This month my younger sister left for UK and it's remaining me.
Documents and all papers are right and after couple family intervention I decided to go for interview.
I really didn't want to go to Uk
I love my life here in Nigeria tho things are hard.. it's still my home
I feel more connected to my father's land.
Going to abroad is not my plan. My mother thinks I'm possessed by spirit that want me to not succeed.
My uncles have pleaded with me to go and join my mum and sis in UK.

I was given UK visa last year, refused to join my sister that traveled this May

honestly I don't want to move to Uk.
I know how hard life can be in 9ja but i still love this country.
Mumsi says she is really dissapoinmented in me for staying back.
Did I do anything wrong?

u did nothing wrong. Go only when ure happy and interested in going especially if u have something doing here that valuable.

However if ure not making any sensible living or working on something that will advance u here then why not think of opportunities elsewhere?

However I don't believe in forcing adults to relocate.

Liar. Tinubu spent over 20 years in Chicago U.S, and Dangote and Obasanjo schooled abroad. Only Ngige stays here.

9 out of 10 Nigerians that made it at one point traveled out. This boy is young and inexperienced.
You dey mind that guy. All the names he listed non of them have poor background. Always tryna use big names to console themselves... Tinubu, Obasanjo and Dangote are all dual citizens.

The lazy Nigerian Youth, you don't want to go hustle in the UK abi...dey wait for monthly allowee?? Continue oo

Guy, clear your eyes...Go hustle and make your own money in the UK...Nigeria isn't looking good the way buhari is leaving it, it will be very difficult for tinubu to grow this country.

Forget those calling you names. Personally I don't think you are wrong. I have always had the same mindset but last year I got a fully funded scholarship for PhD and had to travel to Europe. I have been here for some months and I keep wondering why Nigerians and Africans keep overhyping it. To me japa is not to blow but rather to survive because many just slave to pay bills. For many, the only thing that interests them is the pictures they take and all that. If you are business inclined, Africa is certainly where the money.

Well I understand your view and wouldn't blame your judgment.... life isn't way we see it, but all about what we experience. I have lived in Nigeria all my life over 40yrs and relocated to the UK about 6months ago its not a bed of roses here you must work to earn just like every other places in the world. If you're fine in Nigeria please stay and if you feel you want to experience the world in another environment you can come if its not late yet. Follow your mind we struggle here in uk too just like we do in Nigeria...... just have a feelings that UK is over hyped. Don't get me wrong its a good place to live but not worth dying to relocate...

Not everyone must Japa but it's always good to have options.

Think about the consequences of your decisions; present and the future and be ready to accept them.

You can take some leave from your work or business and pay a visit. Survey the terrain, understand the environment and see if it's worth it.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Honestly, not everyone will Japa.

He should just weigh the consequences of his decision and hopefully doesn't become like those parents who keep telling their kids of the opportunities wasted to travel out.

Naija as we know is not getting better.

It also depends on what type of visa they've packaged for him. My suspicion is that it's a visit visa but even at that the fact that he has people over there might probably make the transition easier.

Bro you did nothing wrong. It is not true that anyone, only needs to relocate to Europe before you can make it or become rich. There are many poor Europeans who can't even buy sanitary pad. Yes the environment is much conducive and there is a system that makes social infrastructure available and maintained but there are other issues of life that these white people are grappling with. How many people who have Japa had become rich, some of them have regrets but they will never come out to say it. You will have to work and work throughout your life. Life in Europe is about bills and bills. There are limitations for you as an immigrant, especially black race. Though you will enjoy the environment and the social infrastructure plus health care but it only makes sense if you go to work for few years and return home to invest and enjoy freedom here . The truth is the 'believe factor" is very important in life. If you believe you can make it here in Nigeria and you work hard and give it adequate time you will surely make it. Likewise if anyone believes he can only make it if he relocates then he or she should relocate and define the making it before relocating, research enough to know the path and be ready to work hard. People, please let's respect the decision of anyone who decides to remain in Nigeria. Stop abusing or cursing anyone who decides to remain here. Japa is not meant for everyone. Please also note that Nigeria is not as bad as most Nigerians and international media are projecting. Remember the whites are deeply involved in the rot that is eating up Africa, neither are they making the immigration programs for our good, it is to develop their economy. My wish is that a good percentage of Nigerians who have Japa can develop themselves in many spheres and return after a while to contribute to the growth of Nigeria and Africa at large. There is still hope for Nigeria, either you believe it or not. Nigeria would be better bit by bit. Bless Nigeria with your tongue, don't curse your land. You may be forced to return to Nigeria someday, so bless and contribute your quota, either you are here or abroad. I come in peace. God bless you. God bless Nigeria
