duwdu: To the best of my knowledge, Afegbua didn't say, "IBB did indeed write the story." What I heard he said was, "IBB authorized the story." Big difference, if you asked me.
I won't be surprised, though, if the situation was that Afegbua indeed had a private conversation with IBB, along the line of the first release, and published it, only for IBB to now try to pull back on his strong words he spoke in private. I may be wrong, though.
Come to think of it, IBB's statement of denial sounds more like his "Maradona" style of putting things, so I think he authorized that as well.
Edit: It's now been revealed that IBB actually personally signed the statement of denial, whereas he didn't as much as vet or sign the statement earlier released by Afegbua.
........ P34c3 ..... ... Revealed by who to who? You think we are little kids? Stop trying so hard to sell propaganda. |

V0lv0: Ignoring a woman only has an effect if she is attracted and interested in you, or is very very very very needy.
If she’s not attracted to you, she won’t care if you ignore her or not. You’ll just be another random male in the surroundings who wants her, but is pretending like he doesn’t.
So, rather than ignoring women or playing complicated mind games, just make her feel attracted, connect with her, it's really not that hard. As if you are doing the guy a favour. There are thousands of ladies praying and fasting to have the guy in their life. Eventually, the guy the lady rejected will get a better woman. And after the so-called cute guy that she is dieing for has used and dumped her, she will start blaming the witches in her village for lack of husband. God sends husband to ladies all the time but their inability to see the future in the guy is the reason they remain single indefinitely waiting for Dangote's son. |

kimbraa: That shìt works on girls that were playing hard to get but already liked the dude in question.
You woo me, I snub you then you use the ignore button...no love gained, and no love lost for me. Your loss!. I know ladies, once a guy expresses his feelings for a lady, she must go and tell all her friends how the guy is dieing for her and would do anything to have her. She will also brag that she will never have anything to do with that kind of guy. The boy will call her and she will receive the call before her friends after ignoring his calls several times. Her friends would listen to the poor guy persuading her to accept his love. They will make mockery of him and laugh at him. The poor guy will buy her gifts and she will relunctantly accept it and show them to her friends so that the mockery will continue. MOREOVER, THE LADY IS ENJOYING THE ATTENTION CREATING THE IMPRESSION BEFORE HER FRIENDS THAT SHE IS HARD TO GET. With time, the guy gives up the chase and presses the IGNORE button. 1. No more calls 2. No more gifts 3. No room for shakara 4. Her friends begin to ask if the 'mugu' is still patronizing her. She begins to ponder her decisions and actions so far. Definitely, she will regret her actions when she sees the so-called mugu with a better woman. |

siina: well people get the original purpose of prayer wrong. Prayer is a personal conversation between you and God, go back to ur bible and check on how people pray. Technology has changed things and it is what God warns Adam and Eve about in the garden The people in the bible did not have access to technology. You cannot use them as example. If somebody uploads the picture of a new born baby online and I comment " May God bless the baby with wisdom". Does that means I have started saying my personal prayers online? The people you accuse of praying online only made simple comment asking God Almighty to help them in this recruitment. You think they don't sing praises to God and say their individual prayers at home? Don't pastors preach/pray online so that they can reach out to those who may not be privileged to see them personally? Every believer should get ready to start using technology to the glory of God through prayer, preaching and counseling instead of watching pornography. Even nairaland has a religion thread. |

Some come here to show that they are intelligent as if the thread is a medium where intelligence is tested. While some come here to tell story about there past. What we need here is good info just like tamihawt and neverdown have done so far. And if you are praying, pray in your heart and your house. Prayer is not to be advertised. A case of chronic low self esteem. 1. Why do you hate people that pray for their success on this thread, are you a devil or you don't know how to pray. 2. You condemn people that write in English (grammar), is it that you don't know how to write in good English or you are just a saddist? GREAT SPIRITS ALWAYS SUFFER OPPOSITION FROM MEDIOCRE MINDS. |

hammer2010: I don't think "unjustly attacked" is the appropriate term to employ. It's just a clear case of misunderstanding on both sides.
Some of us here are so passionate about this job that most times, we become less objective in the way we react to issues here, even though our intentions are not to attack any one or foist our opinions on them. This I think, is the category she falls into.
Come to even think of it, you know some of us here do not even belief in faith or divine intervention. We belief more in the physical realm, hence, our worries about the possible hijack of the entire process by the powers that be.
On the other hand, some of us acknowledges the potency of these powers that be, but belief ultimately in grace and favor from God with regards to our fate.
Even further are those who neither belief in grace and favor, nor the powers that be. To these set, they are relying solely on their hardwork/inputs during the screening processes - merit
So point is, whether you fall into either of the above three categories, or you believe in a combination of any of them, always try to understand that every varying opinions here could have been informed based on what that person believes n. If you must respond to them, do so with facts. The moment you respond to them based on what you belief in, rather than stating facts, chances are that that person may, depending on how emotionally intelligent he/she is, join issues with you. The attack is glaring. It seems the male folks here are all out to show her that they have a superior opinion. I respect her intelligence and inherent analytical mind. @Everybody, be rest assured that DPR will give 70% of the job on merit. |

Onyiridike: I am NOT a fan of GEJ. However, it baffles me tremendously that no party in Nigeria has come up with a better alternative. When APC come up with their usual chorus 'CHANGE!!!', I always ask them:
1. What sort of change and in what direction?
Falsehood is the greatest crime against humanity especially if such lies are meant for public consumption.
Obviously, some of our major challenges as a Nation-State are:
1. Unemployment
2. Epileptic power supply
3. Low standard education
4. Corruption
5. Insufficient motorable roads
6. Religion intolerance/nepotism/tribalism
So far, APC as the strongest opposition party is yet to come up with the modalities on how to tackle the above problems. The only thing Buhari is capable of doing (as promised) is 'fighting' corruption and again I ask, how?
I pray Buhari is NOT seeking this position so that he can have an opportunity to punish his perceived enemies?
Other important questions are:
1. If Buhari who earned huge salaries as a head of state between 1983-1985, military governor of N/E region, minister of petroleum resources, and chairman of PTDF now claims that he ONLY has one million naira in his account, is that not an indication that he is very poor in financial management? What happens to all the money he earns as a former head of state and as a rtd General? Do we need an expert in financial mismanagement as a Nigerian president in this 21st century?
2. Some GEJ critics complain of inadequate power supply. Did we have 24- hour power supply before him? If NOT, do you expect him to fix it in a space of 4 years when other presidents have failed to do so in a space of 50 years? GEJ is no Jesus Christ if you ask me.
3. What was the poverty rate in Nigeria during Buhari's regime? Could you compare it with what we have today?
4. If Buhari couldn't profer a lasting solution to Nigeria problems as president in 1985 when he is young, do you think he can do so now that he is 72 years and half of his brain cells are dead? Even Profs retire at the age of 70 years because they can no longer strain their brains to think and come up with new ideas.
5. If Buhari doesn't have a hidden agenda other than his love for Nigeria, why didn't he give other credible candidates in APC the opportunity to become president? Is Buhari the ONLY saint in APC? Must he be president again at all cost?
6. Is it NOT glaring that APC is just a means for the Northern muslims to re-claim power back since it is no longer possible in PDP?
7. Do you think Buhari would have remained in APC if Rochas or Atiku had emerged victorious in just concluded APC presidential primary election? If No, why?
Finally, Goodluck may not be the type of president we clamoured for but Buhari is NOT an alternative. I thought APC would have provided us a vibrant and better candidate who can brace up with the existing realities of this modern and complex world.
If they had done that, Nigerians will NOT need paint-him-black strategy of APC to vote GEJ (Not PDP) out in 2015. I am very sure that those guys will never answer your questions. Everything they say is fueled by nepotism, religion bigotry and hatred for a particular tribe. |

Romance › Why Nigerian Girls Are So Disrespectful. by Polchiz(op): 8:45pm On Dec 14, 2014*. Modified: 9:41pm On Dec 14, 2014 |
The way Nigerian girls look down on men regardless of their age baffles me tremendously.
I have taken my time to find out why it is so and obviously, men are the cause of their problems.
Below are my findings:
1. Many men are obsessed with sex- It sends painful sensation down my spine when I see a full-grown man with his education and exposure spending his hard-earned money on 16-year old girl just for sex. Consequently, the girl has gotten a bad impression about men. You tell her 'Chioma how are you?' and she goes ahead to tell her friends that you want to sleep with her.
2. Girlfriend/Relationship Status- During my University days, what makes a man popular was NOT his CGPA but the number of girlfriends he has. I know a guy who gives his girlfriend N10,000 every month and then begs food from hostel to hostel. MUST you have girlfriends or be in a relationship when it is glaring that you don't intend to marry even in the next 5 years? I thought relationship prepares one for marriage but it has become a source of sexual gratification. No wonder most girls have been in a relationship for years and yet are unmarried.
Why would a girl respect any man when there are thousands of them who are interested in her (sorry want to sleep with her).
3. Lack of self worth- One day I came across an M. Sc degree holder begging and running around an SS 2 student like a headless chicken. For Christ's sake, where is our self worth?
During my NYSC, some corpers do run after village girls who are still in JSS 3 and SS1. As a result of this, those girls disrespected every male corper in that village.
How did our men get to this pathetic situation? |

I am writing this for the sake of our young girls who visit nairaland and may risk been brainwashed by 3cycle's comments. I am in a happy and fulfilling relationship, tall by all standard and good-looking too. Personally, I hate to see our girls been used and dumped because they believe that the best thing that can happen in their life is dating a tall man.
I have been following 3cycle closely and I have found out that the ONLY thing she sees in a man is his height.
With her level of obsession about a man's height, I wouldn't doubt her capability of dating a mad man on the street as long as he is tall.
Imagine that I realized that the ONLY reason my girlfriend is dating me is because I am tall. I will brake up with her instantly. |
