yinkbell:

Are you from Ibadan?
I remember back then, while we're still kids, we used to go and watch the crocodile.
I learnt, the man used to be a soldier; he brought the baby crocodile home from war(possibly Nigeria civil war).
I’ve never heard that version of the story.
My family was a bit close to them.
I’m talking about late 80’s.
That was the popular story.
I could remember one of his Son nearly attack a passerby with cutlass because he threw stone at the Croc just to see it moves.
I could still verify my version of this story from my dad because we never get to talk about it for over 30 years….
It’s a popular story we all knew, there seems to be no reason to verify till this morning when you have a different version.

Ooni ile Dele.
The story was that the Magician turn to Crocodile and sadly wasn’t able to turn back to human.
After several days and many rituals, the man died as a crocodile and sadly had a baby shortly before passing away.
Is the crocodile baby their family member?
That question remains unanswered.

It used to be DSS arresting everybody for anything.
Soon, Immigration will start arresting people for attempting suicide.

Politics / Re: Reps Move To Raise Fine For Nigerian Flag Violators From ₦‎100 To ₦‎100,000 by pol23: 7:53am On Mar 07
Not a bad move.
But can we get real laws that will make public office holder answerable to Nigerians?
Like every state should publish it's monthly statements, it's IGR and contractors and how much was paid to each of those contractors each month.
States should do a public listing of each project and let's see names of bidders and amount each company is bidding, if you're not giving the contract to the cheapest, there must be a good reason.
Police station should report every fighting within their coverage area to the people of that area.
They should also report how many people were arrested on a monthly basis and reason for their arrest to the public.
Police officers should also be made to face public disciplinary on for their excess.
Every state should invest at least 20 percent of it's IGR into farming ( abi na till hunger kill everyone before we declare state of emergency on food)
An just some laws like this fit make us think say una dey work.

Hello Good morning , your post was quite insightful. I'm presently applying for a tourist visa to Norway, I'd love to ask some few questions that can help me in this journey I'm embarking on if you don't mind, can I chat you privately
I sincerely don’t know how the PM works on here.
You can ask your message here and I will answer you with the best of my knowledge.
I don’t think there’s a big deal about the visa process.
Buy travel insurance.
Book hotel.
Book airline.
Have like maybe $3000 in your account.
3 month statement.
Lobatan.
There’s basically no biggie.

Pictures of some beautiful norwegian women and places please.
The women are beautiful, but I obviously can’t take a picture of a stranger.
And even if I do, I’m sure you won’t find them attracting as they’re not half naked. They’re mostly fully dressed down … you can’t see any figure or bosom… I assume they’re reserved..
They drive Tesla and other nice cars, used nice perfumes but I didn’t see above any lady’s knee or below their neck.

1.Things are extra expensive, don’t be fooled that your USD is a big deal… price of commodities will shock you…. I had to google their average salary-$5500 monthly.

2.everyone understands and can speak fluent English , but they choose to speak their Norwegian language.

3. Norwegian currency and Swedish KR are kind of the official currency, as I can see some store prices in KR and some in NOK.

4. Food selection is the worst I ever come across in my little traveling experience, it’s so worst I didn’t taste rice for whole trip, because I didn’t see a single restaurant that have rice on their Menu.. RICE

They have different type of snacks to what everyone else have… I really suffer oo.

5.They’re so extra polite and very friendly, everyone I ask for direction took their time to direct me, some will even walk you to a certain distance just to make sure you’re clear.

6. It’s very clean, the city, subway, buses.

7.They dress modest, all those pop culture no really reach here, everyone dress responsible.

8.There’re very few smokers, considering that it’s winter and I can say I didn’t see up to 15 smokers during my stay… And no one was vaping.

I kind of love the calmness of the city…
Will I go back to Norway - No.
Will I advise you to go - No.

But if you want to go,please carry plenty money for pocket and don’t stay in Hotel.. stay in Airbnb, so you can cook your own food.
Even KFC was banned here because of the kind of chicken they use, when you taste Norwegian juice, you can tell it’s juice from fruit and not the sugar we’re used to over here… They take quality of life very seriously I guess.

Those guys can waste time.
Small time FRSC will have counter in the airport.
There’s one yeye agency by the Lagos state government wey dey tag food and dem dey charge N5k… they will give you one stupid receipt like it’s needed anywhere.
I remember my flight from Kano international last year, it was swift and no stress at all…
But you see those Lagos guys, from airline counter till you enter the yeye plane.. na either problem or Beggie Beggie.
I appreciate this guy is atleast trying, unlike others who're just there for the glamour and the hush money.

That's a big lie, what is the volume of trade between Lagos and Ibadan? How many businesses or transactions happens with this two state? Oga if you don't know Kano and Lagos have more and far volume of trade than Ibadan and lagos, please we are not talking about movement of civil servants here.

And don't use your failed Lagos-Ibadan train route to pass or conclude on other routes.
We’ve made it clear reason why this can only be neigboring state.
So, give me example of any neighboring state in SE or part of Nigeria that could do the number or economic exchange?
IMO to Anambra?
Enugun to Anambra
Kogi to Niger
Just any route with proof.

Stop deceiving yourself.

Lagos-ibadan high way is the busiest not because it stopped at ibadan, its only because it connects to Benin then to Asaba and entire east.

Unlike the highway, the rail way that stopped in ibadan is not viable because it didn't connect to other economic cities like the high way...think about that
Yes people and goods going to different part of Nigeria made that express a busy one.
Have you heard of Panama Canal... It's just a bypass for ship to make their journey just like the Suez Canal.
They’re passage that made billions annually for their respective owners.
If the train fails on Lagos to Ibadan.
My brother I want you to agree with me that it will fail on any route within the country.
Have you asked yourself why even PH international airport is not as vibrant as Lagos local.
Ask yourself why it’s only lagos to abuja the economic air route.
We have plane going to Abuja from Ibadan… truth is they will soon stop .. different airline have tried that route over years … All of them later stop.
This is not me fighting ethnic war.
Just have your fact right.
Ibadan is not any better than PH.
Nor is Enugun any better Ogun.
They’re all the same poor state with dumb leaders.
But don’t think yours is any better.

How many residents do we have in Germany as a whole?? How many do u have in the UK?? so because you think SE isnt as much as SW, so it cant outspend them in things they need??
Among People of the same spending capacity, population is the difference.
Unless you can come up with evidence or fact that the SE have more money than SW, or fact that Amount of business activity within SE is more than SW.
Don't fight needlessly.
Both SW and SE are poor with the exception of Lagos.
And Lagos was and will remain a federal Character.

Think about population in this 3 states... Because it pass through a corridor of Ogun state.

Politics / OPINION On Railway Debt Servicing Exceeds Revenue By 1,200% by pol23: 11:50am On Dec 28, 2023
I read the thread on the cost of servicing railway loan.
Even though I’m part of the people that enjoy the Lagos to ibadan route, I’ve always criticize it because it’s economically unintelligent.
But Nigeria government only cares about counting cheap scores.
I’ve always maintained that buying a new train carriage with AC and new engine to ply the earlier narrow train track is better… due to financial implications.

To those people saying it would’ve been better if they connect Lagos to SE.
First - they will 8 times the budget to that, where will they get such loan?
What can be done is say connect Rivers to Cross rivers or connect Delta to Anambra… 2 Neigboring States.I know you will come here to say you people have money, but trust me it will be as sad as Kano - Kaduna.
There is no 2 Eastern Nigeria state that could generate half the penny they are making on Lagos - Ibadan..... Even the Lagos - Ibadan happens to be total waste.
The concept of government officials embarking on this kind of project should be checked.
They only care about political ego not what's best for the country.
The former Eboyin Governor built Airport and stadium... This are example of waste... What's the essence of Airport in Eboyin? What that state needs is a airstrip that could be use to land plane once in blue moon.
Fayemi built Cargo airport in Ekiti... If any state in Nigeria can successfully run Cargo airport, it will be either Lagos or maybe Anambra.
Common airport can not be successful in Ekiti, even the Airport in Akure is 98% useless.
But because we keep cheering them out of sentiment makes them continue this kind of projects.
Even Ambode built a $72m bus park in Oshodi, head should roll for that nonsense.
We need to hold this people accountable based on what's needed... I can not be hungry then you're taking me to saloon for a haircut...
E no dey add up.
We need someone that could intentionally create wealth... That's why I will always love Donald Duke and he will forever remain my number 1 politician.

But what’s the essence?
You guys rigged your way to power.
Lavish the common wealth.
Treat the rest of us like Dog.
We’re not even worthy of 2nd class citizens in our own country.
People that were killed during Endsars were praying for the country.
Students that Fayemi wife security detailed killed in front of their University because the first lady’s passing. might also be a believer.
