That's the sad reality of life....the poor always supporting the rich to oppress them.....the rich always lying to the poor that the oppression is for their benefit......the rich gets richer....the poor gets poorer

Guess who is making money from the new currency swap....the rich

When Fela sang shuffering and smiling, people hated him for it because they couldn't face the truth. This is some extreme form of cognitive dissonance. Nigerians are a special breed man.

President know the corrupt and know how to tackle them if he has political Will, all these muchroom policy won't have an inch impact on politicians but masses.

If you check the highest shareholders in the Nigerian banks they are politicians and their friends. So they will be the first to be favoured before anyone. If the banks don't do their bidding they will move their cash out of the banks

When the president wanted to end the use of old #1000, #500 and #200 by January 31, he made it look as if he is trying to checkmate corrupt politicians from having naira note in their private vault, and so many sadist commended him thinking that it is the political class that will suffer.

Just three days down the line, the reality is setting in and people could not buy or sell because of paucity of new notes and the politician that was taught to be the ones to bear the brunt do not join the ATM queue to withdraw the new note.

In my area, I have not heard of any big politician complain, it's just a call from bank managers and bags of new notes are taken to their houses, so will want to ask, in your area who is bearing the brunt: the politician or the masses?

OP you just echoed my sentiments. This reeks of either gross incompetence or a government that has excelled at taking the intelligence of it's citizens for granted time and time again, or both. This is the party people are planning to vote in again. I rise

It's so sad, the damage the delay in announcing the extension caused is still being felt.

Most people had saved all their cash in banks, to withdraw it is now the problem.

Banks can't give you old notes again and they don't have the new ones either.

Only the ATM is paying cash now , but they are very few it like 1 out of f10 in every area.

The old notes are still the only legal tender that's widely in circulation.

You can only get it from POS operators

Everybody is suffering it. You don’t know that the politicians are also suffering because you don’t have access to them on a daily basics. Those that are close to them know what they are currently passing through because very soon, most of them will lose billions of Naira they buried in the soakway which they cannot swap. The thing go soon turn beans.

The masses must feel it.

He said they should end new notes by 31 Jan.
You people were stoning him up and down.

The new order changed everything.

See the conversation:

PMB: Hello Emefie… Kai, I went to Katsina, people were stoning me…. I thought they should be happy to see me.

Emefiele: sir, even the senate were threatening me to extend the date…

PMB: I know they are the one behind that attack in Katsina, poor masses, they don’t know I am trying to favor them?

Now this is the order: Extend the date for them but no money should go out, only accept money. They must get sense first.

Emefiele: But that will jeopardize the purpose of the changes of the design sir and you know will have spend a lot on this …..

PMB: aaaahhhh…. Don’t worry. Tinubu and co has escape this one, I will soon step down. I don’t want my village people to be my enemy.

It's everywhere na we masses dey suffer pass. ATM only gives 20,000. I needed 100,000 to buy goods. They are villagers that do deal with bank transfer. I went to the POS and the guy told me he will be deducting 10k for 100,000k.
Who do my country like this

Both of them. You don't need to hear politicians complain in your area, they are complaining on the media and in the National Assembly. Even Tinubu is complaining that it is targeted at Him.

We will all gain , eventually when politicians who have been hiding loot in. wells and soakaways are forced to bring their monies into the banking system or lose it completely.

The main suffering we are facing is with the banks hoarding and POS operators taking advantage of people's desperation.

At least we are gradually moving to cashless economy.
Re: New Naira Notes: Who Is Suffering Now - The Politicians Or The Masses? by philos(m): 12:27pm On Feb 02, 2023
You see, believe it or not, it's true the masses are momentarily affected by this policy, the truth remains that corrupt politicians were targeted, and they are still the one to suffer great loss in the long run.

History has shown that Nigerian Legislature has NEVER cared about the masses, so this their cries for the suspension of the new Naira policy is because they know it'll affect them, not that they care for the masses!

This is a battle for the soul of Nigeria, especially as it concerns the economy. If we can be patient with CBN, ordinary Nigerians will win! Remember, If you fight corruption, corruption will definitely fight back. Corrupt politicians are fighting hard against this CBN policy.

Above all, I beg you all, get your PVC and vote out the OLD ORDER and let's birth a New Nigeria.
Together We Can!
Our Mumu Don Do!!!!!

No matter what, I still support the exercise.
Its only he who want to suffer will suffer this exercise.
This is simple just get some little cash handy and make use of any of the electronic handles for your transactions.
