YoungBuffet: Is crude oil still headed for $65 per barrel after the recent OPEC+ cuts of 3.66 million barrels per day? I'm sure your indicator saw that coming. Do you think it will still hit that price soon? How soon? 2 Likes |

ositadima1: Lollll oil will tank even with the cut in production can't u see the price is fighting hard to move? It will tank the time I don't know. U guys like to be told what will suit your mind and any contrary opinions u called that person many names. I gave up finally on the reasoning of some people here the day I mentioned that the minibull price target for zenith was 75, GTB 90 access 45 and I got like 6 likes then I finally resorted to maintaining my sanity. Finger crossed! |

YoungBuffet:...It's interesting! I would love a situation whereby every assertion is supported by data, explaining your thinking process why you think oil will tank to $60 or thereabout. I agree with @YoungBuffet that oil can dip despite OPEC cut looking at technical data, but we all will learn if you can buttress your opinion with data or why you think a certain asset can rise or fall. Just my opinion though. 1 Like

BullBearMkt: I am not an expert, but I understand that the price of commodities is heavily influenced by supply and demand... of the commodity unlike stocks. The United States and some European countries are facing economic challenges, but the Chinese economy is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. I feel it offsets major demand fluctuations. On the other hand, Russia, Angola, and Nigeria are not producing at full capacity, and OPEC is reducing production. This decreases supply. If crude oil prices were to fall to $60 per barrel, it would be due to an unforeseen event that will not show on your chart. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Agbalowomeri: 7:22pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
But then, it appears that oil price has decoupled from naija stock exchange unlike those days when both were reasonably positively correlated. But maybe a dip to 50 or below could start impacting on the market. OPEC cuts take sometimes before the influence is seen on oil price |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by BullBearMkt(m): 7:27pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
ositadima1:One of the factors affecting oil price is demand and supply as you mentioned. Other factors also include, USD price and market speculators to mention but a few. With USD rising, oil price MAY decline despite demand/supply. So there are many other factors involved. Not only demand and supply. Natural/global events like war etc have effect also. |

I'll add meristem - as a 3rd- with a caveat. I still had to chase them for my dividends. Some other ones like First Registrars and Datamax with their fancy platforms where you pay annual subscriptions just to see your holdings (a service you pay CSCS for, your broker provides same service) shouldn't really be in business esp for diaspora folks because you can't just walk into their offices so you are left to the whims and caprices of their customer service. You will send emails, counter emails, chasers with zero response. When they eventually respond, you will wonder if anyone bothered to read your initial emails. Until listed companies or regulators start to switch their registrars to capable ones or fine registrars for withholding payments to shareholders, dividends will continue to be unclaimed. Long rant over, I'm still chasing the aforementioned registrars for my dividends. EDUECO: |

locodemy:Lol. From all indications, JAPAUL has good and robust business, it has prospect, it's the management issue that is currently the major concern with the company. I just believe if there could be reorganization, which I think the coy is working on, together with a catalyst (funding or bringing new investors on board), it should be able to deliver.......even if it's not now, in near future I Blvd. The current bid is nothing compared to the big traffic it would generate when the time is right. With its dredging activities, marine activities, channelling some efforts towards Lekki-Epe axis, offshore services, local disbursement of cabotage funds, Mining licences secured, etc. Besides, it has just 6.2B as OS. Lol. It's not marketing oo. At least if I could be posting about other stocks, I think posting about JAPAUL shouldn't be a crime here either. 2 Likes 1 Share |
