be in place before this is done. While there is a lot of merit to that argument, I am of the opinion that certain palliative will become another conduit pipe for perpetuation of fraud. In this regard, the 'palliative' should focus mainly of continual development of alternative mass transport system such as the railways, and improving the water transport system. Opening more access road in the rural areas (as some governors are doing) and maintaining existing road is also important (palliative. Beyond these, what the people truly need is power supply - uninterrupted at best, but 14 - 18 hours daily is a good start. While it might be difficult to achieve these 'palliatives' quick enough, it would be much quicker if government would not spend over 800 billion yearly paying for the fuel I use in my car, generator, etc. This is the massage that the President, Finance Minister, and CBN Governor tried hard to tell us. "To kill corruption, remove the national pie." But most didn't trust them; but would rather trust the Farouk and Otedola of this world. I welcome them back to rude reality! |
^^^ Pa Eziachi, I agree with you that Lamido is an opportunistic politician. I have no doubt that he belongs to the class of politician who seek power for the sake of it; with no clear idea of how to serve his constituency. That said, some of these political parties are no different fron the PDP which they seek to replace. |
OAM4J: The information and discussion of a thread that must be stickied must serve the generality of Nigerians/Nairalanders on a constant/continuous basis or will be stickied for the duration of its relevance usually at the discretion of the moderators, super mod and admin.Well, thanks. I hope the Super Mod will look into my request, as I believe a thread that directly seeks to reach across to Igbos (nearly half of Nairaland), her friends, allies, and well-wisher for a mutually beneficial relationship, arguable serves the generality of Nigerians/Nairalanders on a constant/continuous basis. Unless you are willing to prove that this is not the case. The objective of that thread is clearly articulated in the first page, and attempt to derail it so far have be very carefully resisted. By the way, judging from the number of traffic, and pages, I believe promoting it to front page will also make a case for it to be stickied or not. I don't know if you have 'recommended' it or not, but I am nonetheless making my case to you, as I have no means of reaching out to the Super Mod? Or should I open a thread to 'appeal' to the super mods? |
So the question is - which APGA is merging with CPC/ACN? Is the one that does not have at least Ward Councillor attached to it, or those one with two state with potential for winning more? Bottomline, until Shinkafi actually delivers a ward in the North, he is just a confused rambling man. I want to hear from Obi, Rochas, or perhap Umeh! |
OAM4J: ^I don't post topics on home page. Admin and Supermod do.Fair enough, at least your have answered. So, if I may asked, what is the criteria for sticking a thread? I just want to be sure I am being refused on objective/merit, and not just because of what might or might not happen in the next couple of months/years. |
2mch: The title starts with "Eze Ndigbo....." If that is not enough for it to be in the culture section then i dont know what is. This is if i understand your explanation. Please reread your explanation and look at the link. It qualifies for culture as far as am concerned. Eze Ndigbo is not English.'Eze Ndi Igbo' is a 'title', just like, Oba, Emir, Sultan, Obi, etc. It does not in anyway affect the general understanding or concept of the tread. I don't know why some of you are hyperventilating unnecessarily over this issue/thread. The focus of that thread is politics. We are simply looking for a way to use political leverage and awareness to bring about developmental changes in Nigeria - even though the focus for now is a part of Nigeria. If it is not hate, and insecurity, I wonder what drives the motive for this incessant call for it to be moved. That reminds me, OAM4J, I am still waiting for you to respond to my request that topic be recommended for promotion to front page and also make it a sticky topic. The least I deserve is a reply. Again the thread is: https://www.nairaland.com/934808/eze-ndi-igbo-nairaland-parliamentary |
Lamido Labels Opposition Parties Sanctuary for Failures 15 Jun 2012 Font Size: a / A 1803F03.Sule-Lamido.jpg - 1803F03.Sule-Lamido.jpg Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State By Chuks Okocha in Abuja Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, Thursday stirred the hornet’s nest when he described opposition parties as a “sanctuary for failures.” Lamido, fielding questions from reporters during a visit to the national secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja, said many of the opposition parties were mere inventions brought about by the frustrations of their sponsors to achieve their political agenda. According to him, “Other parties are mere inventions; inventions by frustration. From 1998 to date, only the PDP has been consistent. Look at the All Peoples Party (APP), which has now transformed to the All Nigeria Peoples Party, going down by the day. The Alliance for Democracy (AD) does no longer exist, or do we say moribund. They are all a sanctuary for political failures.” By his assessment, none of the opposition parties has the strength of character and durability of PDP which has remained the ruling party since the rebirth of democracy in Nigeria in 1999. Of the three parties that heralded the extant democratic dispensation, only PDP has not transformed into another party, even though many of its founding members left the party to found others. Reiterating the supremacy and national character of the PDP, the governor said the party is the only hope for Nigerians, adding: “PDP is the only hope for Nigeria. Therefore, we must work very hard. We can’t afford to fail Nigerians. “Whenever there is a crisis in PDP, with political instinct and sagacity, we overcome our crisis. If ACN has one fifth of our crisis, they will evaporate. “PDP as a party will do everything possible not to fail Nigerians and will do everything to make Nigerians prosperous. Whatever cynics say about the party, we will remain united. Other parties draw their strength and inspiration from PDP.” On the security challenges in the country, the governor said what the country needed now is the understanding, unity and patience of all Nigerians, as “the crisis has translated into a fear syndrome. People are simply afraid and people are worried over how they will become free from fear.” He called for a united front in fighting insecurity because there is no difference between insecurity in the North and South. Commenting on the $3 million cash-for-clearance scandal rocking the House of Representatives, the governor said it should be seen as part of the national malaise that calls for the total overhaul of the country’s moral values. He called for a reorientation of our moral values. “The matter (corruption) is gradually getting out of hand, and the question is being asked that as a people, what do we do? It is a national phenomena, everybody must be able to say no, I won’t do it. There is a total need for a reorientation of our moral values. “People in the National Assembly, government houses and the armed forces are products of the Nigerian environment. So, when we speak of corruption, are we upright? It is a very serious problem, it is not a case of Farouk Lawan or any other person; it is a Nigerian crisis. Why don’t we do some kind of self-reflection? It is a general Nigerian crisis,” he said. PDP National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, described Lamido as the leading political filament of the current generation, stating that with what he had seen in Jigawa during his campaign to become the party national chairman, the governor is one of the hardworking governors in the party http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/lamido-labels-opposition-parties-sanctuary-for-failures/118030/ |
AregbeRascal is the most wonderful, hardworking, and certainly the most intelligent governor in Nigeria (little wonder the PDP tremble at the sight of him.) After only two years of accessing the state of his state, and getting his foot on the ground, Aregerascal embarked on a historic mega road construction project in Osun State; to the extent that the whole of Osun State is now a massive construction site, most people will not notice this, because the construction activities take place in the dead of the night, when all souls are dead asleep. But some sharp guys have managed to captured the pictures below, as elusive evidence Aregberascal's unparallelled achievement. https://www.onewsportal.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/road-gallery2.jpg Please do not mistake those pictures for Osun State, that is state of Osun (no pun intended)! ![]() |

Lol. Hunter hunted. All these two-faced people - Farcrook! Jail him? Why not? |
Dead? Not yet. This drama will get to season 3. I trust the script writers to continue the suspense. Me think Subsidy Probe is in coma! |
Lol. Very comical. |
