ABUJA – The northern caucus in the House of Representatives is to set up a four-man committee to study the Petroleum Industry Bill and its implication on the northern part of the country, Vanguard learnt in Abuja.

advertisement

A member of the House of Representatives from Kano State told Vanguard yesterday that the committee would be empowered to get the best brains in the petroleum industry to critically study the bill and its implication on the north and advise members of the National Assembly appropriately.

The member, who does not want to be quoted because he was not authorized to speak on the matter, said "the bill as it is currently, does not favour the north and if it is passed, our people would be impoverished, so we must do something about it.

"The north is already backward in all indices of development and if we allow the bill pass in its present form, our people would be pauperized.

"Already, the policies of this government are already heavily tilted against the north and we have to move to protect our people."

Vanguard gathered that the committee will have a representative from each of the three geopolitical zones that make up the northern zone, while the chairman will be elected by the northern caucus when it meets in Abuja later this week.

Explaining why the north needed to take a collective action on the Bill, the member said the southern part of the country was stealthily "creating the impression that there is no monolithic north and it behooves on us young leaders to work towards restoring the image of the north as a united entity, irrespective of our religious differences.

"If our leader, Sir Ahmadu Bello, could achieve it during his time, why can’t we achieve it? Whether it is North Central, North West or North East, we cannot compare with any of the zones in the south in terms of development, educational advancement and prosperity of their people”.

Oga , speak the truth for once and shame the devil. You cannot write this and expect to be viewed as anything but a bigot. Individuals not consumed with hatred for others will not write that their blood is "cheap" or "free" . No provocation should make you write as such. Your motivation is clear abeg .
Is that you style of wriggling out of your ACN/Amosun ass kissing? By digging up an isolated comment of mine from another thread? Why not put the link, or show the whole thread in the context. If you are so interested in that comment, what made you refrain from commenting on the thread and comment? Was it too cold a truth for you? Or you were too scared and fearful to get involved. Why did you pull it up now? Are you looking for remorse of rebuttal?

For you info, you will get none on this page.

We are talking about clueless ex-cultist Amosun, Ogun State ACN governors, shameless leading a band of cowardly brigand in a needless and fruitless, botched demolition exercise!

Oga , stop trying to shift the goal-post . You only appear more ridiculous. Below is what you wrote:

No one , from the above, can doubt that you indicate that "performing" PDP , in Ogun, was voted out to be replaced by "the ex-cultist (Amosun) in the name of the ACN" . The flow of conversation shows your intentions even if you want to resort to pedantism.
Of course 'No one' refers to you. As you are the all knowing and mighty Gbawe. You actually know what everyone is thinking about in the forum. Won-der-ful!

For the avoidance of doubt, I don't hold Alao Akala and Gbenga Daniel in high esteem. I was only imagining a situation whereby people like Chime and Amechi would have been kicked out in the name of getting rid of PDP and getting them replace by thugs, and cultist in the mold of Amosun. That is the crux of my point.

But if due to your preconception about my suppose inability to rationalize when ACN/Yoruba pops up on the screen, you thought I was praising the infamous Daniel or the thug called Akala, then you are mistaken. But then do I really care what an ACN kisser precipitate tribal warlord like you think of my post? Hell no!
Feel free to say anything you like. I couldn't care less. I am not the one Amosun is ruining with his clueless actions (?) and vindictiveness.

X-factoria:
And you are not biased about PDP??

You really got me irate by foolishly equating ACN to Yoruba people. Are OGD and Akala not Yoruba people?? I can understand if you restrict your fanaticism to ACN/PDP, but please never ever equate or even suggest in whatever ways that Tinubu's business empire is Yoruba's business.
Gbawe will reduce any comment on the board to an attack of Yoruba, like I care anyway. The issue is the performance of Amosun compared to some pdp governors that were spared in the last poll. And if your ask anyone, they will rather return some PDP governors for third term rather than have a clueless Amosun in the name of ACN running around and ruining things with brigands.

@ Gbawe,

By the way, Gbega Daniel first coming is way better than the performance so far of the clueless Amosun and Ajimobi put together. What exactly has those two initiated let alone accomplished? But they are great performers simply because they are ACN.

Such irrationality will be the bane of the ACN. The people are watching!

shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked  Gbenga Daniel and Alao AKala  shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked Your post is proof we have Martians posting on Nairaland. Clearly you are biased against the ACN (and perhaps Yoruba folks) but best for you to refrain from unbelievable revisionism that makes you sound like an alien. There was no "PDP performing Governor" voted out in the SW. Everyone knows this to include even die-hard PDP supporters. Your post is awarded the most ridiculous of the year. Even as the year is not over I am sure nothing will top what you have written.
You are being irrational; at what point did I mention any of those? Were you not part of the lot lampooning some zones for keeping PDP governors like Chime and Amechi. Would it be to hard for you to imagine what PH and Enugu would be facing if their governors have been replaced by the likes of the most  clueless (yes clueless) governors that bestrode SW this days in the name of ACN. Foolishess at the highest peak if you ask me.

My post by the way is not as ridiculous as your imagination and your ACN a$$ kissing.

X-factoria:
Exactly what happened!!! ACN had no formidable candidate in 2011 because the guy they were grooming had been murdered in cold blood in 2009 or so. So some of their leaders wooed Amosun just so they can win Ogun State and get rid of "Gbenga Devil" by enthroning another "Ibikunle Demon"!
Exactly what I hated about loud mouthed ACN mongers in the last poll. Imagine getting rid of the PDP performing governors simply because they were in PDP and the replace them with the ilk of the 'ex-cultist' in the name of ACN. Does that make any sense? undecided undecided

X-factoria:
I don't know why people are surprised about the character of Amosun. I blame the Nigerian media for not shinning light properly on the character of this man.

Amosun was a cultist when he was in Ojere i.e. Ogun State Polytechnic now Moshood Abiola Polytechnic. In the days preceding the 2007 governorship election in Ogun State in which Amosun contestd against OGD under the umbrella of ANPP, Amosun was shown on Gateway TV in the midst of youths raising machets and cutlasses and chanting "O n f'iku sere o, o n f'iku sere, OGD o n f'iku sere" meaning "he is toying with death, he is toying with death, OGD he is toying with death". The point I am making is that, this guy is not different from OGD in terms of malevolence and all. They are birds of like feathers only seperated by ambition.
This some serious stuff you have written here. So why did the people choose him? Was it just to get ride of the PDP at all cause?
Get rid of the demon, enroll the devil himself. Won-der-ful!  grin grin grin grin

two things government should do.

1. declare state of emergency in Borno (of course that means sending in more soldiers)
2. send 'peace keeping' force to somalia; it's time we started monitoring the mohammedist haram boys and liquidating them in somalia
