Onlytruth: Honestly, our future really depends more on Rochas and Obi, from what I've obversed. I thank God for Rochas in particular because he gives me a different kind of hope for political leadership in Igboland, APGA or no APGA.Ike agwu la ghi nwanne m, eze m We have to keep mounting pressure on our elected official, whether PDP or APGA to do the right thing. Frankly the period before 2015 is very crucial in both economic and political emancipation of Igboland, we must not relent! |
Onlytruth: @PointB,Lol. Pointb for Presidency, I don't have the stomach for frontline political office. I think myself a strategist, not the foreman. Thanks for the confidence though. |
@OnlyTruth, I don't really care about what become of PDP in Igboland or Nigeria, I support people that offer Igboland hope. That's why I like how Obi has and Rochas are building road in the hinterland, even though some may have reservation about the overall quality. The gesture is very much welcome. On the Chime Airport issue, I agree we don't see him shout and scream about the airport, but one can only wonder what is happening in the background. But I rate him on high on the Enugu monorail vision, even though serious work is yet to commence. As for the Onitsha port, I am yet to shout halleluyah, until I actually see commercial activities commence there. And by the way, I have not heard Governor Obi's voice recently on the issue of second Niger bridge. I thinks that and Onitsha port are his babies. Finally, I want Obi and Rochas to be more involved in buiding the APGA brand, or jettisoning the party and forming another if external forces are bent on keeping the parties in the fringes. |
jason123: Omo, you go grow 'metu'! What does APGA have to offer? ONE state, yet, you want the ones that can deliver 12+7 states at a heart beat to bow down for one state?! You high?Governors don't deliver votes, people do. Otherwise, the Ohakim will still be the Governor of Imo state by now, many of those PDP governors will still be in power in SW. My point is this: Igbo will rally round a popular APGA presidential candidate who is supported by CPC and AC.N. On the other hand, we can still continue to vote for PDP, if the odds are not in favour of APGA. We will not vote for CPC presidential candidate, AC.N chance in Igboland is also very dicey. If we want the PDP dead, SE hold the key, and APGA is the keeper! Otherwise, we can continue brandishing numbers and deliver virtual states, while PDP keep ruling! |
Onlytruth: Our emancipation will begin the very day we kick PDP to the curb.Well, Eze I agree, but not totally. The APGA governors in SE are very diligent visionary, who know what they want and are consistently pursuing it, despite some opposition. But we cannot totally cast aside the PDP governor - Sullivan Chime, who has transformed Enugu state. Yet still, one APGA governor has GEJ ears, what has he been whispering to him. Governor Obi is doing well (IMHO), but I am yet the see the benefit of his being in GEJ economic team. |
ndu_chucks: Did you thrust your tongue in your cheek when you said the bolded? If not, you must be unfamiliar with Nigeria's political landscape. Any presidential candidate who ignores the electorate in the SE cannot win the election. If you don't believe me, ask Buhari or Ribadu. It is for this reason that CPC will merge with APGA and ACN before 2015.APGA should do business with CPC, and CAN if those two agrees that the best way to kill PDP is by supporting a president from the SE Zone. Anything other than that, we are quite happy to continue on our trajectory. Igboland is not the worse of in Nigeria uses any index you like. |
Hmmmn, Shinkafi is right that APGA was designed a national party, but I can't say for sure if he is right or not regarding the North having the largest delegates in all the parties, APGA, PDP, and AC.N especially. I was thinking party delegates should hold some political positions i.e. Senators, Reps, Governors, Ministers, etc. If that is the case, then I doubt if the North has such strangle hold on APGA, considering that they have not produced any elected national official from APGA in the North. Going forward, I believe getting another two state for the SE Zone will help correct some of these numerical imbalance - delegate wise. I am surprised that some of my brothers are not seeing this and hence not lending their voice to state creation. If we must remain in Nigeria, and have a louder say, then we need to have equal states in all the zones, and equal number of reps per zone at the National Assembly. On the population side, unlike most ethnic groups in Nigeria, our (Igbos) ubiquitous nature can enable us attain the 25% in 2/3 of the states much more easily than others. It will also be useful to in convincing friends and business partners outside SE to buy into our cause - the same way it was deployed in favour of GEJ. Igbo population appears to naturally strategically dispersed. This is a strength. On the unity of purpose, I may not be able to speak for Igbo leaders, but the Igbo voting block has shown enough consistency in the past to be a serious force to reckon with. I like shinkafi utterance, we cannot afford to be complacent. I also like the fact that Governor Obi and co are mounting pressure on the APGA leadership. The party has to evolve or die, and this has to happen sooner than later! |
Genbuhari3: Interesting to know that Gen Buhari is the most talked about and consistent opposition figure in Nigeria. The GeJ apologists and corrupts people get High Blood Pressure cos of him. That is gladdening!!!What happened? Have your ran out of Buhari greatness archive news? ![]() |
Frankly Eze, the answer is that we are still waiting for dividend of having Okonjo Iweala, Pius Ayim, and the two national assembly deputies. I don't even know if they exist or not. Well, our support for those fellows and indeed GEJ is not to be taken for granted. In the end, it still about development of Igboland. I am willing to give him 6months more and one year at most! If he is only interested in consolidating power for the sake of it, the GEJ and all our kiths and kins in his government are on there own! GEJ will not use us to build a power base for the sake of it! We need something in return. The earlier he started showing his SE devolopment cards. the better for him. We cannot be taken for a ride! Oga Johnathan, time is running out! You are my man, but there is no permanent friend in this jungle, you have to look Eastward ASAP, before we become restless. [s]I hope you know say when our own start, aboki own go be like child's play.[/s] ![]() |
He wept because he knew he stood no chance against Goodluck Ebele Jonathan! I wont blame him, any child will weep confronted with the reality of losing a third time in a row! ![]() |
Demdem: Oga another point of correction. once again dont distort facts. Nigerians arent dumb.lol, if ... not for...! It had to beSo the 'protesters' didn't factor in the possible appearance of solders on their 'jolivation' ground? Silly excuse, considering, that students stare down armored tanks during the ill fate June 12 protest! Again, what did SNG achieve? I have been vindicated! The NLC guys were the real deal; the Ojota fashion parade, and #occupy nonsense is exactly what it was then, and now - charade! Nigerians were called to the streets by bunch of losers, charlatans, and political jobbers, in the name of SNG! Fortunately, many were not so deceived! |
Pukkah: Are you saying that Jonathan would have reduced the fuel price from N141 to N97 without the Occupy Nigeria/NLC strike? Would the House have launched a probe into the subsidy without Occupy Nigeria/NLC strike?Dude, the real deal was the NLC strike, which the #occupy protest latched on to! The #occupy protest was unnecessary jamboree, which was exposed for what it was, when GEJ had enough of it. What did it really achieve if I may ask? |
I believe the SE Governor forum should take up the issue of International Airport seriously with the Presidency. They need to harp it upon GEJ that voting for him at the last election has a price tag - infrastructural development is not too big a price to ask! |

^^^^ PointB: ^^^^ Bros I tire oo. Na so I dey see am too! Especially for those who are not happy that the President is from Southern minority tribe - Ijaws to be precise. If you observe very well, you will notice it is such folks who steer debates into ethnic bigotry! Watch them as they flock here to 'ethnicize' this simple thread! |
Olaolufred: Remove one from the 22 million.Sure you may have regretted voting for GEJ, just as millions who watched as their Muhammad folded his hands and seal his lips as youth corpers, and innocent civilians were massacred by his supporters, are also regretting casting their votes for Buhari. Bottom line, net gain for GEJ should he square off with Buhari again! |
lol at Tinubu's suggestions. It's not his fault, really! A man (International Thief Thief) who doesn't deserve any honour is being raised above his station with a 50 year old legacy that Unilag is, and silly folks still have audacity to ask for more. Infact, GEJ should have name Federal University of Agriculture after this MKO clown, and let the boys and girls of the Unilag with their swag! |
olyivy: Definitely! The only thing that might not happen again is allowing his almajiris like majojolo to run amok. They will be cut down ruthlessly!Ruthlessly and decisively! |
mike404: People don"t seem to understand what this whole boko haram imbroglio is all about. the bitter truth is that this whole escalation of the boko haram scourge is directly related to the results of the 2011 presidential elections. the conservative northern elite have analyzed the voting pattern and discovered the unfolding scenario of nigeria"s political reality. they northern leaders seem to have reached the conclusion that the votes president jonathan got from the northern part of nigeria to roundly beat the northern candidates came largely from christian votes resident in the north. they seem to have concluded that henceforth, southern candidates who are mostly christians, can get the statutory geographical spread to win future presidential elections with or without the support of the conservative northern political elite. they see this as a potential end to their stranglehold on nigeria"s political, and economic life wire. so they seem to have decided to take decisive action to remedy the situation.these escalations by boko haram are not primarily to make nigeria ungovernable for president jonathan. the devious plan seems to be a decimation of the christian population in such a way that by 2015 when national elections will hold again, the emerging pool of northern christian votes would have been neutralized. the boko haram attacks are directed at achieving the following aims. first, the persistent attacks against christians, and churches will have a direct impact on christian evangelism and church growth. this will result in a halt in the growth of the christian population in the north. secondly, the incessant attacks which have heightened insecurity in the north will make southern christians resident up north to take flight and relocate from the north to the south. thirdly , christiansSad to admit it. But I have come to this conclusion long ago! Operation purge the North and even the religious odd. I hope Northern Christian realizes the bondage that will soon be theirs if the fail to fire necessary shots for their own liberation. Southern Christians may migrate back home, but where will the Northern christian head? So sad! Buhari has a hand in all these, and he and his muslim brotherhood are the immediate beneficiary of the shedding of christian blood, and the ethnic, and religious genocide going on in the North! |
Demdem: i salute the role played by Mrs Dora but oga dont distort facts. Pukkah: Thank God you didn't ascribe 100% of the credit to her. You only stated that her action 'helped'. Of course I didn't mean that no one else contributed as I don't usually see issues from a tribal perspective. But you would also agree that she did not start the crusade. How did the call for GEJ to be sworn in start? Which people spearheaded it?You think Turia and her gang of cabal paid heed to those folks (SNG or what have you)who were burnishing their political credentials using gullible Nigerians? Now what difference has the 'almighty' SNG protest made since they started their #occupy nonsense after the fuel subsidy removal? Bottom line, all those protest are nothing but exercise in futility. Everything that happened then, and now were 'initiated' from the inside! Fact! ps Whether she started it or not is also debatable, cos no one knew what background moves she made. Not every official information is revealed to all mortals. |
olyivy: Some nairalanders are making it look like a crime being one of those who voted GEJ and to that I say FORK them ALL!Well said my sister. Let those dreamers and schemers keep yapping Buhari who will be roundly defeated again and again. I seriously hope he contests 2015 elections. |
@pukkah, The action that helped ensured GEJ was sworn in as Acting President was precipitated by the bravery of one Mrs. Dora Akunyili, when she dared attacked the 'cabal' from the inside. Last time I checked, she is not from the SW. Quit revising history and give credit to whom it is due! |
Pukkah: The good thing about life is that liars, con artists, artful dodgers, deceivers, propagandists, etc know themselves even when their victims are gullible or unsuspecting.Well said. Except that I don't care about Nigeria. I would like to see it disintegrate, for better emergent nations. I am tired of sharing same country with hypocrites, traitors, backstabbers, and cowards! On that note, I wish them well all those who wish GEJ well, and vice versa. |
Johndoe100: Yoruba's causing problems as always!!!(Mostly them) without doubt! With the Pull Him Down attitude they are exhibiting against the President simply because he is from the minority! Rascally lots! At these rate some of them will have HBP, worrying over nothing! |
Find Out!:No my friend you are the wrong one here. I meant every word I said. There is no planet where Buhari, will defeat GEJ in any election. Perhaps on Nairaland as we saw the last time. Your Buhari is perpetually unelectable! Even, most Nigerians will vote Ibori before considering your Buhari Boko Haram of Corpers slayers fame. Against Buhari in another face-off, GEJ will win all the SS/SE state, half of the SW states including Lagos, and a sizable amount of state in the NC. Your Buhari will still struggle to gain 5% vote in Southern State. I wonder why many of you fail to understand that Buhari is a very bad market! Get someone with a breath of Fresh Air! kokoA: I thought Musiwa was a geographer..Sure, he has a Masters Degree in Satellite Pictures! ![]() |
The hound dog (buhari) and the baboon (very obj) will be soaked in blood at the end of this romance of strange bedfellows. I dey laugh o. |
Freksy: Why not Duke/Fashola or Amechi/Fashola?Or Chime Fashola, or Rochas/Fashola, Soludo/Fashola. Or perhaps Ngige(ACN)/Fashola (ACN), that's if ACN tribal politics will not stifle it! |
PointB: I couldn't agree less with this. |
Johndoe100: When i read threads like this I always wonder if the inhabhtants of NL live on another planet. Well, we will b .itch slap you again at the next election. Sad.I couldn't agree less with this. I am wondering how sectional motivated discontent is always elevated to national status - by the usual suspects! Those of us who roundly voted for GEJ, 22 million of us at the last count, are very proud of what we did! Given the same scenario again and again, we will do same again. So can these cry babies spare us their frustration, and get on with their miserable lives. Need I remind them that GEJ is elected for 4 years. For crying out loud we are just two days past a year, and he has three more long years to go, and he might even be voted again for a second term! Crying on Nairaland daily is making some of some them very childish to the point of being ridiculous - to be very mild. I want to see some of them folks hug live transformers, before I start taking them jokers serious! Man up sad fellow, three more jolly years to ride! ![]() Fresh Air! |
We're not surprised by Okorocha's success so far By: PETER ANOSIKE Wednesday, May 30, 2012 The first Interim Secretary of Orlu Senatorial Constituent Assembly (OSCA), Owelle, Philips Anyakodo, has said that they are not in the least surprised by the good work Owelle Rochas Okorocha is doing in Imo State. Anyakodo, who is also the Managing Director of Niger Glaze Nigeria Limited, said that even before Rochas Okorocha became the governor of the state, he distinguished himself in all the fields of human endavour. Philips advertisement 'That is why those who don't know him are dumbfounded the way he took off like a rocket and they want to bring him down so he would start learning to crawl like the civil servants" The Rochas I know The Rochas Okorocha I know very well is a young man who is in politics to give what he has for the betterment of the society.Okorocha is one man that strongly believes that education is a weapon against ignorance, poverty and disease. That is why before he became a governor, he gave thousands of people scholarship. So what he is doing now, he did not start it today. If you go to Imo State today students and parents are gladly singing his praise because he has alleviated their pains with regard to high tuition charges. For the first time in the history of Imo State, a governor is convening a parents teachers association and Nigerian Union of Teachers together to tell teachers that they should stop selling things in the school as a way of making ends meet, that they should face the up bringing of the teachers squarely, since their salaries would always be paid as and when due. In the area of infrastructure, I can say that the state is being transformed with the speed of a rocket Sustaining the feat Well, many people have asked me where is Rochas getting the money to do the wonders he is doing in Imo and how would he sustain it. But my answer to them is that a business man would always make the difference. While other states are suffering is because they have former civil servants as governors. How can somebody who has not paid salaries to people in his life, have never managed fund do well as a governor? All he knows is bureaucracy which does not allow things to move. But Rochas has employed thousands of people to work in his own organizations. He has a scholarship scheme. That is why when he came in ,he discovered that giving scholarship to students in all the tiers of education would not be a problem because ,he has been doing it. He has been a very successful business man. He knows the things that can work and those that cannot work. Therefore, those who feel that he is biting more that he can chew should give him a break. http://odili.net/news/source/2012/may/30/505.html |
