Gentlelife50: No Loud am I no just understand Stephenponti and ReadAdream. Soup wey person just deh lick on code. Inbetween drivers should be mindful of the cut to service lane descending the bridge at Fadeyi facing Maryland to enter Yaba. Did normal thing on Wednesday. That's was how two old men stopped me, with why did I cross over the pavement to the service lane. Probably total I will be scared and didn't even notice the car door was unlocked. He brought out MOT ID and jumped into the back sit, ask me to driver into the Oando. That action got both me and my Oga mad. Like are you silly? What's the meaning of jumping into the car? Oya! Get down from the car first before you receive any attention. He was caught unaware and stutter... next we replied him, Oga! Don't say anything, just get out of this car, if I drive you away it won't be funny. Then he didn't know where to place things. Got down and voice changed to its we we, just do something. Las Las 500 was let go and I zoom off. Drivers don't be too official is this hustle, knowing you are Uber driver is like a default setting for them to take advantage. And 2 understand the scene you've found yourself before taking action. 2 men stand on the route I usually take. No enforcement, no car at standby, no weapon, no proper means of identification outside their dirty laminated ID there's nothing in the world I won't use to fight them, even if it means beating them. That is how far I dislike when people try to take advantage of people. On the flip side, if it happens to be a Lastma or Traffic Police and I truly understand my offence, they are other ways to solve issues amicably. We moove |

Pearl1910: Ahhh...m*d**cr*ty na bad thing o. But one thing I know is d day I meet you, ur life will change. Since ur target is 10k daily. If u save 2k everyday where u can't reach it, u will have minimum 600k at the end of the year. This will be minus ur cash in hand and in the bank. If u want to and u desire to, there is no way u will not buy 1 car every 2years. Except na woman dey chop ur money or u r not just gingered to make d money or disciplined in the savings. Reason why I said join Ajo...u no go want shame and disgrace, so it will push u out to go and hussle everyday. This isn't rocket science, it's common sense. If u carry a business mentality or even an employee mentality do this work it will be good for u. I am not telling u theory but tested practical and hands-on methods to succeed. I know say e no easy, especially if u don't like driving and maybe ur car isn't very comfortable. But try this for one year and see. When u buy another car and give somebody then u can rest and flex as u like. If 100k a month is okay for u.
You are calling for new drivers to evaluate themselves and tell whether what I am saying is practical...but u are blind to see Readadream and the other guy, that just bought their own cars in less than a year of doing rentals. My neighbors gate man is a car owner today, thanks to God and his hard work. I introduced him and encouraged him and today he owns a Toyota Matrix. He has rented an apartment in agege, he has brought his family down from Jos. His life has changed. Whatever he decides to do henceforth, it's his business, but that pedestal, that platform to get money easily to do whatever he wants has been established. And he started after covid on rental. Less than 2years.
When u started this work, there were toks cars for less than 1.5m. so don't be wondering how people are doing it, blame urself for not taking the opportunity. But It's not too late for u too, there are still good naija used cars for less than 1.5m ask ur friends Felicity and Tojah if I am lying about this too. Pearl I'll say it again, you and I no be mate for this racket. I am not an empty drum, so needless making unnecessary noise. Needles throwing unverified punches with you and your wanna be boy. I am open to what is real and will always watch out for folks not making mistakes that can break them. Do you really think people come out here to share their problems? You can't be selling the high side of business and not adding the low side to it. You will eventually mislead people. When I say folks on rentals between the space of 2 to 6 months to do self evaluation if they have 300k in their accounts yet. I never said folks with car or those on rental can't become owners eventually, don't type twist my point. I add majority because I could already think thro what your d as* wit only one way thinking would say. You said if I save 2k per day, I'll be saving 600k in a year. Damn! That's for me to get toks of 3m now,it may take me 5 years to get that. What gave you the mind set that it won't have gotten to 4.5m in 5 years. Nigeria go better abi? On a target of 10k you willingly imposed on me you to make yourself sound sane. I'll still eat, feed family, pay rent, bills and still have money in the bank. Weldone! Sanusi of Bolt, regulating drivers account balance. Your neighbours gate man? Una no get gateman for Una compound? Since you live in Adebowale, you should know Ekene selling cloth at Ekene's place abi? When that dude started out, it was very small. I am putting it to you Pearls you can't tie Ekene's shoe lace today. When we talk about real money? Abeg rest. Back to una Musa, why don't you kindly state how long it took Musa to be on rental, how long has he own the phantom car, how much did he buy the Matrix and how much is he paying for rent within. Remember all these is within the space of a year and months. Pearls remove hand for lies nah, how do you find it effortlessly to tell lies like this? Even if Musa is saving 4k everyday, how much is he even paying on the rental? 4k for 365 days with a day off will give him 1.3 plus in a year A man with wife and kids. Shey, Musa no they provide for em family atall? He still does his gateman job and keep tab on ehailling while his employee opens the gateam whenever they are back, because Musa is always on the road. Pearl! That was how you said people looking for fund account are paying 300k monthly and one will spend like 8 million. I just look you laff, you think going to USA is just by money abi? OK! Your matter don tire me, I rest my case. Edit later, I no b nairaland driver, get sh*t to put together |

This is why I wanted to be business man. You see. People in Yankee working for the same company for over 30yrs........ And if u notice when I found that u run ur own uber fleets . we became friends and we chatted up till this day on WhatsApp.... I tend to gravitated towards people that run their own business. All these 9 to 5 is pure slavery for me. No matter how much money you getting paid....
I always try to encourage people to be their own boss. Start up a business and built a legacy for ur kids ........
All these 9 to 5 in Yankee is pure slavery .. You are helping people built their dreams....... I have friends that own their own business and I envy them .... They tell me that they will never work a 9 to 5 ..... Relatively illusions... guess you are yet to see someone that works for a company and got apartment right in Banana Island? I won't put down this hustle, but obviously won't make it sound like the best thing after jollof. Do what makes you happy and stop making it look like the whole world is missing because they are not keying into your believe. Gentlelife50: Lori roor Feels good to know Alinco Dangote with multiple cars is here. Let me goan find my kolo and be saving 1k inside everyday. Maybe me too can become Femo in 2 years. This hustle mad ghan... I was playing a tot in my head. You buy a car let's say Corolla for 2.4 back then and take like 100k to perfect everything including plate number. If you give it out for 25k weekly, it will take 2yrs to get your money back. Then Corolla would have shift to 3.2 million... meaning one would have to struggle to even think of getting toks as inflation has scatter everything. I remember when Dru and I were having this convo and just lately he admit not importin any civic for now. My experience so far, transport business goes beyond writing, it is very deep and crazy in between. Lot of drivers that bought car to start oit like 3 years ago, may not have up to 3 million in their accounts today and when you check the car, you will see they have driven the juice out of the car. Even if they sell and add their savings, it won't get them toks corolla. The drivers that start out on rentals 2 to 6 months. Should sit and truly do self evaluation if they have been able to save 300k for themselves thus far. Like play a year will pass and nothing has changed around majority. If you think say I they lie, ask Felicity how many cars e drive, if no b say my oga sell plantain plantation.... hmm! Pope b calming down. Ohk! Make I climb bed All I'll say and careless is be careful of folks that only tell sweet tales. |

Pearl1910: What helped me continue even after buying multiple cars is Ajo. I did daily, weekly and monthly contribution, so if I want to give myself excuse for not going out, when I remember I have to pay daily, weekly and monthly Ajo, that tot will drive me out. A lady posted how automatic deduction savings helped her save more than 1million in a year, that's also an option but nobody will drag u if u don't fund d account. It's hard to maintain that drive when u don't have anybody to answer to, that's why I always encourage partners, especially car owners to do contribution, thereby u will be forced to go out when pay day is drawing near. At the end of the day when u collect your money, u can use it for something tangible. Why continue to drive someone's car and be giving d person 25-30k weekly when u can drive ur car and have that amount as additional savings? That way u scale faster.

Viking07: This underscores the importance of belonging to at least a small group, in times like this your colleagues can/should be able to help. I remember when my wife put to bed, I got almost 100k from total strangers I’ve never met before all because we belong to the same telegram group, I got another contribution again from the WhatsApp group.
I’d like to appeal to any driver who doesn’t belong to any group, even the Bible says don’t ignore the gathering of your brethren (Hebrews 10:25). Join a telegram/WhatsApp group, if there’s non, create one and invite others. Your battery fit die for road, lastma fit hold you one day, when you post in the group men will turn up.
Well, Nairaland is a group and I believe it will work here too. @Pearl1910, I don’t think there’s need of creating a WhatsApp group or a new thread? Unless someone is willing to go visit him physically? If not I’d suggest he posts his account number, let’s set the ball rolling.
Tgiirl na me just send you messages on WhatsApp. Guess your eyes just got cleared from what you took. When you come online and start quoting names in the name of trust. Gosh! The rest must've had questionable characters I guess. Sometimes you guys talk without proper processing of thoughts, unapologetic on that. Who told you Pearl1910 is a driver to say the least. Even some of the drivers here don't know the handler, but for what it worth, you guys should learn how to throw words, unless it is for banter. The last I knew about giving, it is best served from anonymous, let him provide his account number and let anyone who is willing to give do the needful with less noise or ado. All these I'll pay double, cruise or vanity on someone's predicament provoke tots. |

Tgiirl: Good day fellow comrades,
Is been awhile, almost 10 months since my accident still unable to walk fully.
Guys I need your help and advice on this.
Let recap what happened. I am driver, working with my partner for over a year before the incident. I planned my wedding for last year Sept 2021 in which I travelled to around ore for my wedding introduction and engagement. The whole ceremony was successful on Saturday and we decided to return to lagos on Sunday morning .
On our way back, getting close to ijebu ode some vehicles were facing One-WAY ON OUR SIDE OF ROAD. All of a sudden while approaching a trailer, a transport sienna car, drove out from behind the trailer on full speed.
The best option that came to my mind was to leave the road, but before I could steer out of danger. We blacked out.
On opening my eyes. The car was smoking and the sienna was right in front of us in the Bush. My legs were already squeezed and broken under the pads, I couldn't turn to see my wife and my God-mother sitted behind.
To cut the long story short. My God-mother die instantly, my wife head was split at the forehead. My both legs had multiple fractures.
God save my life and that of my wife. After the policemen, at the checkpoint not far away from us rescue us.
We went through multiple surgeries at othepedic and babcork hospital and they were all successful.
Now, Here is were I need help and advice.
The policemen contracted my that the poeple of the sienna driver want to take their car. But were not allowed. The station scheduled a meeting where my father and my uber partner's elder brother represented me . However, it was concluded over there that they need to compensate us.
When I got the report, I was not happy because I felt they are meant to visit us and the family of the deceases. But they only showed up for their vehicle.
2 to 3 months since the meeting at the policestaion, we have not heard from them. My wife and I has been decharged from the hospital. But my legs are not fully heal to stand on. My wife has also lot her job after her company wait long enough. I has really been very tough to survive. But We Thank God for life.
What steps should I take please? Will it be best to file a court case? Your opinions will help allot. Sorry about this boss... my heartbeat for real, may the mighty one nest you in time like this. |

Glithronix: It's over a month already. Picked the rider (a man) from Iyana Isolo in the morning, going to Iyana-Iba, due to his appointment, destination was changed to Iyana Ishashi. On our way going, there was a mad traffic jam that held us on the way after passing Alaba market a bit. So, he was in a hurry to meet up with his appointment, and he bad 2 traveling bags. When traffic was not moving, I suggested he should take 2 bikes then, one for his loads and the other for himself, so that he could meet up his appointment. He appreciated that suggestion, so we stopped 2 bikes. I gave him my account details to transfer as he asked. When I made my way back to go to a sane area like Maryland and environ, na war. That area na mad drivers full there + trucks. Because of this, no amount of surge to take me to that axis, even if it's 3x high demand. In a nutshell, he didn't transfer sha. I called this man say him never transfer, he said he would do it now. Still the same, he didn't transfer. I called him tire, na d same thing throughout that day, the following day, the alaye blocked my numbers. Amount was 4.1k. I wanted to overlook and hand him over to karma but when I thought about my experience driving out of that Ojo road, I contacted Bolt via mail immediately and explained. Bolt demanded for the person's contact, I sent it to them. Later got a mail from bolt say the person has been contacted and would make my payment soon. Throughout that day, I no see anything. I mailed bolt back say I no see anything. Bolt responded that they would contact the person again and get back to me. By the time bolt got back to me, they came with "the individual is no longer reachable", alaye don block Bolt too be that. Them now say dem go compensate me for it. Na so I saw amount of 4k as bonus target on my profile with just 5 trips and 4 hours or so sha. I quickly did that in the morning and won the money. Na so e take go. Much respect, bossman. I sha hope when you leave message for the guy, you did not tell him " much respect boss"? Else I'll be so mad at both of you, might even go to the guy house to take it back |
