"Well I didn't want to sound to desperate, and I'm sure my friend is also trying his luck." I replied.


"Which friend? Oh Zion? What did that boy tell you. He's joking joor." She replied.



"Well, I thought so too, I just wanted to hear from the source. So how are you? Shey una meat and drinks never finish?"



"I'm okay. And you didn't just ask about my meat and drinks right? Wait, did you call me to hear my voice or ask for food?" She jokingly said.



"All of the above. Well I wanted to hear your voice and ask for my share of meat, if any still dey, but your voice is like my food, I'm filled up just listening to it." I replied.


"Uhhh, that's kind of sweet, but we heard all of that in Secondary school." She teased.




"Anyway, I'm just calling to make sure your okay, and to say I missed you small, I can't still forget your face and your dancing steps."


Her silence proved that she was blushing anyhow over there as I showered her with stale accolades before promising to visit her one of these days.






"So you get babe and you dey pretend?" Zippop teased me.

I dialled another number. "Guy how far?"

He hailed Zippop very well and began exchanging slangs, he did the same with the second guy with us, they all knew themselves very well.

I didn't flinch, I just stared back into his eyes and said, "Baba, I'm nobody. Just call me "

"Toor today you go know me, feel free, do wetin you wan do. Nobody go touch you for here." He replied and left my hand that was shaking like an epilepsy patient.




I sat closest to the open space incase I needed to flee for any reasons. The tall, slim sister sat next to me, the busty, slim one with the second guy while Zippop sat with his woman, I just dey vex as I got the least pretty sister. But was I still had interested in any of them?




"Bros, where that dope nah? Abeg bring am make we begin catch Cruise." The girl with zippop asked her brother.


My mind skipped a beat. I thought we'll atleast go to a secured place to smoke not by the side of their house, but what do I know?

Everyone turned to look at me like they were seeing me for the first time, I smiled back calmly even though my heart was racing wildly.


"And na true oh, we supposed welcome am." The girl closest to me said as she brought out a bottle of syrup from her hip pocket and passed to me after sipping alittle.



I took a large swing as they road their approval, I don show say me sef dey game. The bursty sister brought out pills, I quickly pocket mine, that one na Faith dey do am, that's above my jurisdiction.



Then the first jumbo size of MJ was handed over to me. It was a little funny, they were giving me everything first like I was the king of Scotland.


In my life I've never hit that size of joint at once before, it looked intimidating. But then nothing wey fire no bit burn down.

All I had to do was to drag it judiciously till it finish burning, so I light it up.



Halfway through I was already out of breath, I was getting those Fela and Bob Marley's vibes. I was totally in the world of my own, infact no body high reach me for that place, I was at the top, looking down at the others.


The others were not far behind me, they were all at the top of their game, just that they were discussing and laughing amongst themselves while I just remained in my kingdom, surrounded in a blaze of glory.



Then somebody entered into my private space by tapping me. I turned to see another jumbo size blunt being passed to me.


"I never finish this one." I replied holding up my joint.


"And so what? There's more where that came from." The voice replied me back as I collected the second blunt.




Half of the things said there were above my jurisdiction, so I didn't bother to say anything, even if I wanted to speak, my voice was nowhere to be found so I went for another journey. This time to maybe, North Korea.


Cause I was seeing everybody in dwarf version and I was hearing strange languages, when in reality, the folks around me where having fun.



Their kid brother and father walked in upon us. I immediately froze.



One mind was telling me to throw my blunt away and pretend but my body refused to move, but something strange was happening, everyone were still gisting even in the presence of their dad and little brother, they didn't as much as acknowledge their presence talk more of get scared.



The two new visitors greeted us casually and walked passed me, direct to the big brother. The man handed his son a bottle of Gin and received the blunt his son was dragging in exchange.

My jaw almost fell off the floor as the father dragged the joint twice and handed to his little son, boy of not more than fifteen years.


The kid brother sat next to his big brother and continued smoking as the father left us after telling the last son to finish up the blunt and come help their mother in the kitchen. Omor X1000!!!





Before I'll recover from my shock, another jumbo blunt was passed to me. As I received it, I realized that I've amassed four extra sticks which I hadn't light up yet, but then, there was no use saying No anymore, I just kept collecting and storing them.



"Guy smoke this one finish make we dey go." Zippop whispered to me. I woke up with a start, looking around, wondering why I was there, then the voices came back, I looked at hand and bursted into a strange laughter.


There were sticks of blunts in-between every finger on my left hand, I couldn't remember when I placed them that way, the blunt I was smoking had already quenched, one extra was still between two fingers on the same right hand I was using to smoke, three more wraps on my legs too.


When did I collect all this blunts? I later realized that the elder brother wrapped for everyone at once, before himself, as soon as he finishes his blunt, he'll wrap for everybody again, it doesn't matter if you're still on your previous smoke, there was nothing like break. Chai Big Brother, I know you that day.


That young man wanted to crash my brain with igboh. So that Newspaper reports would state that; "Pastor's Son Runs Mad After Smoking 20 Wraps Of Marijuana. God forbid.



It was already a full blown dark night but all my eyes were seeing were, grey clouds, dark clouds, cloudy clouds. My legs were also missing in action because I couldn't find them anywhere.


My mind begin beat, I thought they might have harvested it to trap me there forever. But what did I do? I didn't disrespect anybody.

My mind entered into multiple monologues on its own; It went this way....



"Bros just relax your head for wall. Ehen, shey you see as you relax, oya pass out."


"Shebi you know this is not your house, you still need to go home. How would you go home sef?"



"And na true oh, distance between there and my house na like from Kano to London using the calculation of three steps every two minutes to get to the final destination."



"Omor no be small Waka be that oh, more reason why you should just pass out. Make person carry you go house."



"Who fit carry me for here? Zippop na same size with me, the other guy just big small pass me. Omor e don RED for me oh."

"Guy get up make we do two aside." Zippop whispered to me again breaking me out of my cruise world.


It took 33 seconds before the words registered any meaning to me.

"But I no get leg nah." I managed to say.




"Hahahahaha. Foolish boy, you don jam cruise wey pass your power, get up joor." He said pushing me lightly.


That was all the nudge I needed, I managed to find my legs under my hips and stood up, pocketing the multiple blunts into my jacket pocket.




"How far nah, which of the other two babes you go like, make you go talk to the girl, she might follow us if you want." Zippop said to me after dragging me few yards away from the rest.



"If who wants? Guy please, make we dey go house, my brain don choke like this, girls are the last thing on my mind right now, na my bed get me, that's if I don't pass out before we get home." I managed to reply.


"So You're not interested, is it?"



"Yes ohhh, infact I no dey come this area again, this folks don pass my power, see girls wey you want make I go toast, them pop pills tire plus syrup and smoke, and they are still active, look at that your friend, you no see say him never pass out for there? Imagine say one of them follow us go house, no be to go Bleep my life span finish?"




Zippop was trying to hold back laughter as I spoke. He urged me to follow him back to go greet them before we left but I instantly refused.

Anything that would take me close to those folks again, them fit force me to smoke one more joint, so I wasn't taking any chances, every evil plan against me, SHALL NOT PROSPER.



To prove my seriousness, I walked towards the exit direction, faced bush and started watering the grass with my blessed Urine.


I was still Peeing when Zippop and the other guy joined me, I wondered if I've been peeing for 40 years. They even finished and left me still Peeing. Then I calculated my urine drops and realised that I was speeding on four drops per minute cause the urine was so sweet, I didn't want it to end.


I caught up with the guys who were walking slower than snails. I intended to overtake them but the faster I walked, I still remained behind them.



"Guy how we wan take reach house today?" The other guy asked Zippop.


"Omor I don't know. We go just crash for my guy's house. The major matter be say I don tire to Waka, the house just farrrrr...... Peter, where my guy?"




"Which guy?" I replied as I raised my head and looked infront of me, just Zippop was walking alone.


We both turned in shock and turned back, his friend was seated on the floor way behind us. When did he drifted back? I didn't even see him lagging back, I was more focused on moving my legs on step at a time, hoping to see my house very soon.


Zippop walked back to his guy, I waited because I didn't see myself going back, then e shock me.


Zippop sat next to his guy and began making call. Is that so? Me sef siddon for ground for minutes till they got up and came to my side. Instead of dragging me up, they sat down next to me.


"Omor today cruise na war. If I dey Waka, be like my breath dey seize, na why I rest oh." The second guy informed me, I smiled and shook my head.



It became a game of wits and foolishness. One of us would stand up and start walking before the rest would join, as soon as the first person stops walking and crouches down, we'll join him and bend down too.




Naso journey of 10 minutes, we use roughly two hours to get to my house. By then I was walking on empty, half of my body organs were already alseep, only my mind and legs kept pushing forward.


As soon as we got to the front entrance, Zippop and his friend went to sit down next to the pillars. Instead of going to open the door, I felt left out, so I joined them there and laid my head on the nearest pillar as I drifted off to dream Land.



Mosquitoes must have harvested 8 litres of blood from our bodies because they were too satisfied to bite when again, they were more interested in doing all night party next to my fresh ears.


Without so much as a sideways glance, I casually stood up, stretch my arms and fished out my keys, my phone was still intact, thankfully. I opened my door, locked it back before crashing on the parlour sofa.
