Vote wisely?? grin grin grin

You want to build a house let's say in your village but you live abroad so you need someone that can build and that can also supervise everything related to building it! So you approach the king of the village seeking such a builder. The king presents 3 persons for the task and tells you to choose one:
(a) A fisherman
(b) A farmer
(c) A baker
Then he remarks "vote wisely"

Is this not laughable. Can you not see that you are doomed no matter how you vote?

Doomed? Alright sir.

Looking at MORNINGSTAR for fund ownership changes in UBA (for the top 20 fund holders) reported in about the last 30 days.

"Mazi Asset Management Prime A" picked more UBA shares.

The funds have increased their total holdings in UBA slightly.

*NB: This snapshot information is belated as some of the funds above may have even dumped their holdings or acquired more. Suspect more were dumped and that's what is bringing current UBA share prices down. Updated snapshots will reveal if this is so.

Hi @yMcy5 Please do you have any stock recommendations for a sister? smiley smiley
And is it a good time to sell UCAP
You may have to exercise patience for now......till all these response to increased MPR and Nigeria's deficit news died down, and market shows some signs of stability at least.

As for UCAP, it depends entirely on you and your objective for buying it.
From observation, UCAP has been showing some resilience in the face of the sell offs. Good Q2 result has also helped to prevent steep dumping in the stock so far...,..but like I said, it entirely depends on you and where you intend to invest the fund if you choose to sell it. Just make sure such investment will give you more value for your money.

Monkeypox is now trending all over EU, US and the world at large.

Something that even many Nigerians have not seen any person suffering it or even if they had seen, they are very few. It is a very rare disease and seeing the sufferers is usually a bad sight to behold.

And now it is trending. Awon were jatijati.

What could be the likely impact?

Looking at events in the last 2 years, it is very likely the releases of these events are there to crush demand for fuels, foreign and domestic travel, hotels, vacationing companies etc. If the panic spreads as they are hoping, they tend to boost healtcare and pharma, hygiene goods, food storage/hoarding, vehicle leasings/rentals, online education etc. So these are areas of investment that may see a boost if they spread the panic like they did for covid.

Effect on NSE?

I don't think there will be any negative impact on stocks that cater for these events(highlighted above). 100K here we come.

Stay safe.

https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/monkeypox-outbreak-constitutes-global-health-emergency-who-2022-07-23/

WHO has declared this a global health emergency.

Forecast remains same. See the sectors they want to crush. And see the sectors that could benefit.

Two things can happen :

(1) oil and other commodities crash as people panic and go indoors again as govt institutes another harsher lockdown.

(2) oil and other commodities don't crash as oil producers sell their commodities at their own high term and people don't go into lockdown. Other commodities rally to all time high.

In both cases, food remains sought after as you must eat to stay alive.

Lots of people are wearied by the lockdown and they could disobey this time ala Sri Lankan Style. This brings out another form of tighter control via electronic tagging, bank account restrictions, digital currencies (easier to know what you have and block your account once you are found in a questionable group of protesters), communication block etc.

You are not the cause of these events. So trade it.

Books like

CHARTS DO NOT LIE- THERE IS CURRENTLY BIG RISK IN THE NIGERIA MARKET
Review of the current postion of the Nigeria All Share Index Chart and charts of major equities is telling us that that there is a big headwind ahead in the market.

I cannot imaging the likes of MTNN, breaking to the downside and the same may apply to OKOMU OIL. Okomu oil may probably break to the downside, and if this happens, it may be a massive one for this stock.

This is not a time to be aggressive in buying stocks.

In investing best decision you can make is to follow someone that knows how to navigate the market. Reading one million books will be of very little assistance to you, someone with practical experience mentoring you is the best. Our daily report on what to do when market opens tommorow has been sent to our subscribers so that the can plan what to do when the market opens (there cannot be much surprise from the market for our subscribers, we even have a fair idea of what the likely earnings for the major equities will be? ) .

Wishing all, happy new Trading week.

* I need advice as I am loosing so much already.
I tried to check Livestock's Quarter 1, 2022 to see what could have gone wrong...........and then saw that Gross profit and Operating profit were good BUT Finance Cost chopped so much into the profit....
In "Note 10", finance cost was the interest paid on loan.......which was on the high side....
* Guess this was mostly responsible for the drop in share price, coupled with the downturn in the market. It is well o.

As it is now, if you sell, you'll be selling at huge loss, maybe you just "siddonlook" for now like my ogas said. Once it bottom and market is looking up, you may either average down OR, you wait to see what Q2 will bring to the table, d shedding may turn to price appreciation if Q2 is good.
