It's edo black soup cheesy

Actually, the first day I saw it on YouTube I was shocked shocked
Then I saw the lady's kids devouring this soup.
I was like, if these kids can eat this, I can too cheesy

The day I made the first one, I have already sacrificed everything I put inside if it goes south.
To my greatest surprise, house shocked me especially the kids.
What happened is you blend your veggies. That's why it's dark.
It must have bitterleaf scent leaf and uziza. I think ugu too but I didn't put that one
Highly medicinal.
The best soup for diabetics.

I don't know why the soup is not well known.

The soup make sense oh. smiley

It's an Edo native soup.

Is it Edo or Ondo people. My mom is Edo and the only time I see them cook it was for special occasions. The Ikale people that I knew growing up will cook it on a normal day so it makes me feel it is more attributed to them than the Edo.

I don't know if Ondo people eat the soup.
I just know it's more common with Edo folks.

Probably.

When you travel to naija, don't you get these veggies in dried forms?

Aside ugu and green. I have all our veggies(dried)
Even bitter leave. I use food processor to wash bitterleaf, then boil like 3 times, by then, it will be soft like our normal onugu.

I discovered this soup recently.

Ate with cauliflower and white cabbage foofoo. Used 2 spoons of Oat as binder.
Slept like baby.

Oh how I love this soup.

In Ondo state,we call it Luru or Ekwere (Don't know if I got the spelling right)

It is made from a combination of ground leafy vegetables which gives it a dark color....This soup is a powerful antioxidant.

Eating this soup with pounded yam and downing it with fresh palm wine is so blissful, satisfying & refreshing.

The soup is best enjoyed when made with dried catfish, ponmo, goat meat and stockfish.
