What is wrong in a christian converting to Islam or muslims converting to christians?? I have no doubt over 50% of nigerians who visit Dubai yearly are Igbos. If we think their religion is demonic and musnt be touched with a long pole, why do we throng their country given the slightest opportunity

The same people throwing up these vile comments were the same folks that celebrated the conversion of that Somali woman to Christianity and her subsequent meeting with the Pope!

yomip3t: I don't think so. The Prophet (saw) states that Zakat-ul-fitr should be shared to the poor and less privileged among you to bring joy and love among Jummah.

The main reason is just to bring smile and to give the person an opportunity to perform it also in the subsequent yrs. Just to lift the poor hand.

For example someone who fasted for 30days and on the Eid Ul Filtr day when others are going to the praying ground he/ she doesn't have food to eat and nothing to make him /her happy... he will never be happy about everything. That's where zakat works. If that is given to him /her, smile will come in.

And the Prophet (saw) said well should all go to the praying ground in mass. Even those that arr not eligible for salat should go and sit at the end of the venue.
Everyone must be happy.

According to our Imam, zakat -ul-fitri is not limited to the muslims only since the aim is to share with the needy. Apart from this, it's a way of identifying with non -muslims with the ultimate aim of promoting peace and unity.

I'm requesting that someone with indepth knowledge on this enlighten us further.

The future of this country is hugely bleak going by the hypocritical and insane comments spewing from the putrid mouths of some brainwashed folks riddled with sentiments. sisiafrika: Guess I was bored. Actually read the whole pages of the thread. Never knew Osogbo was that cheap. What of Ilesha? And Ondo town? Well, OAU campus is the chapest 'city' in Nigeria. OAU is a city on its own.

Ilesa is almost at per with osogbo in terms of light , food and transportation. However, accommodation is on the cheaper side. I live in a 4 bedroom en-suite at N120.000 p. a.

The house and 6 other flats widely dispersed from one another sit on an acre of land with lush green vegetation, all manners of fruits both local and foreign species, constant running water, well-paved and well-lit motorway and surroundings.

What I'm saying in essence is that this type of dwelling would have attracted additional costs in Ile Ife, osogbo, and other places adjudged cheaper to live in.

Safe for OAU , OAUTHC and ancience from which the glitz and glamour of ile ife derive from, Ilesa is second to Osogbo in terms of development in the state.

I'm from Ogun state and I graduated from Oau, Ile Ife.

I seriously believe the percentage is over-hyped. if anything, the stated percentage probably belongs to corp members of northern extraction.

the transition to eternal bliss of my dear brother in June 2006. learnt of his illness while doing my youth service in bauchi and rushed down home in may and returned shortly thereafter belIevIng strongly that he would soon get well. it never occurred to me that was the last time I would see my dearest brother. I was always calling home for news about his recovery and was always assured all was well until I got home in august and learnt he died two months earlier! it was an experience I would not even wish my enemy because hardly would a day pass without feeling melancholic and dream about him. my dear brother was an embodiment of love, humility and generosity who lived in fear of God. words cannot describe how terrifying your absence is to me and the family. may Allah swt grant you, our dad and others forgiveness of sin and eternal bliss (amin).

I'm sorry to say this but it is true. last week, I recharged my account with N4200 for internet browsing purposes and I had N200 balance initially- Rather than having a total balance of N4400 from which N4000 monthly subscription would be deducted for 1.5g, my account had a shocking N3600 credIts! I therefore had to buy unprecedented additional N400 to make up the difference.
