It would be cheaper compare to if it still imported. The cost of importation incured by importers of fuel would not be there.

For instance if fuel without subsidy from USA cost 2 dollars per litre plus shipping, the cost might be 1.7 dollars from Dangote without landing cost from USA. So marketers in turn would be able to lower their price because there would be more competitions now that everyone with money can book and buy directly from Dangote.

Dangote is in for business and not a charity organisation if you can understand this then know you should know why Dangote will not sell fuel cheaply...

Dangote or no Dangote, the price might hover between 500-700.

You also have the issue of the exchange rate to factor in. Crude oil is priced in dollars. A litre of Brent is $0.49. Multiply it by 700 and you get N343,

Then you have the refining cost etc.

you can choose to believe or not. They sell because they need naira and they sell most of the time to CBN. That's just IOC that I am sure of. I am sure other industry that transact mostly in usd too will sell to CBN.

As the only working refinery in Nigeria Dangote has monopoly. So landing cost or not nobody is giving you fuel at giveaway prices...

No, fuel is going to cost way more with subsidy removal. Also, dangote is a private company and he will sell to make profit. The interesting thing is fuel prices will vary when subsidy gets removed. It's going to be largely dependent on crude price and and other minors like distance from refinery. Fuel might cost over 500.

All those dollars that would have otherwise been used for fuel importation will be less demanded,hence reducing the cost of a dollar/appreciating the naira. It's that simple.
