There was a Nurse who was in the process to obtain green card. Cant remember his name. How is the process thus far?

My friend told me something weird, don't know how true it is. She said a particular US POE did a saliva pregnancy test for all the females who wanted to enter into the USA. Has anyone heard of such? I just think its gross and unthinkable.

NCLEX passed in Philippines... 13th January 2020

i140 Premium filling.... February 5th

i140 approval.... February 11th

USCIS forwarded my case to NVC and it was acknowledged by the National Visa center... February 19th

NVC welcome letter..... March 13th

Filling of DS 261 ....March 14th

The process continues....Ban or no ban, God is still saying something.

It will really be very unfair and will even go out of the standard requirement of a visit visa. The most important thing for visa issuance is to determine that the applicant will come back to his home country.

United States of America has once again tightened Visa restriction on Nigerians declaring that the Green Card system which makes it possible for citizens to live and work in America has been scrapped. According to information gathered from a US agency on immigration, any Nigerian earning below N612, 000 or $1,700 per month would be denied Visa as they are henceforth considered ‘economic immigrants.’

The information also revealed that Nigerians seeking to travel to the US must provide compelling proofs of what can bring them back to the country while adjustment of status and overstaying would no longer be acceptable. It warned that henceforth, failure to maintain status could lead to future ban on entry to America and that violation of visa status makes one ineligible to change to marriage, school, work, health, asylum among others.

“If you are visiting the US and find that you want to extend your stay beyond the date on your I-94, you cannot file anything again, you cannot fill Form 1-539, application to extend or change Non immigration status with USCIS”, the agency added.

It would be recalled that without prior information or notice, the US Government launched a New Immigration Policy called “Build America.”

It’s a new merit base visa application system that seeks to increase the standard of scrutiny of visa application to prevent people of questionable reputation, economic immigrants and people without travel history from getting US visa.

Under this new rule, key changes have already been implemented without notice which includes End of Drop box (automatic visa renewal without interview for existing visa holders which has been cancelled while existing visa owners will now apply and be interviewed like everyone else when their visa expires.

Others are that applicants for B1 or B2 visas without adequate travel experience will now be automatically denied.

Wow...I really love the conversations in the last two pages. This discount thing just gives me headache!!! It's true that people renew without issues in other countries. I have a conference later this year, I have been trying to wrap my head around how to apply for the US interview. It is well!!!

I asked to know how the VO figured you were refused a Canadian visa. Or it was asked on the form? Can't remember the details of the application form again.

Physicians National Interest waiver is for Physicians only.

Even though Nurses are schedule A jobs because nurses are in shortage. I would have expected to be considerations for that.

Hopefully, this ban will be lifted from the news we have read in the past couple of days [.

What the article states is that Non-immigrant visas will not be affected. So as regards to skilled professionals, that will mean H1B visa will not be affected but I don't think Nurses qualify for H1B visas.

My prayer is that Nigeria gets removed from that list, hopefully the Nigeria government keeps their promise of adhering to the security issues raised by the US.

Now that the birth tourism has been "cancelled". I know the onus now lie on whoever wants to get a tourist visa to proof so, but do you think the issue of discount might still come into play? Should anybody be making a payment plan to pay off the discount?

I intend applying to write an exam in guam, I understand one cannot enter into the US mainlands with a Visa approval to Guam.

Ensure you go with every receipt of payments made at the hospital. Also go with the document you sign as self pay patient without discount.

I have the contract I signed and my receipt. My issues is just with the unsolicited discount that were given by the hospital.

I didn't ask for any discount, and I paid the amount as stated on the contract.

However, a friend who used same hospital requested for itemised bill which shows discount, and we were not aware of this at all.

To visit a friend and his family, and it was well documented since they said it was vague for my first application.

I don't know if it's cos the time has passed already though.

My tourist visa application was denied based on purpose of visit.

Update. Wife's CIC account was updated today September 12, 2019 Approved.

Counterfoil document number now available on the portal.

Her visa expires one day before her passport expires.
