It pains me to my bone that nobody cares about living the life that pleases God in today's church but offering and tithe. PROVERB 21:3 - Doing what is right and fair pleases the LORD more than an offering. A notorious ritualist will give huge tithe and the pastor will receive it happily and DARE NOT preach against ritual killings. Politicians, armed robbers, prostitutes, 419ers, drug dealers, among others are now the PIUS christians because of their huge donations and tithes. You saw a hungry-striking begger and refuse to help him out of the N10,000 tithe that you intend to give a pastor who is already a multimillionaire. On the last day, I will say to you ' I was hungry and you didn't give me food, I was naked and you didn't clothe me, I was hospitalized and you didn't visit me, I was homeless and you didn't give me shelter'. In-as-much as you do this to the least of these my brothers, you did it for me. Paying tithe is not a certificate to heaven. God is not poor that you think your tithe will make him rich. If I intend to buy a car of N10m for a man of God, I will do it voluntary. He doesn't need to make it look like, I MUST give 10% of my monthly earning to the church, if not, God will be ANGRY with me. A newly ordained priest in my church needed a car. He simply said, " sorry I came late to mass these days b/c my old car is giving me a lot of headache". A Parishioner secretely bought him a new car. Can he get such money from that cheerful giver by preaching Mal. 3:10 every sunday? You don't have to come to the public to boast that you are paying tithe as if you are doing God a favour. Your father who sees what you do in secret will reward you. |
The point is that, he must not go to the university for him to be educated or literate. The secondary education combined with personal developments are more than enough.
omobajohn58: Dnt telll me u will let ur child be an illiterate...just b'cos u b'live there is no job 4 him wen he graduate abi |
The few Nigerians that went to the universities before late 90's must be the most fortunate Nigerians. In those days, you only need to graduate and appointment letters would be waiting for you. According to my uncle, I didn't know what CV or Resume looked like. I don't know who gave our youths the impression that the ONLY way to survive is to bag a degree. I know ladies that went to school simply because to want to marry a better husband. Cosequently, they go for any course and may graduate without any basic knowledge of the course they studied. All that matters is 'I'M A GRADUATE'. Another problem is that, the parents who couldn't go to higher institutions have taken it upon themselves that their children MUST go to the university. In fact, to them, it is a do or die affair. Recently, our govt has no plan for anybody, be it a graduate or a school cert holder. Our governors have told our outgone BATCH C corps members to create their own jobs. Nigeria as a country produces over 250,000 graduates annually and only< 8% of this figure get meaningful job in the first 2years after graduation. It baffles me that some traders that find it difficult to spell their names now employ our graduates as sales girls and boys. Most graduates, out of fear of no jobs go for PG programme immediately after their service year. The truth is that they are simply running away from the reality of unemployment but they must come back and face this same reality after M. Sc. Don't forget that some Phd holders applied for the position of Dangote truck driver. We ought to urge our youths to live the life of their dreams bearing in mind that a degree is not a lifetime meal ticket. It pains when a graduate ends up as a bus driver. Then I ask, " does he need a B.sc or HND to become a good driver?". If he had spent 4-years on driving, he might have become a millionaire instead of a broke-ass graduate. Secondary school education is enough to learn how to read and write and communicate effectively in english. I am afraid that with time, a farmer will buy a car and graduates will be the ones to wash it, illitrates will buy expensive clothes and graduates who own dry cleaning business will wash them, their hair gets bushy and graduates who are barbers will cut it short. I pray that God will not allow this. |
Do you know the stupid criteria for ranking universities? May be google will help you ASUU is fighting for their pocket. Yes, we may not have all the modern facilities in ABU but the few ones we have are up to standard. As a Biochemistry student I had access to analytical balance, digital balance, centrifuge of different types, spectrophotometer, colorimeter,PH meter, microscope, autoclave, laboratory incubator, monochromator, chromatographic machines, electrophoretic machines, 24hr free internet access, a multipurpose Research laboratory ( built by late Yar' adua), Biotechnology research institute, among others. In 2011, when I went for my SIWES at Nigerian Breweries Plc, I knew how to use virtually all the equipment in their ultramodern quality control laboratory and my knowledge in brewing is awesome. We have thousands of graduates in Nigeria who are better than me. Don't believe every nonsense that our Govt tells you. Of course, they must find an excuse to justify their failure to provide job for our youth
735 i: ***in Mr. Ibu's voice; chi eji go!****** Senator James: As good as your points are, you only demeritted it by boasting and overrating your institution over others in Nigeria. This will only portrait our leaders in Abuja as doing so much for the federal universities (I dont know what ASUU is fighting for then). |
I still insist on seeing the Research Methodology and how they arrived at this figure. During our orientation in 2009, Biochemistry Department, ABU, Zaria, the then NABS President ( Mr. Raji) addressed us in clear- cut English and with good oral proficiency. I Was struck dumbfounded when I learnt that he has a 3rd class grade. Admittedly, many graduates don't always sound soyinkaic in their speech but yet they are brilliant. Analytically, they possess robust technical skills, which, for me, matters most. I'm a fresh Biochemistry graduate from ABU, Zaria and I know the quality of graduates that we produce. The winner of the famous LNG and NAM award, Prof. A.J Nok is a 3rd class graduate from ABU and yet he is an international guru. In 2011, we had some PG students from Benue state University that did not understand Basic physiology. Some of them graduated with 2:1. This implies that, the school one attended matters a lot You can't compare ABU, UI and UNN graduates with other graduates from some of the mushroom universities around. I had the opportunity to be a member of a social forum where many scientist all over the world discuss key topics in science. I don't want to sound arrogant, but the so-called oyibos were baffled tremendously with the way I explain some new concepts with marvellous dexterity and in good English as well. Our major problem in Nigeria is that, we are too 'oyibophobic'. |
This is absolute rubbish. What a flopy-in-hell's name is he spewing about? Do I need to remind him that a credit pass in English language is a pre-requisite for getting admitted into the university or polytechnic. There is no way our graduates could've been admitted if they could not communicate effectively in English. Secondly, every single subject apart from Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba is taught in advanced English and the exams are also written in English. How on earth could they have passed their exams and graduated? It is glaring that our Government is looking for an excuse to say that our graduates are half-baked and unemployable. I'm very sure that 70% of our graduates speak better English than most politicians. |
Well, I do fill up my gas cylinder for N1,500 in Oyo state here and it lasts for at least 3months. I cook almost everyday. |
In the end, the tall guys will rubbish them and dump them only for them to start looking for Aki or Paw Paw to marry them. |
Alcohol is different from beer. Most beer only contain about 5-7% alcohol. There are many other igredients in beer such as hops which contains phytochemicals such as flavonoid and phenolics both of which have many health benefits. Hop is also responsible for bitterness, aroma, foaming that are associated with beer. Another igredient is dextrin ( a trisaccharide). It is non- fermentable sugar resulting from mashing and saccharification processes catalysed by amylase. Carbon IV oxide, caramel, water among others are present in beer. Beer is not just alcohol. |
Skiguy, Please I need the GMAT paulugwuchizoba@gmail.com |
My friend is still serving and will be passing out in exactly 5 months time. Do you advise him to apply? |
I suggest you reply their mail and lay down your complaints. Meanwhile, how long does it take to complete the online assessment? |
Please, I can't get any calculator around and I intend to use my cell phone. Is it possible? Secondly, how long does the online assessment last because I do use CAFE and the maximum time I can buy is 1hour. Please, your advice and answers would be appreciated. |
I hate it when illustrious sons and daughters of Igbo waste their precious time on nairaland engaging these 'ofe ose' people that call themselves Yoruba in dialogue. Do you need a native doctor to tell you that every yoruba person is born with a 'special' talent which is 'to hate and rubbish anything that is not from Yoruba or in Yoruba land. The painful thing is that one Yoruba girl was comparing Lagos with London and that 'oloriburuku' has never travelled to any other part of the country beside Lagos and Ogbomoso. Odudua gene in every yoruba makes them to talk before they think. The best thing I can do is to pity them because it is a genetic problem and we can't afford GENE REPLACEMENT THERAPY for every Yoruba ( yoruba) in Nigeria. I pity them! |

Atiku is corrupt and the master of corruption ( OBJ) chose him to put him on check. It takes a thief to know a thief. In other words, the Prof of corruption ( Obj) assessed his student's ( Atiku's) performance and finally confirmed that he is corrupt. |
I've B.Sc. Biochemistry, can I apply? |
What functional area did you guys apply for? |
God will crown our efforts with success. AMEN! |
Please,What is the content of the message? |
I did not see any mails but each time I logged in my status showed that I've applied. When I forgot my password, they sent it to me through my mail. Please, those that got auto-reply mails, when did you apply? I'm surprised because if we had made mistakes their java error stuff would have detected it in the course of the application. Thanks! |
[Those that applied with a system do not get confirmatory email] |
An international flight from senegal landed in Enugu international airport yesterday. And another one is expected to land from Ethiopia on saturday. Igbo kwenu!!! Case closed. |
@Max'diamond, Please, how did you do it because the Date of birth thing has refused to open.
Max'diamond: Max'diamond: |
I think concentrated saline solution has spermicidal effect. If taken immediately after sex, it creates a hypertonic solution that allows the sperm cells to shrink through osmosis. It worked for me and my girl friend for a year. Carbonated drink ( sprite) can also work because of its high sugar content. Experience is the best teacher. |
When someone fails exam, he will lie that his grand mother is a witch. Why are we afraid of saying a simple truth? The only way to actually prove your intelligence in school is through your CGPA. When I listened to experts talk on this, they actually argued that what matters anywhere in the world is 'result'. From the very beginning, every student knew what it takes to make first class or 2.1. Those who are result-oriented moved heaven and earth to achieve this. Why do you want them to employ lazy people who are always ready to blame anything for their failure. Companies want people who are go-getters, resilient, result- oriented and serious. First class and 2.1 graduates have proven that they got all these attributes. While I was in school, my colleagues with low grades always mocked 2.1 students. They claimed that all they know is how to cram. In our final year, different profs gave our group research topics. They appointed me as the group leader and left the research work entirely for 2.1 students. In some cases, I singlehandedly carried out the research work. The worst of it all is that they always hide behind me each time we meet the profs because they were afraid of answering tough questions. Now, how on earth can you compare these guys to 2.1 graduates who have sacrificed everything to achieve their goals. I will not even employ my son in my establishment if he makes a 3rd class. If you can't pass your exams with good grades, don't even bother to tell anybody that you are intelligent because you have nothing to prove it. Do you think that the wheel barrow pushers in the market are not naturally intelligent? How come they are not working in banks and multinationals. If you tell me that you are rich while you are suffering from kwashiokor, how do you expect me to believe you? Any scientists that discovers the cure for HIV/AIDS now stands the chance of winning a noble price. Why? Because he produced ' excellent result'. Are you good at Economics? If yes, prove it in your final year exams by scoring A or B in every course. At this stage, that is the only way to examine you. |
Thanks friends. I don't lack business Ideas. It is just that I desire to work in a progressive organization to enable me gain the skills, experience and money that I need to pursue my goals. I went to a reputable university and graduated with good grade. I'm serving now and I need advice on how to get good jobs. I believe a lot of nairalanders have passed through this and would like to share their experience. As they say 'experience is not just passing through a situation but what you did with the situation. Thanks once again. |
It is no longer news that Nigerian graduates find it difficult to get a good job after NYSC regardless of their class of degrees. Experience as they say is the best teacher. For those that have passed through this stage and are now working, what pieces of advice do you have for corp members who desire to get job as soon as they complete their service year. I can do anything that is lawful to achieve this. Thank you for your time. |
I am highly grateful friends. Thanks a lot. |
