You are really fortunate to have the opportunity to travel overseas, but you must always follow your heart in all you do.Travelling overseas doesn't always guarantee unlimited success in one's life.A man here in Nigeria can break bounds in success unlimited, while someone in the US or Europe might be struggling to make ends meet. Destiny plays a big role in this. 6 Likes |

SultanOfAbia: No. Not yet. If it so develops that Nigeria "happens" to you one day (I hope not), you may feel you did. |

SultanOfAbia: If you've no genuine plans for remaining in Nigeria, you're simply an idiot and you think life is one to play with. Otherwise, tell the forum why you want to remain in Nigeria so that we can know if you're a serious or unserious human being. Mumu |

You didn't say what you currently do in Nigeria or the plans your mum has for you in UK so I can't say if you made the right decision or not. However, never follow the band wagon. That's all I can tell you for now. Momma knows best sometimes though. |
Re: Am I wrong for Rejecting a UK Visa? by Baatunde(m): 8:27pm On May 26, 2023 |
Which visa were you granted? Visiting or settlement? I am guessing it is visiting since it is most likely you are over 18 and can no longer depend on your mum. If that is the case, it is not worth throwing away whatever good stuffs you have going in Nigeria presently to become an illegal immigrant in the UK. If on then other hand you got a settlement visa, you can still make good use of it by retraining and upskilling yourself to get a decent job whilst still having the opportunity to maintain your ties to Naija SultanOfAbia: |

SultanOfAbia:Nigeria doesn't give a hoot about you.. Your choice anyway. Everyman lives with his choices and the result of it... It's because you didn't think critically.. Critical thinking is very important. You Mum went there, she suffered hard to give her kids the opportunity... But you threw it away. And you think she won't be disappointed? Well, I wish you the best and hope you make it in Nigeria. It'll always be our HOME |

SultanOfAbia: My cousin even has a right of abode but chose not to use it. It's no biggie. Most people don't give a rat's ass about relocating. I personally only go for trainings sponsored by my office and spend not more than an hour longer than the trainings end, sometimes I leave a day before like my last trip in December when I left on a Thursday while the training was to end on Friday. It's all about choices and no biggie 4 Likes |

SultanOfAbia: I think your deserved to be happy and you hav made the decision that best suits you... The only thing I would advise you to do... if you have the finance... try and book a return ticket to the UK.. visit your family in the UK and let them know you only came for visit and you are not staying... It's better that way... atleast you hav satisfy them by visit... it's better that way so they won't be upset with you for very wrong time.. 2 Likes |
