Thanks. He finally sent a proof that the visa was actually lodged. 489 was in use the time the visa was lodged in August 2019. I think it was in November they replaced it with 491. However, they said they’ll attend to all pending 489 cases before scrapping it off entirely.

That's a relief! All pending 489 will be processed.

What could be wrong if organization sponsoring ones visa for Australia visa can't produce ones HAP ID? The HAP ID is very necessary for Australia visa medicals. How can someone know Australia visa process by a sponsored company is genuine? Pls someone should help

The company should email DHA to check what's wrong.
Check the company's profile online and call them. Also, it's very tricky that one would get a job outside of the country at this time.
Although if your occupation is in the Primary occupation list then that could work.

Hello, all.
My family composition is myself, wife and daughter.
In filling out my EOI, this section requires the number of family that will be coming along principal applicant.
My confusion is, do i add my partner in counting (making it two) or just an extra family member (in this case, my daughter).
I'll really appreciate a feedback from the gurus here.
Thanks.
1. yes
2. 2 family members (your wife and daughter)

Congratulation! If you already have your English result, you should lodge your Expression of Interest (EOI) asap.

Thanks, boss.
Lodged the EOI on 13th of the month.
Points for various visa subclass:

190: 75points
491: 85points.

Eagerly waiting for nomination to commence for offshore applicants, not willing to wait for 189.

Just got a response from VETASSESS

POSITIVE!!

Educational level equivalent to AQF Bachelor Degree.

Number of employment years assessed positively 5.82.

Occupation: Valuer.

This feels so good.
Unto the next hurdle.
God be praised.
How much did you pay for this please? I’m trying to cost how much this Australia movement would take.

It's 927Australian Dollars.

I found the mode of payment personally difficult, didn't have anyone in Australia to make the payment so I resorted to paying via my friend's credit card in UK. That way I spent more as I had to pay in Pounds, in Naira I spent 350,000.

There are some other recommendations here that you can use to make payment cheaper directly, wish I had explored those myself.

After paying for assessment, know that you still have to pay your school to send your transcript and certificate to them. Recently they started accepting a direct email from the school so a hard copy doesn't need to be sent all the way to Australia, this should save some cost.

189 may be a long wait but keep an eye on NSW and SA. Check all the states migration websites as well

As long as you can substantiate you performed some qs roles you are good to go.in the organization you work do you have any one who has an MRICs designation who can write a reference letter for you?what's your degree grade?do you have masters? .I have friends who got positive assessments from Aiqs.Mine came out negative, the reason was my big technology University did not meet their core competencies perhaps because I had a second class lower grade.and as long as your studies do not meet their core competencies your working experience do not count.I was advised to go get a masters in Quantity surveying or Construction management in an unaccredited school and work extra 2 years by AIQS then reapply or better still Go for a one year accredited msc and work for one year(both path ways must be under a supervising Quantity Surveyor)

I graduated with a second class lower too but I don't think that is relevant. I don't have masters degree as well and I'm 28.

I have some qs in my organisation in facility management department and procurement but I have no idea if they have MRICs certification.

You don't need to wait for two years to reapply. AIQS have issue recognising Btech quantity surveying. You need to apply for reassessment and have your school confirm to them the courses you took and their equivalent with AIQS.
Please search qstomiwa posts. He graduated from Futminna. He faced the same hurdle, he applied for reassessment and he finally got a positive assessment.
Do you mind if we rap on WhatsApp please?

Good day all. Please I want to make an enquiry. A friend who is an electrical engineer, worked with an establishment for about 3 years. But right now he has moved to the academic field as a lecturer / instructor ( Still lecturing in Engineering though, and always have chances of going for on the job training in his school). Now, he's asking if he can still do his assessment with EA claiming years with the company and in the academic field

It's not your grade. It's your number of years for your course that caused it.

Hi everyone, I'm new on this thread
Please, I have some questions...

1. Is it possible to use MSc to claim 1 year experience with Engineers Australia?

2. What is the best method to write a career episode to ensure a positive feedback? Is there any particular information they look out for in the assessment?
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by ChisZom: 1:21pm On Aug 23, 2021
3. Is it better to use a fast track service of 20 days or go through the normal processing service of 12 weeks with Engineers Australia

4.If I'm the primary applicant, does my partner's visa refusal from Canada affect our chance of getting an Australian visa?

5. Is it possible to get a grant even with the border closed?

Age: 33
IELTS LSRW 8.5 777 (for both my partner and I)
BEng Chemical Engineering
MSc Petrochemical Engineering
Work: Chemical Engineer (4 years)

Hi guys! I have read through many pages (kudos to all who have been answering questions) but i am still skeptical about my eligibility even after filling the point calculator which came out as 80.
I have a BSc Accounting -2013 and I have worked as an Accountant for 6 years. My IELTS band is 8. I am single and 32 years of age. I have ICAN but this being a Nigerian certification, I am willing to go for CIMA if this will help with my assessment. Or will just my BSc and ICAN be sufficient? My fear is; fund is limited, so of course I would like to put it to best use. Thank you in anticipation.

1. MSc is a degree, not work experience. With them, Work means full time employment with payment and tax records so you can't use it to claim experience.

2. Be as descriptive as possible, using relevant technical terms. Eg I chose a 3mm (measurement) steel rod over iron because the tensile strength (technical term) was calculated to be higher (informed decision making) using the ChisZom formula, ie, C2*H² bla bla. Don't overdo it though.

3. The borders are closed, till likely next year. Fast track is largely useless to you at this point. I'd do the 12 weeks.

4. Your Canada issue has nothing to do with this, unless it was based on a criminal issue

5. Is it possible? Yes. Is it likely? NO. Unless you have like 100 points on 189 in an occupation on PMSOL and have an employer ready to sponsor you, it's unlikely to get a grant now.

Hello Everyone. Thanks to Oga Bellong who created this thread. You are forever blessed Sir. To others who have helped selflessly and who are still actively contributing, thanks too.

On the 28th of March,2018 i got a negative assessment from AIQS. I had given up.I was advised by my case officer to appeal. On this thread i got in-touch with @qstomiwa and he guided me through my appeal process. He did this selflessly. He went through all my appeal documents and repackaged them. God bless you Tomiwa.

I followed Tomiwa's advice and recommendations from the assessors of my first application strictly and appealed. I got a positive assessment on 9th of August, 2018. My UniUyo BSC Quantity Surveying Degree that was previously not recognised because UniUyo was not recognised by CEP online was now recognized. My Unilag Masters Degree was recognized. My Work experience was recognised from when i got my BSC. QS Degree. Tomiwa was the brain behind the repackaging.

Thanks to @qstomiwa once again and to everyone helping in all ways.

@iamblisz . I use the moniker qstomiwa which you sent an email to, I replied without response from you. To have a suitable outcome with AIQS, you need a minimum of 2 years cognate experience under a supervisor who belongs to some international professional bodies as Nigerian Institute of QS is not formally recognised. I know 2 close people who used an NIQS supervisor, one has like 5-6 years and the other has like 7-8 years, it is risky to use an NIQS member, it depends on the case officer. If you had your BTech from FUTA, your degree might not be recognised and assessed as comparable to an Australian Quantity Surveying/Construction Management and Economics
degree cos the transcripts list only a small proportion of subjects that may directly relate to Quantity
Surveying (A lot of borrowed courses), another case officer might overlook this cos the two QSs I earlier mentioned finished from OAU and they have BSc not BTech. Based on the foregoing, I do not think you have the requirements to get a suitable outcome from AIQS, you can wait till you ve a minimum of two years work experience (IT experience not allowed), no one knows the future of this skilled migration thing as it is getting tougher every hour. Just my 2 cents.
