The most worrisome part is when the adopted kid grows up and finds and goes bk to the biological father or mother 2 Likes |

What of kids that kill their own biological parents. If you train a child well, he will grow up to be a good person. Except in very very rare case where the child is destined for destruction. It doesn't matter whether adopted or biological. 5 Likes 4 Shares |

JackDaAlienz:abeg Rest, this analogy is nonsense... Your own personal child can do to you everything you just mentioned about those two boys and more, so relax.. The thing is to pray to God to give you good children, I have seen adopted children that threats their adopted parents better than the parents own biological child, Infact one just willed 70% of her property to her adopted child and 20% to charity and 10% to her own son who made her life a living hell and squandered all her fortune.. I see this things everyday due to my line of work, so relax 7 Likes 4 Shares |

JackDaAlienz:It was not adoption but how they were trained. Your dad's friend did a bad job. Even if they were his biological kids, they would have turned out exactly the same way. So don't blame it on adoption. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Adoption isn't the reason those kids turned out like that...he failed woefully as a father and mentor to them. |

JackDaAlienz:The Holy Bible says, train up a child in the way he shall go, and when that child grow up, he will not depart from the training he has got. No different from adopted children and your biological children when you train them well. There are many adopted children who are doing very well than even the biological ones in the family. |

Nazgul:Strong points you have there. But you missed a fact that nothing under the sun can be hidden forever. No matter how foster parents keep the adoption a secret, it will definitely become known sooner or later, and I can assure you, the reaction from the child may be dangerous. I rather think it's better to keep it secret from other people but at an appropriate time during childhood, the child should be revealed his/her true status. It's better the child hears about it from the foster parents and starts on time to deal with it than to hear it from outsiders 3 Likes |

You're some how correct, but not all of the adopted kids turn out bad, but 2009 in onitsha, I witnessed a tragic incident where an adopted man collided with his wife and butchered the mother that adopted him to death, the woman was a qualified nurse and own a private hospital with her husband, when neighbors caught he confessed that he did it because the woman did not tell him that he was adopted, that people use to tease him for being adopted. Imagine such wickedness. The other one I know in a town next to my village poisoned the only child of the woman that adopted him to death and was chased out of the village for so many years. Since after this two incident, my prayer for every married person is for God to bless them with a child of their own. Adoption should be a sacrifice to help the less privileged kids have a home of their own and not as your future generation. E get why 2 Likes 1 Share |

A woman in a satellite village in Abuja is going through the same experience with boys she adopted few years ago. There is need for more research on the cause of this trend. It's not merely a coincidence. 1 Like |

Your conclusion is wrong; I've seen people that their natural children "killed"! I've seen people that were lifted by adopted children. Your singular personal experience is not enough. Haven't you seen people die in auto accidents? Are you not planning to buy a car? Do you know the number of people that die in air crashes? Why haven't you condemned aeroplanes? 6 Likes 1 Share |

JackDaAlienz:Food for thought sir. Africans once used to bury people alive to appease the gods The Europeans were the most warlike race in the world once. They never stopped fighting. WW1 and WW2 happened in Europe Arabs were the most backwards race in the world once. There's no distinct civilization and age that can be traced to them. Mongolians were for long seen as the most religious groups of people in the earth. They believed in, and worshipped almost everything and anything. Fast forward to 2022 Africans have totally or almost totally abandoned their gods. Europe is about the most peaceful continent on earth. Arabs more boast of cities like Dubai and Mecca where the whole world converge. Mongolians are largely atheists. Atheism is a state policy in China, the Mongolian race's largest country. Point to note: Genetics does not determine how anyone will turn out. The concept of turning out is called socialization not genetic mutation. If it were genes, all the races would retain their initial state till now. I hope you get the logic. Don't blame genes. Blame the environment. Bill Clinton, possibly America's greatest president of the 21st century was an adopted son too. 7 Likes 7 Shares |

How a child turns out to be as an adult, is consequence of how he/she was trained and it course, their environment. Where an adopted child turns against the adoptive parent(s), the remote cause is; gossip or lack of love from family member(s), kins, neighbours or members of the community they grew up. A "well-trained child would most often, become a good adult." |

I've seen adopted children who later grew up and became very substantial and important personalities in their respective fields. That your father's friend's adopted children became errant youngsters is a function of a number of factors like : parental upbringing, Peer-pressure, Environmental factors and a lot of other small characteristics that are easily neglected. Even kids of pastors, imams, professors etc have been known to turn into hoodlums. My father always told me, that I should always pray for grace, patience and strength to train my children the right way. Training a well behaved child in this secular world full of all sorts of immorality isn't an easy feat. Training a child is one thing, for that child to follow the foot steps you have laid is another thing entirely. You can't simply place a stereotype on all adopted children because of one bad case you've encountered. Children are and will always be a gift from God. We just need to pray to God to keep our children on the right path because we can't train them all by ourselves. 7 Likes 3 Shares |
