Ofoni is different from Orogun, in Orogun, the Urhobos were able to maintain their language and identity despite centuries of ties with their Ukwuani cousins. But in Ofoni, they somehow managed to speak 100% Urhobo, how can a community that speaks 100% Urhobo be Ijaw? Isn't this fraudulent? Are you aware Edwin Clark's village is also bilingual? Why then are they regarded as Ijaw and the Urhobos in Ofoni that speak 100% Urhobo aren't Urhobos? @Bolded, even the ijaws don't regard Ofoni as one of them except when they want to play politics, or why did you think they voted massively for the opposition party? They never wanted an Urhobo deputy governor. [/quote] @efewestern this is a reply to the above quote Bros, be calming down ooooooo Ofoni people are closely related to Tarakiri, an Ijaw ancestor No Ijaw have claimed Ofoni in sagbama Ofoni people are Urhobo people no doubt about that Kiagbodo is an Ijaw community in Burutu that the people have intermarried with the Urhobos and have been accultured finally, your claim that pdp lose was as a result of having an urhobo deputy is false. It is the same Ijaw people that voted an Urhobo man, lawrence Ewrudjakpo as a senator in Bayelsa state in the 2019 general polls. Bayelsans wanted David Lyon and there is nothing attached to it. |

Igboid: So because Efe is Edoid that automatically means the Oral history from Ukwuani and Orogun which states that the father of Orogun is related to Amai, Umukwata and Abbi should be disregarded? Why do you insist that an Igboid group must not in anyway be related to Urhobo or Edo despite glaring facts and historical evidence? If I want to know more about the Orogun Or Amai people, I will seek knowledge from people from that territory, not some from a faraway land that seeks to distort history just for some political gains. |

Efewestern: Common sense is obviously not common anymore. Efe or whoever that is founder of Orogun doesn't have any relationship beyond inter marriage with Umukwata. You don't need any distorted oral history to know this, common sense should tell you that. In the past when you marry from a place and want to establish a new settlement, it is not uncommon to invite your in-laws to come and live with your new family to provide security in numbers. This was how it used to be in the time past. This was how the relationship between Orogun and Ukwuani came about. They(Ukwuani) were and have always been distinct people from Urhobos with distinct language, names and world view. I know what you Edoids are up to with your subtle historical distortions. Efi means cow and has nothing to do with Efe like I told you. There are even alternate history that suggests that Orogun founder was indeed an Igboid speaking Ukwuani man and not an Urhobo man. The only way Amai, Umukwata and Orogun would have blood relationship is if the above version of the history is right. Which would eventually make Orogun a traditionally Igboid town that got overrun by Edoids. It would also explain why traditional ruler of Orogun goes by the Igboid title of Okpara uku and not Ovie, and why the community that produces the Okpara uku in Orogun have the ancient Igbo trademark of "Umu" prefix for naming placest, in Orogun case, the village that produces the Okpara uku of the town is called Umusu. It wouldn't be the first in the region. Afterall we know that the founders of Igbide, an Isoko speaking town today, were also originally Igbo speaking people. We even see this in the encroachment of Isoko speakers into Igbo speaking communities in Ndokwa East which has led to land disputes in those places recently. You as an Edoid man who if dropped in Ukwuani land cannot communicate with the locals without Pidgin English, cannot accuse a proud Igbo man like myself whose ancestors imprints in UKWUANI land( which means I can safely land in Ukwuani land and hold a reasonable conversation with the people by just using central Igbo language), of interference in Ukwuani matters. You as an Urhobo cannot claim to have more rights to intervene on Ukwuani discussions than me. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Who could be more criminal and corrupt than James Ibori, the father of Delta state whom you worship like a god. And in case you dont know Delta state/Ukwuani is the head quarters of marijuana production....biko, mechie onu. Delta state has elevated corruption as state practice. Ishilove: Ukwani can be Uhrobo, Igbo's careless from the thread Uhrobo's have already made it clear that they founded Ukwani towns and villages, Igbo's careless and would only be bothered if identity crisis torn people of Ukwani clan extend their delusion to Our Igbo Anioma brothers. We love Asaba and other Igbo Anioma land without any identity crisis, Ukwani should develop their villages, you already know Igbo's don't even bother investing in Ukwani land like we do in Anioma land with any identity crisis. Ukwani can enjoy their Uhrobo Identity. Igbo's love their proudly Igbo Anioma brothers. |

Ishilove: You come off like a person with inferiority complex and you always need approval to feel relevant. It is inborn to you, it comes naturally with your identity crisis, Ukwani will always play second to Anioma Igbo's and Uhrobo's in Delta state, Because to both groups Ukwani remains a lost sheep that needs approval and direction that is why you have no major players in Delta state let alone Nigeria, politically, Economically, Education, finance, sports etc. Unlike your Anioma Igbo or Uhrobo counterpart. |

The idiot that opened this thread started attacking Igbos albeit subtly to attract attention. I swear, some of these morons that litters this forum deserves a shot on the head to rid the earth of their bigotry and stupidity. Why not just fucking focus on the topic of your useless thread and leave Igbos alone? It seems to make a thread sell, on this forum, you must include Igbos, by any means. 2 Likes |

Efewestern: I think "youthful wealth" should be Efe-emo emo being children or the young. This is different from Emoefe or Omoefe which both means children/child (are) is wealth. The correct meaning of that name should be "Wealth is still multiplying" Evwie there being "born". |

sageb: Well some Ekuigbo people will tell you they are not from Ughelli, same thing some Afisiere persons would say. I think their major problem is the stool of the Oharisi being Ovie of ughelli. I don't know much about their doings though but I know Afisiere people once chased the Ovie of ughelli out of their domain. The Ovie was moving mad then and stealing lands and you know say our people no care who you be once you don fück up |
