I'm a newbie in things about shares and I puchaesed mtn shares through primary offer. What should I do do be able to have access to my account to see my stock allotment?

You have been responded to, in the last page. Create an account with a licensed stock broker like Morgan Capital, IBTC Stockbrokers, etc.

I purchased mtn shares through primary offer and I was issued a cscs and chn number. Does it mean I have an account or should I go ahead with your instruction of creating an account with license broker?

Good. Choose a stock broker of your choice. I will suggest Morgan Capital. While filling their forms, ensure you fill exactly the cscs and CHN numbers which you have been given.

The account created for you is a non tradeable account. It is just for the certificate. You cannot use it to trade so you will have to open a new one if you want to trade or contact the broker used for you

Thanks BBM. I salute you sir.

We are entering the phase of aggressive bull rise on NSE and other EMs. During this phase, everything boat is lifted by the tsumani of money.

Many stocks can go on full bids for weeks. After many months, the mania reduces and people panic. When prices settle at rest, then the mania accelerates again.

This is the kind of comment I like to be readin on this platform.

Your Naira savings will earn 7.22% and 8.22% in the 2 and 3 years Federal Government Savings Bond.

Just confirmed from them that it is 14%, but they will decide the stocks you can buy with the loan.

This is a big NO for me, give me the liberty to buy whatever I want to buy provided I am servicing your loan.

Giving the list of what I can buy, can be monkey hunting.

I also confirmed that you can get a Share backed loan from Meristem Finance at 23% per annum.

It is advisable to take that than to go for the margin loan at 14%.

I hope you understand the difference between a Share backed loan and a margin loan?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by dharpzee: 10:36am On Feb 10, 2022
Yes, I do. Actually the Margin loan was good for me, at that rate. Already ending the gains.

With a N10 million portfolio you can get a margin facility of N10 million which you can use to buy additional shares. Giving you a total portfolio size of N20 million. The N20 million portfolio is with the Stockbroker who gave you the facility.
Most people who take margin loans hope to pay back through capital appreciation of their securities.
You options are limited with a margin loan, you can only buy stocks approved by the Stockbroker and the approved stocks can be reviewed, when a stock is no longer on the list you are expected to sell the stock or bring in more cash or transfer other acceptable stocks into the portfolio. The Stockbroker encourages more trading from a margin loan operator, so don't be surprised if the commissions paid is higher than you interest payments when you audit your margin account at the end of the year.

In a share backed loan, a portfolio of N10 million can assess a loan of between N4 million to N6 million depending on the quality of stocks in the portfolio. The portfolio with your creditor is just N10 million. You have the loan cash with you because the loan is paid into your bank account, you can decide on how you want to spend or invest the fund. Unlike a margin loan whereby your original portfolio and loan cash are with the borrower.Your primary means of paying back the loan is based on your cash flow, capital appreciation of the securities bought with the loan is more like icing on the cake.
People have used Share backed loans to expand their business, attend to emergencies instead of selling their shares in a down market.

Imagine those who sold their Zenith Bank shares at N11 in May 2020 in order to attend to emergencies, now the stock is up by about 150% excluding the dividends earned in 2021

You may wish to try your hand on it. But are you buying cuz u want or hope that it will overtake Guinness? Please have a reason why u want to buy it. I think the NB might deliver: the support around that region seems very solid and the volume in the last couple of days has been something else like something good is coming. I think also that board meeting na next week. So make ur decision after due diligence. God bless.

Given NB (48) and Guinness (50) at current price, I'll go for NB.
NB has always traded ahead of Guinness and, the rate at which NB is being accumulated since last year can't be ignored just like that.

Even before the results, Fidelity should be ahead of FCMB........but Mr. Market was just doing its things......
Can remember when the two were the point of focus here..... cheesy
One of the good things about FCMB is their MM though........ we'll see if they'll rise up the challenge, result will also play vital role here...
