Why do all think abroad is everything? I lived and worked in Europe for 8 years working in several countries including the UK as a professional engineer. I got tired of Europe, moved back to Nigeria and doing like 3-4 times better than I was living in Europe.

Just to let you know, the security guard in the company I worked for while in Aberdeen was a Nigerian with MSc Oil and Gas from Robert Gordon University. The kitchen staff was filled with Nigerians with various UK masters degree. I even met a LUTH trained medical doctor washing plate in London back in 2011 and advised him to go back home. The point is, abroad is not as sweet as you all paint it to be.

Its better you encourage him to work hard on his career or business interest since he has decided not to travel.

Judging by most of the posts in the thread, you will think the streets in Europe are paved with gold. Just today I saw a Naija man who is living in the car park of a supermarket with boxes of only God knows what next to him. He obviously has mental problems but how did it come to this.
I repeat, if you can't make it in Nigeria then you can't make it anywhere else. A country of over 200 million people and you think coming to Europe will solve your problem. You can't come up with the innovative ideas because your body is in Nigeria but your mind is outside.

I'm typing from America and I can tell you that there are people in Nigeria who are even living better lives than those in U.S and vice versa too. You can go there for a while and see how it is. If you don't like it go back to your Nigeria. Atleast you will have family and friends surrounding you in Nigeria. You will eat local foods without any wahala. Good weather. A culture you're used to. But remember there is not constant electricity also, no good roads, poor health care etc. So both have advantages and disadvantages.
