Proverbs 14:34
Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

So righteousness is not just essential for a man's salvation, but also a nation's exaltation.

I believe that hence God revealed via King Solomon, the standard He uses to judge a nation and any people on Earth, not just His own people, Israel.

For that's how sin brought reproach to the people of the days of Noah when God destroyed the Earth with a flood, but righteousness exalted the people of Noah whom God saved from the flood. Genesis 6:5-7, 7:1.

Sin would have brought reproach to the people of Nineveh, but righteousness exalted their nation after they repented and turned from their wicked ways. John 3:10

Sin brought reproach to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, but righteousness would have exalted them if there were just ten righteous men in the land. Genesis 18:20-32

So the wicked are not just an abomination in the sight of God but also a curse to any nation.

While the righteous are not just a delight to God but also a blessing to any people.

Righteousness is not something that someone can achieve in one day..I think it's a gradual process so we should try to live more righteous than the previous day and not claim all righteous in one day..
