Afam4eva: I've heard a lot of my mind f and r a while now and u think its high time I threw it here for us to deliberate on. I have always been of the opinion that the east is not living to its full potential. We have the human and natural resources to change our destiny forever but I just can't understand what's holding us back. We are not moving as fast as we should. A lot of it has to do with leadership and awareness. We have some of the worst governors and administrators in Nigeria and our people, especially those outside the SE are indifferent to what is going on in the east. We need to change this. I miss the Eze Ndigbo Nairaland days. I think we need to go back to those days but this time, lets come together to mao out a blueprint for Igboland. This blueprint will cover ever facet of human endeavour. From Real estate to business to givernmeny. You name it. We need the contribution of people like spyder88 in real estate and so on. I nominate pointb to moderate the deliberation if he has the time. We need to be the change that we want. I'm tired of going all over the internet seeing Igbo discuss irrelevant issues in instead of focusing on more ccogent issues. Afam, Thanks for the nomination. The Eze Ndi Igbo days was good while it lasted, and we reached several milestones. I'm still at loss how the Council ceased to function. I have my theories, but I'll rather keep those to myself for now. As for being available or not, it depends on a lot of variables. But I will be available on pm to those whom I follow and who follow me back. |

7lives: It was a punishment for Afonja and his children for his rebellion and for bringing Alafin Aole's curse on Yoruba people, which led to a civil war in Yoruba land in which our people were sold as slaves to foreign lands, or have you not heard how "Balogun Latosha and his boys" dealt ruthlessly with the Fulanis at Oshogbo and pursued them back to Ilorin. Latosha was an ordinary balogun of Ibadan he is not even an Are onakakanfo but he was that tough, he even mark ground for them not to step foot into Otte and Ikirun which are like boarder towns to Yoruba land or else he will mobilize a coalition of Yoruba army from all over Oyo empire to pursue them further up north. It was Latosha who single handedly foiled Fulani ambition of dipping the Quran into the atlantic ocean 'cause during this period there was a constitutional crises in Oyo empire after the death of Alafin Aole as the position of Alafin had been weakened, Latosha just took it upon himself to stop the Fulani at that time, we have so many that are even stronger and tougher than Latosha or have you not heard of " ogedemgbe agbogun gboro " Ikurunmi " Onikoyi " Agoro eru iku " and many more, all these people are terrible people who would rather sacrifice their families than loose a war. So stop hoping to overrun Yoruba land because you dont even know who the Yorubas are . Abeg go find Yoruba history make you read o, so that you guys don't end up in the belly of a tiger you are hoping to ride. Warsaw did not see war until war saw Warsaw! pazienza: Political power comes from physical occupation: not historical rights, not title deeds, not moral rights - only occupation. Those people who occupy a territory determine the nature of the society in that region. - Arthur Kemp.
The way I see it, Yorubas are in a lose-lose situation, whether Biafra emerges or not.
If Nigeria persists, Igbo numbers will continue growing in Lagos until the critical threshold is breached and all hell will be let loose, If Biafra secedes, Yorubas faces 're colonization by the fulanis. Raw truth brutally stated. |

bros856: HOW would AKPABIO justify spend spending N82bn on Ibom Tropicana when there is nothing like that exsisting in Akwa Ibom state apart from sliverbird cenima and Building one Hospital for 8 years still uncompleted, Spending billions of Dollars on a football pitch and call it stadium. An uncompleteled stadium with no sporting facilities, no longtennis, no volleyball, no basketball, no handball, no swiming pool, A stadium still under Julius berger control due to indebteness etc. Can AKPABIO justify the reason why Akwa Ibom state is first on Diamond bank debt list with N5.8bn indebteness and Ibom Power Plant as quilateral, being that the power plant was built by another Governor not him. People should take their time and take atrip arround Akwa Ibom state and see things for themselves instaed of watch the state on TV because those things don't exist. Take a trip to EKET in Akwa Ibom state a town in the state after the state Capital. Remember the richest state in Nigeria is Akwa Ibom state. NYSC members who rejoice when posted or sometime lobby to be posted to Akwa Ibom state will end up tell you that they are totally dissapointed in the state of things in the state and can't wait to finish and leave the state because with their expectatrions the state is not even close to it. Do justice go and see things for yourself, you will be shocked All I'm saying is this: Let's punish Akpabio for spending a mind-boggling N78 million (Seventy Eight Million Naira) tax payer's money upgrading his personal website ( http://www.tundefashola.com). Since he's admitted this gargantuan crime, surely it's easier to deal with than the myriad you listed without proof. |

According to him, Akpabio is among the people who had profited from high-level corruption, adding that he would soon be exposed by the battle against graft. Indeed Akpabio must be punished for his crimes. How could he justify spending a mind-boggling N78 million (Seventy Eight Million Naira) for personal website upgrade with tax payer's money? If that's not the height of corruption, I wonder what is! |
