A leader of the APC, who spoke on condition of anonymity, explained that Ekweremadu as deputy senate president would hamper the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Actually, this is arrant nonsense. How did APC arrive at this conclusion? Has Buhari sent any bill to the NA that was hampered by the Deputy Senate President? In anycase, wasn't Ekweremadu duly nominated and elected to represent the interest of Nigerians in the NA? |

Bluetooth2: Abiola was a socialist, why would he want to be a CIA agent ? Perhaps, they didn't want his socialist idea in the capitalist world they were building. For all you know, Socialism was just his cover. They probably got a better asset and he became dispensable. Have you paused to wonder why Abiola who refused all manner of food and drink while incarcerated, accepted the offer of tea when presented by Susan Rice (a CIA agent). Surely, he would have believe a rescue plan was underway. Maybe he's not dead, he could be living out the rest of his life in some Witness Protection Program (with plastic surgery and new identity), while tears are shed freely for him. |

watts75: Those shouting BiAfra are the ones that barely have anything, the rich ibo folks that knows the worth of his property in Western and Northern region won't even think of something very silly as seceding. Everything is not about money. Israelites left the rich land of Egypt to find the promised land. It is foolishness to think everyone is motivated by pecuniary reason. If majority Igbos want to go, the rich ones (who are in minority) should have their say, why the majority have their way. I believe referendum is the answer. |

GTB should simply pay up and maintain it's integrity, rather than unnecessarily dragging the matter after two courts have ruled against it.
In politics every publicity is good, but in Banking some publicity can be damaging. If primordial sentiment is infused into this matter, trust me, there will be a massive bank run cutting through the industry. Several banks may not survive it.
GTB better lose some to win some!

mfm04622: Malaria kill a lot of Nigerians. We don't know because we don't care to do autopsy. We just bury and move on! Malaria is a leading killer of those aged under 5. Also kill adults too. If you want to know if Malaria is ordinary bread and butter, next time you have malaria, confirm it is malaria (to be sure it is not typhoid) then don't treat it! I'm not saying Malaria don't kill. I'm saying it kill ignorant and poor people (i.e those who don't know about it, and those too poor to treat it). In this case, I doubt if the woman it ignorant of Malaria, the poverty angle obviously don't apply. Malaria is not yet death sentence, it's not Ebola! Even Ebola can be cured. |

donhils: According to WHO, malaria kills over 580,000 people out of about 19million cases worldwide annually with about 90% of it occurring in Africa. Malaria causes the loss of an estimated $12billion in Africa yearly, so I don't know what's bread and butter about it. Malaria kills, kill mosquitoes; sleep under insecticide treated nets always. Use artemisinin based combination therapy when down wit malaria. We know all that. Malaria mostly kill poor or ignorant people. Not airline staff who can afford proper diagnosis and treatment. If Malaria is death sentence, I would have died many times over. |

oboman: What an insensitive and ignorant post!
Malaria ( a tropical disease) is less common or even unheard of is non tropical countries and often misdiagnosed as flu.
She died because of misdiagnosis just like you the bread and butterdude could die if you don't seek quick medical help. That's my point. The person who misdiagnosed her caused her death; Malaria is quite easy to diagnose, and easy to manage. |

Blackfire: let say there are 10 million igbos living in east already, and there are 8 million living outside, and u want them to come home, how do u accomodate that(awada is full already),where are the markets for the millions of businessmen/women coming in,(dont mention main market, ochanja, emordi, headbridge because they are already full). Do u know why they call the igbos 'ochimiri atata' because it ve its own base,a part of it flows out,and somehow it remains fresh, but anyday it decides to be like a lake it will stinks to the high heavens. Lastly u ve not thought about this influx problems,u and nnamdi kalu are blinded by emotions, past life trauma... How old are u? Wake up,U are under an illussion of a dilliussion. You have comprehension problem. You should re-read my post again. They don't to all come home at same time. The new country Biafra will establish embassies that will handle immigration status issues of Biafran outside the homeland. I don't need to be in Biafra to obtain Biafran Passport. |

Insidous: Malaria kills . If she had been rightly diagnosed the first time, she might have survived. Yes Malaria kill, but I've been infected with Malaria (parasite) uncountable times in my not very long lifespan, yet here I stand. Hardly is there any Nigerian who can't self diagnose malaria (not that it's right). So if she couldn't be diagnosed properly the first time, I begin to wonder the kind of hospital they have in turkey. Or didn't she tell them she visited West Africa? |

Blackfire: go where? How can u and ur likes jam packed all the igbos outside with the one inside? This is insanity SO thinking like a typical yoruba boy. Igbo world wide don't need to return home for the Biafra to happen. Biafra embassies in various countries will deal with diaspora matter. |
