Another angle... I love this!

The story would have been different if he was shown holding money

But it says tithe, which is 10%

So, he obviously has 90% he can dabble with.

Just trying to be objective grin

Why won't u help the needy That's pure madness mehn, you can still recover your tithe and give it later on. Meanwhile FTC today, Seun how far?? make I send my acct number

Is it only the tithe he has?
Why do you people always focused on the tithe which is 10 percent and turn blind eye on the remaining 90 percent?

According to our Lord Jesus, of all the commandments, the greatest of them all is Love.
And again he said, whatsoever you do to the least of my brother's, that you do unto me.
This is the word of the Lord!!!

Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, (Mal 3:10a).If my spirit man give them money I will give them not my tithes
thank you bro! Now the food in the storehouse is meant for which people? The pastor and his family? Also, what exactly is tithe being used for nowadays? It is no longer used to store food on the storehouse.

It's a 2 way thing.
I'm not against Tithing if you key into it.
I'm only against pastors who preach you're not a Christian or you can't make it to heaven if you do not tithe.

It's ok if you ignore the beggar/poor some times and do that which is more important. Jesus preached this. John 12:8
.
But it's important to help the beggar/poor when you can.

This is where maturity in Christianity plays out.
Tithing is not necessarily a Christian thing, giving is. Giving to the church and the poor.
Cos tithing is an Old covenant. But Christianity is hinged on a greater covenant

Pastors agree that the old covenant is no longer as good as the new except only when it comes to tithing.

Parable of the Samaritan and the robbed man comes to mind!

If Pastor and his family will use my money to live a life of utmost luxury, why hand him more of my money?

If a Church has a more noble cause, then i will willingly give, and even more!

There was no lack in the early church, they shared everything...

Tithe isn't meant for the poor. Which bible are you reading? Oh... I forgot tithes are exclusive prerogatives meant for your thieving daddy GOs. Just re-read the nonsense you just spewed out of your trap of a mouth. You deserve a 2x2 plank to the face.

Scripture teaches three types of giving namely:-

1. Offering
2. Tithes giving
3. Alms giving

The brother is on the right track and even Jesus said, "the poor you will always have with you".

What is tithe meant for ? What does this mean? ...Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house.  The food in the house of God for who? The poor or the rich?
We,Christians are becoming hypocrites as each day passes by. Christianity is about salvation and feeding thr poor and widows. Anything churches do aside that are worldly things which is against God's will.

There is nothing to be perished there.

Have you given to the poor every single time you encountered them? Obviously No.

But you feel he would be punished if he doesn't give his tithe to someone in need? What if he can actually help them without using it?

Stop playing God over the man's decisions.

Did you finally read the passage
Or you have decided to perish in your lack of knowledge?

God bless you bro for the enlightenment!
Let the gullible that doesn't know right from left continue to be confused until redemption days!
• The Church is not govts ( local,State and Federal) that allocated so much Fund by Fiat through different Budgets- some Trillions for themselves with little to show at the end of the year!
• The Church cannot be subdued by direct or indirect attacks through Social Media profiling, especially those who wants to trend on Tithes matters.

Who says you can't give your tithe to the Needy and poor??
Go and read Deuteronomy 26: 12-13 and come back and say that again. It is the Bible that said it, not me. Unless you want to say that that portion of the Bible is false.

This portion of the Bible is one the Pastor will never allow the congregation to know.

Deuteronomy 26: 12- 13- When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
13. Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
