You will be patient if you have the staying power, getting cash flow from your Investments in form of dividends and coupons gives the staying power to keep on holding and also buying more in a down market

Funds in the retirement savings account of workers was used to buy the shares so it belongs to the workers.

Leadway Pensure is a company, if the company used part of its profit to buy FBNH shares then Odukale can appropriate such shares as part of his indirect holdings

Very difficult to successfully time the market.

Do you get weekly report from your Stockbroker that shows your average cost prices of your stocks? The average cost price will enable the investor to determine if he has made a profit and if the dividend yield makes sense

I have the following average prices from the report sent to me from United Capital.

UBA N3.50
Access N3.75k
Dangote cement N190
Dangote sugar N6.50
United Capital N2.10
APR N2.30
Vitafoam N3.20
Custodian N2.90
UPDC REIT N3.10
Zenith N16
FBNH N4.10
UACN N6.70
Lafarge N19.15
Airtel Africa N310
MTN N115.

Just make sure you don't runaway from the market when it is bearish, invest for cash flow from your Investments, diversify your gains in a bull market to less risky assets like fixed income, money market, small or personal businesses and appropriately priced real estate Investments, practice Naira cost averaging combined with Investing for dividend yields, dividend safety and dividend growth

Dividend safety: the free cash of the business is more than the dividend declared. The free cash flow is about 120% of the dividends. The business is consistent with dividend payments, dividend payout ratio is 70% and below.

Dividend yield: about few months ago I said it was a matter of time before either Zenith Bank would appreciate to the level of GTB or GTB would come down to the level of Zenith. That was at a time when the dividend yield of Zenith was over 13% while that of GTB was 10% after giving room for withholding taxes. Same way in less than 4 years Lafarge and BUA cement will sell at the same price.

Dividend growth: earnings must be growing, when earnings grow dividends must also grow. According to legendary Peter Lynch, earnings should grow at a rate that is equivalent or higher than the PE of the company. A growth company with a PE of 20, should have its earnings growing by an average of 20% in the last 3 years.
Dividend growth is where the real wealth are created and compounded.
An investor who got a dividend of 70k per share from Zenith Bank about 14 years ago, after giving room for bonus shares is now get a dividend of N3.10k

Meaning without adding to his Investments a dividend of N700,000 paid about 14 years ago, the same Investment is now paying a dividend a dividend of N3.1 million. Imagine the compounding growth if the investor bought more shares during the bear market

Right entry price is dicey, you will keep on getting good entry prices as the stock prices fall when the fundamentals are intact or even getting better, but the market didn't respond to the good performance.

I believe value and good performance can't be hidden forever, at the right time the stocks will be properly priced by the market

Is there a stockbroker whose stockbroker commission rate is 0.5% for the NASD OTC MARKET buy and sell transactions?
I intend to open an NASD OTC stockbroking account with this stockbroker.

Those in a WhatsApp group I belong to knew when I sold 95%. I started buying at N8.00 and stopped buy during the right offer in 2017 at around N40

I can't stand dividend reduction, dividend stoppage, earnings reduction or losses by a company, it means the dividends are not safe.

I sold 98% of my UBA shares in 2020 when the company drastically reduced its dividend, l used the fund to buy 2050 FGN bond at about 13.5% yield

PENCOM act is clear about it. Seye Kosoko the company secretary of First Bank is the one that included those shares as part of Odukale indirect shareholdings.

NGX actually queried First Bank concerning this, which they responded to. I guess NGX had to ask PENCOM for clarifications.

Stanbic IBTC Pension Manager is the biggest in the industry controlling 25% of pension fund, the promoters of the company have never appropriated shares bought by the pension fund manager as part of their indirect shareholdings

Oga emmanuelewumi...abeg can you throw more light on this FGN BOND investment through the secondary market? Can I purchase it directly through my online portal or do I need to contact my stockbroker to facilitate it?

Please I will appreciate if you share more knowledge generally about FGN BOND.

Seriously, 13.5% investment returns for a whole year? Inflation rate is currently 16.63% in Nigeria. fixed income investment like bond, mutual funds etc can't make you guys rich.

Take risks. Start a business and grow it or invest in startup business with long term potentials.

Fixed income returns beat the ASI total return in the last 12 to 16 years. Your N1 million invested in a conservative Fixed income Fund and compounded at an average rate of 13% would have grown to N4.3 million in 12 years.United Capital Fixed income Fund has an average return of 14.3% in the last 10 years oooo

Different strokes for different folks, just understand your game and stick to your strategy.

I can tell you that equities investors who are diversified into bonds, money market funds etc are the most liquid, relaxed, composed, versatile investors and are always well positioned to harness opportunities in the market. Hope you know that having cash is a strategy, but I believe having a steady and predictable passive cash flow is a better strategy

Investors got up to 18% from bonds about 4 years ago.

The steady income from fixed income gives you steady cash flow to keep on investing in undervalued equities every month till the maturity of the investment and until when the undervalued equities will be appropriately priced by the market.

Remember " equities make you rich, bonds keep you rich".

Hope you know the difference between saving bonds and FGN bonds. I don't buy saving bonds, I buy FGN bonds.

The bonds bought from your Stockbroker will reflect in your CSCS statement, while the one bought by your bank will not unless you include your Stockbroking account number and CHN in the form
