Okija_juju: I hope the by-laws have a provision to appeal the election through the court of law!!
I suspect some PDP style politics going on here and I have a feeling I will be rigged out, so I want an Election Tribunal set-up for aggrrieved Candidates to seek respite. Are you planning to rig? I can assure you that the process is 'rig proof.' Even scientific rigging will not be allowed. And because the process so far is 150% transparent, there will be NO APPEAL. The only appeal you need now is appeal for nomination. |

afam4eva: I will like to see other contenders present their case and campaign like Okija Juju has done. That way we'll know who will best serve Ndi-Igbo. Okija is very relentless, but the funny thing is that he may not scale the primary. He has only 1 nomination so far, and that was even a self nomination. His fate lies in the hands of his brothers, who are not favorable disposed to his past 'sin'. Yet, time ticks . . . |

Okija_juju: I cannot believe that we are basing elections for Eze Igbo on the fact that the candidates knows all the village adages! Forget all these Local Champions whose views are limited.
We should be looking to vote people that would bring 21st century development to our villages and towns!
People that can guarantee that our kids get a good standard of life even in our rural communities. Western style living of every Igbo enclave and settlement.
Laptop for every Igbo child above the age of 6, Air-conditioned homes, teach them how to form cooporative unions and progressive unions that do more than just embezzle their money, but actually make the small farmers benefit from their hand works.
Vote Only-trith, High Chief, Andre Uweh, Ezeuche, PointB and AK-47 man for retrogression!
Vote Alusi Okija for Progress, Prosperity, Peace and Unity in Igbo Land!!
Okija 2012!! You have only one nomination so far. Campaigning for the Electoral Commissioner might be construed as an effort to compromise the process. And it might earn a point (nomination) deduction for each occurrence. You are warned! As things stand, you should be campaigning for more nominations. |

Jarus: This una thread dey interesting o. Can we non-Igbos also nominate? Sure why not. If your nomination can pass the tests below: 1. Nominations by well known ethnic champion of rival ethnic groups will be discounted. 2. Nomination by and of freshly registered posters will have to be seconded by a older poster without bias to rule 1 above. 3. Posters whose ethnicity/loyalty have been challenged severally by well known Igbo posters will have their nomination/seconding seconded or discounted. I think you will easily scale rule 1, and maybe 2. But your nomination will have to be seconded. You should give it a try, let see if you can get a seconder across the niger. |

I strongly recommend that he be disqualified from the election process as he is too irratinal, illogical, volatile and predictable thus his election is bound to bring discord amongst the Umu Nnas.
Okija JujuTM hmm. I hope you know that there are rule for disqualification. A nominee can be disqualify if those who nominated him withdraw their nomination in the light of the above information. Otherwise, his nomination I cannot annul. My hands are tied. |

Okija_juju: @ Point B
Okwa I' bia go!
Onye ye gi the right to disqualify a Nwafor from participating?!
Icho li bu te ese'm okwu na this election!
Mua di qua ready o!!
I am a Nwafor true and True. And if you disqualify people based on your personal feelings and beefs, then this election has no credibility whatsoever. Who even gave you the title of Election comissioner sef?!
Umu nna! Biko I really do feel that I am more than qualified to participate in this election. What is an election if you do no have opposition?! Our opinion differ on many issues affecting our people no doubt. But it would be very retrogressive for you to take our conflicts as a minus rather than a plus. Our diversity of opinions should be viwed as a strenght and harnessed.
I still re-affirm my willingness to serve without favoritism or bias. I will place the interest of the people above the interest of the elite.
The Igbo Nation shall be great again. I shall implement policies that will heal the wounds of the war and foster unity between all igbo states, tribes, villages and tongues.
I remain Ogbuefi Okija.
Vote right, vote Alusi OkijaTM Ok. You are right, the personal bias of the electoral commissioner, may not reflect the will of the people. Hence, your case has been reviewed, and apologies tendered. You have been given clearance to run in the primary. You have a nomination. Your nomination stand PROVIDED there are NO petitions against it. But you will still need to be part of the top 5 nominations, to feature in the poll. I wish all the best! |

Please lets keep our nominations to one per poster. For Double nominations, only the first one will count, effective on the next update. Thanks for your co-operation so far. @Okija_juju, Thanks for your powerful intent to serve. But to avoid unnecessary overheating of the polity, and to protect the integrity and unity of Nairaland Igbo population, and also to preserve the integrity of this process, I wish to inform you you that your have been pre-banned by the Electoral Commissioner - PointB for conducts unbecoming of true son of the soil. However, your ban can be revoked if you get 10 nominations meeting the requirement of the three rules. 1. Nominations by well known ethnic champion of rival ethnic groups will be discounted. 2. Nomination by and of freshly registered posters will have to be seconded by a older poster without contravention of rule 1 above. 3. Posters whose ethnicity/loyalty have been challenged severally by well known Igbo posters will have their nomination/seconding discounted. |

manny4life: @PointB,
Let me help you with the tally at least I can contribute like that.
My nominations include
Andre Uweh and Onlytruth. On a honest note, I have learned a lot from Onlytruth; following his pattern on issues including arguments , he does bring something different . He has a mentor and listening approach and I think it's one of the great qualities of a leader. Andre, having followed through his perspective, I can only deduct that he's stern yet convincing. Your nomination is noted. But I think you have nominated them before? As for the tallying. Would be glad if you could help. I have posted the latest update. So watch out for new nominations. You have to be careful not to count same person twice, and all that. It's not difficult anyway. So should we expect the latest tally by tomorrow morning? |

phreakabit: TWO very IMPORTANT questions. By what power/authority would this "very important" position of power be pronounced upon the bearer of this title . And why the heck would anyone respect it? Once again keep in mind that I am only asking questions that are most likely to come up in future. Your question has been addressed earlier: Good question. The Eze would be selected based on whatever criteria the voters deem fit.
He is not expected to be infallible, he will have no real authority and nothing will be expected of the Nairaland admins. The Eze elected can add the title to his byline or status. Being an Eze will not stop him being a poster. Though it would be much better if he does not get involved in tribal war, but in the end we are not looking for perfect man. The title is purely symbolic. |

ChinenyeN: @PointB; Understood. How is it unfortunate? You never know. I may not be as competent or right for the office as some may think. People don't generally trust their ability, until responsibility is bestowed on them. Perhaps, you shouldn't have declined the nomination. |

coogar: what's the meaning of eze ndi igbo? In lay man's term it is used to describe the leader (King) of the Igbo nation especially in the 'diaspora'. Diaspora in this regards means away from the Igbo Heartland. This is the first time we are searching for a virtual Eze Ndi Igbo. But one thing you can be sure of, whoever is made Eze Ndi Igbo on Nairaland, will invariable act and live it in real world. It is both a honour and responsibility. |
Politics › Re: Can We Have Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland? by PointB(op): 7:44pm On Dec 04, 2011 |
ChinenyeN: This topic is turning out to be one of the most interesting topics I've seen on NL, in a long time.
I move that the allegations brought against EzeUche be dropped on the basis that comments and statements are not made within a vacuum. So, in all fairness, to take into consideration this one-time allegation, without proper understanding of the context which surround it is not only improper, but disingenuous; a smear tactic. EzeUche also need not tender an apology, unless it has now become a crime for him to be a proud Aro son. It's unfortunate you refused your nomination without any reason. Not that the requirement or responsibility is too much for you. At any rate, guideline has been introduced on how EzeUche nomination can be nullified, and so far no one has withdrawn their nomination of EzeUche. Moving motion is not accepted. To nullify EzeUche, I said: However, the only way I can disqualify him, or any one for that matter is if those who nominated him withdraw their nomination in the light of the above information. Otherwise, his nomination I cannot annul. My hands are tied. So far not even NRI PRIEST has formally withdrawn his nomination. So EzeUche is still in the race. We are at the primaries now. |

odumchi: Erm I don't see how Ezeagu, Andre Uweh or Ifyalways failed those guidelines. No the did not fail. Was only reacting to the issue you raised concerning none Igbo nominating. That nominations will pass through to guideline to reduce manipulations by none Igbos. Your nominations stand and will be reflect when updated list is releases. |
