Good day everyone,
Please how do I check for appointment in Abuja, I have an appointment scheduled for Lagos already but want to know whether I will see an earlier date in Abuja.
Thank you. |

Appointments are opened for B1/B2 visas. Appointments are filling up for September as at when I checked this morning, and its also filling fast like someone said.
And B1/B2 interviews have surely started cos I know someone who has upcoming interview on Wednesday, January 6 and dates have been filled in times past for earlier months of the year.
So I will say pay your visa fee and apply. |

adeptonlin: Is it possible to book a date for appointment now in Lagos? I saw a screenshot of someone booked for March 2021 of B1/B2 appointment in Lagos. I don't know if it's genuine or not. Its genuine even though I don't think there are appointments available currently. |

What I know is they said they will extend till December 31 but not sure if the one paid 2019 is inclusive NIFES: Hello all. Please I just want to know if there is anybody in the same situation as I am. My visa fee paid May 2019 but couldn't get an available date and for some other reasons had the interview booked for 30th March 2020. Alas, Covid happened and all non immigrant visa applications/appointments were cancelled. Now my paid visa fee has exceeded 1 year meaning it has expired. Will I have to pay again to book another appointment as this was not my fault that the fee expired? @justwise @omobendel and other experts should kindly enlighten me on what to expect. Note: I have sent a couple of mails through to them just before the 1 year mark and after the fee expired but was getting the generic response that I would have to pay another fee. This is really annoying. |

ebyne: Pls you can schedule your Lagos appointment today. February date is available. About 45 slots. Am dropping it as it is hot. I dont even know whether to cry. When I saw this message, I checked and saw March 5. Then I was trying to see how I can get everything ready. Then it turned to March 12, then 19, then 26, then April 14. Now May 14!!! Its so far for what I want to do. So confuse right now! |

AltCtrlDel: No. Not the sole decision of the visa officers. It's the policy/change in policy handed down Department of States from the Oval Office Apt! |

Please I have questions about the social media presence question on the application form.
Are there limited numbers one should put up? Which of the social media applications are best to use?
I have nothing to hide on all my social media applications. On Facebook, I belong to a lot of groups that discuss exams and process of getting US license in the health profession I belong to. Will this be an issue? Or what do they look out for on these social media applications?
Thanks for your time. |

hayzed89: Hello good morning, has appointment start for US Visa application for business or Tourist category.
B1...... Is what category'l B2...... B2 is what category
Thanks Generally, a citizen of a foreign country who wishes to enter the United States must first obtain a visa, either a nonimmigrant visa for a temporary stay, or an immigrant visa for permanent residence. Visitor visas are nonimmigrant visas for persons who want to enter the United States temporarily for business (visa category B-1), for tourism (visa category B-2), or for a combination of both purposes (B-1/B-2). Here are some examples of activities permitted with a visitor visa: Business (B-1) Consult with business associates Attend a scientific, educational, professional, or business convention or conference Settle an estate Negotiate a contract Learn more about Business Travel to the United States (PDF - 362 KB) on a visitor visa. Tourism (B-2) TourismVacation (holiday) Visit with friends or relatives Medical treatment Participation in social events hosted by fraternal, social, or service organizations Participation by amateurs in musical, sports, or similar events or contests, if not being paid for participating Enrollment in a short recreational course of study, not for credit toward a degree (for example, a two-day cooking class while on vacation) |

GboyegaD: You could apply for tourism visa and plan your vacation around the exam. I'm not sure they will give a visa just to come write the exam. Thank you |

GboyegaD: The most important thing is to start early. NABP is slow and irritating. Hello @GboyegaD. I wanted to ask how plausible is it to apply for a B1/B2 visa to write such exams. I ask cos I have a licensing exam in one of the health professions to write in the US next year, but just wondering if the VO will not see it as having an "immigrant intent" even though I can't work with the license (when I get it) until I get a work visa. Have you or anyone you know applied based on this purpose before? Please let me know. Regards, |

Thanks for the info. Please when did you book the appointment? and what do you mean by regular applicants? Is it advisable to pay for visa fees now? Slamtos26: In my purview, the embassy will be opened for interviews only on the 26th and 27th of November this year. All appointments scheduling are done as at the first week of September. And I think they re only attending to regular applicants. |
