honeric01: By trying to make it sound like a christian vs Muslim's thread.By bringing a balance to the thread you mean? Or you prefer to feign ignorance of the fact that this topic is which is supposed to be about "Religious Leaders" somehow discussed Pastors and Churches, and Criminality How about Immams, Mosques, and Terrorism? Taboo? |
acidtalk: If Terrorism as you claimed is associated with Islam, then i doubt if there will still be a living soul left in Nigeria as it is widely believed Muslims are 50% or slightly more of the Nigerian population, If all Muslims believe in Mass killing in order to enter paradise don't you think it will need only less than 1 million Nigeria Muslims to wipe out the 75million Christians in Nigeria? Take a deep thought on that.So you don't agree that terrorism is associated with Islam? But you want me to buy the hogwash that other criminality in Nigeria is directly proportional to the number of churches and pastors? Following your logic. Since 50% or slightly more of the Nigeria Christian populations takes to stealing, arm-robbery, defrauding, gansterism, etc, how much resources of the country do you think will be left for your Muslims brethren to buy weapons, IEDs, and all sort of stuff they use in conducting terrorist acts? still on your logic! If you still believe that churches are responsible for criminality, them you will also want to believe that Mohammed enthroned child marriage, begging, poverty, and disease associated with Northern Muslims! The man in glasshouse, need not throw stones! |
honeric01: Is this about terrorism or religious leaders being the major part of the problems in Nigeria? stop the derailing. Is Islamic fundamentalism and terrorism not due in large part to failings of (Islamic) religious leaders? And is terrorism (boko haram) not a major part of Nigeria's problem? In which way am I derailing the thread? Is holding the Imams and muslim religious leader responsible for terrorism not as important as alleging that christian religious leaders have failed in their responsibilities? Na wa for your sense of fairness! |
Beaf!:You don't get it do you? Terrorism as associated with Islam, is worse and indeed more barbaric than the 'ungodly' activities of the the so-called pastors! And frankly, even while I don't give a hoot about pastors, many Nigeria, and indeed, most rational people of the world, will prefer their 'ungodly' activities than mass murder, and barbarism as practiced by some adherents of the Islamic religion. The man in glass house, should not throw stone! Btw the real Beaf will know this! |
On and one the stories and examples are too numerous to mention. But the bottom line is, it is now evident rather than these religious leaders to preach the word of God and educate their congregation on how to act according to the laid down rules of God Almighty so as to avoid Hell Fire, they are all out there preaching prosperity and worldly gains which directly has led to the high rate to crime and illicit acts in the society and the world over.Let's assume for a moment that the bolded is indeed true. What do you have to say concerning the several connections between terrorism, suicide bombing, and mass murders and the shouting of "Allah Akbar" when these malevolence are committed? Should we conclude (and rightly so) that Islam, and it's adherents are harbingers of terror? In other words, should we conclude that "Islam is a religion of peace?" is the world's most obvious irony? |

Rhino.5dm:Firstly, it is my business to post in any thread. Secondly there is no on-going parliamentary election. ThirdIy what you think of me is immaterial. Finally I believe my point was noted. Again: PointB: That is one of Gbawe's well 'balanced' and objective posters, from his SW/AC.N who normally don't engage in ethnic supremacy. I agree we should give this ranting a wide berth. |
afam4eva: Pls, Igbos should ignore this thread. That is one of Gbawe's well 'balanced' and objective posters, from his SW/AC.N who normally don't engage in ethnic supremacy. I agree we should give this ranting a wide berth. |
sayusuf: if its true, i bet my life, u cant touch fulani and go free.. Expect sacking of villages, and massacre from them soon..fulani are very deadly..even hausa fear themDon't be too sure they are feared. It might actually mean they are despised for their crudity! |
dayokanu: Mods according to Nairaland rules and regulation, Any thread with the use of vernacular should be in the culture sectionMod, kindly disregard this complaints, as it is obvious it lacked merit! We however plead for your kind consideration to rather make the thread a sticky topic in the Politics Section, while also promoting it to the front page. https://www.nairaland.com/934808/eze-ndi-igbo-nairaland-parliamentary/6 Thanks in advance for considering my very humble request. |
alj harem: Keep decieving yourself. 13 % Heck the SW fought to resource control thus they own there resource. You are the one trying to deceive people people here; but you end up deceiving and confusing yourself, Mr chameleon! I can see your people are already up in arms fighting for resource control, except in their case the resource they are fighting for is spiritual resource - Sharia, and the blood innocent Christians, to quench the thirst of whatever they serve! |
alj harem: No that is a lieLol, Barefaced liar you! SE/SS stood shoulder to shoulder in support to achieve 13% derivative (down from 25%) they fought for during the last National Conference. The same 13% that your NW/NE brother with tacit support of Sanusi are now trying to take away from them. Abi, don't your Governors Lamido Sule, feel cheated about the 13%, when the rest of us are asking for 100% for resource owners? Abi you want me to start pulling up threads and links? So now, where from your story! I doff my hat for you! The way you lie glibly here is legendary!! |
alj harem: And Okoro don't do the same ?lol see who is calling someone parasite, ![]() SS can have their oil; we want SS to control 100% of their oil, and other natural resources. That's all we want for them. SE should have full control of their resources, same with SW, NC, NE, and NW! Shikena! |

I have a question here. Please how, and why do you date/time-stamp a hand-written note? Will that be done by the person who wrote the note, or receiver (after the letter has been long delivered. This doesn't fly one bit! |
odumchi: There are other organizations whose sole purpose is to work for the betterment of Nigeria; it's not a crime that we decided to focus only on the Igbo. What you're saying is like why is Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo an organization working for the aims of the Igbo? In fact, why not Ohanaeze Nigeria? Ohanaeze Africa? Ohanaeze Humanity?Thank you for putting it this way. This is what we have been telling her since we started this conversation. "We are focused on Igboland', while millions of other Igbos, and with other Nigerians are working on getting Nigeria moving forward. We cannot help Ogugua, if she does not understand that we will be spreading scarce (human) resources thin if we expand our scope and catchment area beyond what we can naturally afford. @Ogugua, maybe this will help you further, consider us as "Anambra Association in California', not 'Nigerian Association in California'. It's as simple as that. We do not have the mandate, the resources, manpower, and organisation to extend our scope beyond Igboland at this material time. You can start something on your own, which can cover Nigeria - length and breadth. But I bet you people from other African countries, Asia, Europe, Americans will accuse you of 'neglecting' them. They are equally suffering hard times! I wonder what you can tell them. Bottomline Ogugua, if you choose to 'help' send the email to the address on firstpage. Or you can sign-up for the mailing list. if you don't believe you can contribute to the current system, well leave us continue with our struggles the way we have be going about it. But one thing I will urge you is that you stop 'drawing' attention to yourselves and quit offering cheap ammunitions to those who will rather see us fail. You have made you point over and over again, when you could have simply stated it casually and let people evaluate it for what is it. Referring to some of the items in your last post. I would say, they are quite 'idealistic' but not 'realistic' with the resource we currently have. Perhaps, in future, we might consider it. At the moment, we are gathering momentum, and many people (Igbos and non-Igbos) alike respect and appreciate what we are doing and how we are going about it. |
Na wa o. This has Nollywood written all over it! Roadside Activist Film Presents 'Unholy Slap' Starring Invisible 'Miss Justice' invisible Pastor Oyedepo Produced by Senior Advocates! |
noiseless: I wonder what would have been on everyones lips had it been mosques and worshipers inside them are the ones getting blown up like this. One can only wonder, until it becomes a reality - sooner or later! |
Na wa oo. Damn if you condemn this, damn if you don't. Bottom line is that fulani herdsmen are recurring decimals in most of these incidents and solution is very much needed. Many have suggested that fulani herdsmen should consider polling resources (from sales of cows) to taking to ranching. This should at least reduce the spate of conflicts between farmers and cattle herders, both very important aspect of Northern economy. And boko haram, and their almaijiri support base can easily be tackled by the northern governors pursuing a policy of free and compulsory education at least to secondary school level. |
“Christian blood has again been spilt in Nigeria according to a now clear plan of ethnic and religious cleansing,” said International Cooperation Minister Andrea Riccardi, the founder of a Catholic charity active in Africa.I agree, and I wonder how many miss this point! It's all part of the 2015 politics. Rid the North of the possibility of Southern (Christian) Presidential Candidate winning 25% of the vote in the Core Northern States. Very smart political calculation, but nevertheless cold-blooded murdering of innocent people which will harm their economy, and indeed the same political calculations in a way they are yet to fathom. |
Harbb: A purported spokesman for Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for Sunday’s attacks and threatened further violence.http://www.osundefender.org/?p=32210 Why am I not surprised that the news is broken by Osun Defenders. It is either maliciously false or the they are now the spokesman for the terror group. Does this have anything to do with Tawun, and possible sympathy to the Islamisation agenda of Boko Haram, by the executive governor of that state? Frankly I can't say! I am simply looking for explanation of the fact that other major news sources did not carried this news. Something is fishy here! |
By the way, where is Musiwa,,,'s satellite pictures when you need it! This whole matter get as e be! ![]() I tire for this country! ![]() |

Gbawe: You are nothing but a hateful cretin malevolently obsessed with personalities. The OP's rant is highly distasteful and incendiary. The specific topics mentioned are the sort of talk, clearly produced to upset others, I never respond to on this forum and most folks can bear that out as the truth.I trust you not to disappoint with insult and condescending epistle for someone who brandish 'balance', 'objectivity' and civility! So much for pretense! I am still waiting for you to categorize the ethnic group of the Op, with your usual 'chip on the shoulder', 'inferior stock', and other demeaning rants! But alas, you can't do that for the obvious reason - the Op is your tribesman, and he is gloating over the 'smartness' of your tin god - Tinubu, and your clan(nish) party ACN. Under, this circumstance, how can I begrudge your initial pretense not to have noticed your tribesman ranting about 'owning this', and being the 'smartest politicians', and running things. Neither can I blame your tame, almost, forced rebuttal of their barefaced provocation, and shameless gloating over Tinubu, who under normal circumstance should be cooling of in jail for - certificate forgery, identity theft, drug related crimes, and endless list of shenanigans, or at least be relegated to obscurity. Yet criticizing such a felon is too much to be expected from an 'objective balanced individual' as you! Certainly objectivity, your thieving thin god Tinubu and your gloating folks is a mutually exclusive event. But how can I blame you? Especially since every view and opinion (even in a faceless forum as NL is) against yours is from - cretin, inferior stocks, haters, dunce, and all the other vices. And you Gbawe, and your ACN folks like olaheavy, peterKabah, Dayokanu, Demdem, Eko Ile, Ileke Idi, Negro_ntns, et al at the only objective folks in Nairaland! Isn't that wonderful? Keep deceiving yourself, my guy, the certified hypocrite! |
Boko Haram: ‘Why Northern Elements Want Azazi to Fail’ 11 Jun 2012 Font Size: a / A Boko-Haram-Suspects.jpg-Boko-Haram-Suspects.jpg Some Boko Haram suspects By Sunday Okobi Indications emerged yesterday over plots by certain elements in the country to destabilise the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, using Boko Haram, as cover. Sources said a group of individuals unhappy with the appointment of National Security Adviser (NSA) Gen. Andrew Azazi and some key Ministers, have vowed to destabilise the government through the perpetration of violent attacks on strategic national institutions. The sources cited the continuous retention of the NSA as being reprehensible to the group, vowing to sabotage his efforts at combating national insecurity. According a source, the aggrieved group is said to be angered that the all-important and strategic office of the NSA had for the first time slipped out of the hands of the north and was currently being held by “a southerner and an outsider.” The source also maintained that the group was particularly aggrieved that President Jonathan despite discreet moves to dump Azazi have failed to yield fruit. It was further alleged that the group had been pressurising the president through some powerful politicians and traditional rulers to sack Azazi and replace him with any of the former military chiefs who had held the office before. Azazi who assumed the office of the NSA on October 4, 2010 became the first non-northern to be appointed security adviser since independence. Others military chiefs who had at several period served as NSA are Aliyu Mohammed Gusau, a retired Major General who between January 2, 1990 to August 30, 1993; Abdullahi Mohammed, also a retired Major General served as NSA between July 3, 1998 to May 29, 1999; Aliyu Mohammed, a retired Lieutenant General, served as NSA between May 29, 1999 to June 1, 2006 and Sarki Mukhtar, a retired major general served as NSA between June 1, 2006 to March 8, 2010 while Gusau returned to serve between March 9, 2010 and September 20, 2010 NSA. As one source noted, “Jonathan has no problems with the north.” After all, millions of northerners voted for him. Even so, sources confirmed that there are deep fears over the safety of Jonathan if the position of the NSA slips into the hands of those currently scheming for it. He is however keenly aware that the office of the NSA controls the Presidential Air Fleet, PAF, and therefore directly oversees his safety in the air. Some of those lobbying for the position now are persons Jonathan cannot entrust his life to.” http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/boko-haram-8216-why-northern-elements-want-azazi-to-fail-8217-/117751/ |
Where is Gbawe to label the ethnic group of the Op with his usual long epistles of 'chip on the shoulder, inferior, clannish' etc jargon. Of course you won't see the hypocrite here cause the Op and his gang of supporters are not Igbo! |
tpia@:Tpia, Pardon me. I mistook you for Igbo when I made my last comment. But that does not take anything away from my impression of you. And your comment is also welcome. As for making this NL Office work, I can assure you it already working. We are getting feedback, even though some of them are best classified as 'tough love.' A journey of a thousand kilometres begins with one step. Indeed we have spent half of the year already in a one year term. If what we achieve in the first year is creating awareness and synthesising ideas, I can say we have done well. In anycase, there are issues we prefer to discuss 'in private' with the hope of bringing ideas to fruition. We have achieved much more than we set out to. And there is still ample time for more result. Marshalling Igbo cause is not easy, but I must commend the passion and character of Eze OnlyTruth. You won't believe this, until you find yourself in his shoes. With people who are always quick to point at his supposed weakness and sins at every opportunity dotting the landscape! As per the 2012 election, I can assure you (if God keeps us alive by then) that we will pull it through. The last one was concluded under a week or two. But we don't want to hold election for the sake of it. There is more work to be done, and we still need more volunteers in the task at hand. And frankly speaking, the objective of this office remains as stated - for mutual benefit of Ndi Igbo, allies, and friends. It is not and should not be misconstrued as 'separatist' gathering (not that I think anything is wrong with advocating for saperate nation for any ethnic group which so desires). And it is not a walled-city for Ndi Igbo, it is still an open forum for all and sundry - though we prefer Ndi Igbo, her allies, and those like you who wish her well. We will get there ... |
^^ My dear sister I won't mind him. I am only letting others know the kind of hypocrite he is. The type that is worse than a snake! Have you ever notice that 'objective' guy Gbawe criticise AC.N, Tinubu or any SW or AC.N governor? It's only in PDP, GEJ, Igbos matters that you will see him brandish his 'clannish, inferior, chip on the shoulder' epistles. Effihng hypocrite that Gbawe! |
Actually, Peter Obi does not own El Rufia any response. Peter Obi is only accountable to the Anambra Electorate and not the mischief maker El Rufia. El Rufia has no moral justification for the political witch-hunt he is carrying out in the name of budget analysis. By the way, has he cleared himself of all the corruption allegations against him. It time the court invites him again to the dock. El Rufia motive is clearly political! |
