Yes,I'd mistakenly transferred 55k to an unknown account from my Uba.
I went to the bank to complain, they contacted the person and the money was blocked.

My money was later returned after 12days.

Are people really that dumb? That they can't verify the name of who you are transferring money to. That mistake is the dumbest mistake have ever seen or heard.

Forget about being dumb, it occurs many times maybe due to trying to do many things at the same time. It happened to me once, I sent 100k to a wrong Gtb account till today I don’t know the person who owns the account because it looks like an Hausa name and Gtb bank was not helping either. I once received 3M from my business partner by mistake who saved my account number as beneficiary and I sent it to him back although we never met in person before but I’m bigger than that.

Yes that year i was working in lagos i help a damcel who apparently studied in Lead city Uni from Ibadan, challenge to lagos, we chatted and laugh together till we got to her destination. we exchange contacts hoping to see again in future. Now, her name was similar to my girlfriends name only her middle name was different. . So one faithful day my girlfriend was having her convocation requested for some money but i wanted to surprise her with just 50k. I had cash on me and i approach a POS stand to transfer the money. I didnt even remember to request for her account detail i already taught i had some reference of some last transactions i last did to her. . Now when i got to the POS i checked on my phone to retrieve her details but my bat3 immediate went flat i use my other phone to quick put a call through to her but unfortunately i called this other lead city lady who also bear Ajoke Olaniyi, she picked the call immediately and she was not audible clearly because the background was noisy i didnt know she was also having a ceremony in her school, so i said Ajoke please send me you acc. detail. Immediate she sent it and i just copied and gave it to the POS merchant like that and she sent it, in my taught i had transfered 50k to my girlfriend. After about 10mins she called me to say thank you and also her friends were shouting in the background saying thank you. Immediate i called my Babe middle name and the girl kept mute for a sexonds. It was then i realize that i had bleeped up.. I just told the lady to enjoy the money. . still today i didnt know what came over me

Yes, mine was to transfer from my acct to another of my acct, and I didn't confirm the recipient because the guy has the same name with my first name and surname....and boom it went and a chilled cold send down to my spine, anyways I later quickly traced the guy and he refunded me back. 150k no be small moni nah

It happened to me yesterday, I was driving and trying to transfer fund from one of my account another and I realized I transferred N10,000 to my ex girlfriend when I got home.

One was to a friend who returned 450k and the other was my mom who didnt return it.
She returned blessings and prayers instead of 450k.

Yes I mistakenly transfered 25k to wrong account last year in the month of August and I quickly realized it after two days , I rush to the bank and I was told that the person rushed and withdrew the whole money then my bank escalated the case but till today the money is gone.

Nigeria is not yet a developed country to go cashless. I made a payment through pos with my access bank yesterday.Transaction was 'decline'After i left the pos stand halfway,i received a debit alert.I went back today and insisted i checked the pos transaction history.The transaction truly 'failed'My money has not been reversed after 24hrs.and i don pay through my opay wallet for the purchase sincf yesterday.Opay should be substituted for nigerian online and pos banking transactions.

right account but multiple unsuccessful attempts (service time out) via USSD, finally used POS to withdraw cash and paid the receiver.. minutes later debit alerts started popping in … all failed attempts were successful

Yes I have, I think it was around 2019, I was supposed to transfer to my friend account because he was to bail his car, 150k, I tried using my app but the stupid app was misbehaving, I hurriedly drove to the nearest ATM, I wrongly put the last number without checking the names because the machine didn’t display receiver name, I think I used the wrong section for transfer. Long story short we discovered after 2 days, I went to the bank to make complaints, bank manager ask me to go take police and court report before they can check if the money is still in the receiver’s account. Luckily after some discussion with the bank manager he called the receiver, a lady in port harcourt. Good people are still in Nigeria, the money was still intact and she said she’s waiting for the sender to call and return the money. God bless her wherever she is now

Haven't mistakenly transferred money to the wrong account but has transferred to the wrong person. Uptill now the person has changed location and has refused to refund the money. It is well.

Guys mine was 3m, i want to transfer it from my target account to another of my account in another bank, i have seen my surname in the other account, so i didn't care to check the other names. Naso i ok the transaction o. expecting to get alert from the other account i send it to,I did not get it so i thought it was next work issue. Omo at about 9pm, i say make i check my mail, i saw debt receipt of the 3m,as i check am, omo no be my name dey d transaction, my liver cut, I clean my eyes well well if i dey see double. wen i check am again na my sister account the money enter, se me see wahala . I first thank God se no be another person account d money. 6am the following morning i don land her house grin
