Good evening, I’m an introvert and I have an extrovert elder brother but sometimes the way he talks even if he’s not talking to me directly I feel his words are hitting at me directly and sometimes he says those words directly to me! Trust me it’s been like this for a long time but it’s hard for me to speak up or react at times because it’s who I am and I find it hard to react because he’s my elder brother and I have so much respect also due to my personality! We actually live in the same house with him and his wife and kids and to be honest I’m not happy being in that house but I’ve got not option for now… What can I do pls?

I read books and listened to loads of audiobooks on emotion and people management.

I stopped getting people to like me and become me

Went out more and made eye contact. Thanks to my job as a litigator and my ever beautiful DRS (with her husband's permission).

I joined several introvert groups on Facebook and learnt how to talk. Walahi! Introverts do talk and they are savages. Mostly beta kinda persons who are talkative if they are comfortable around you.

So, I started talking and joining arguments on stuff I have loved to talk about but normal people felt I didn't fit in. I stopped struggling to fit in cos I was me.

Listened to loads of podcasts and was addicted to quora. I still am kinda, unrepentantly anyway.

I burnt loads of bridges and started a journey on personal development.

Digested loads of all kinds of stuff on psychology and other weird stuff.

It's still a Journey, I am not there yet.

I have been assigned to manage bigger and more complex commercial projects this year and this will put me in a spot where I have to attend more meetings and meet more people.

Before I forget, I figured out a way to burn negative energy through youtube+gym. It always leaves me feeling better.

Can you share the introvert groups??The ones I'm in only lament on how difficult it is to fit in the society.

I now frequent Reddit and Quora.
I now exercise too.

My main problem is,I have what I don't like on my body.It serves as an insecurity to me.
That is what is preventing me from giving attention to all the female folks around me.

I have a very big head and I like it that. And I am always quick to tell people that their head is as big as mine and we laugh over it. I am kinda short though I wish I was taller like my younger siblings. But I do same, and before you yab me, I will be too quick to tell you that you are as short as me as shorter self. And we joke and laugh over it.


Learn to accept who you are.

Just begin. Anything worth doing at all is worth doing badly until you become a pro. That was all I needed to hear from Lex Brown in 2020.

I am introvert and married an extrovert person. It is not easy at times but have been doing my best to balanced the two.
