emmanuelewumi:Out of curiosity, why will I buy a N30 million naira savings bond at 8% when FGN bond is going for circa 14% unless of course if she's willing to sell for a lesser amount to improve the yield. 2 Likes |

crownprince2017: Calm down. You are not being scammed. Meritrade for me is superb and i even chat with their customer care at odd hours. Infact its on the meritrade website i realised that chatting with customer care actually works. I always ignore that button on other platforms. The way it works is this: 1. Your meritrade account is opened immediately. 2. Meristem applies to Open a CSSC account for you. 3. Your CSCS account is opened. 4. The account takes about 2 days or less to be verified by CSCS. 5. Your account is then funded. 6. Remember to opt out of direct cash settlement so than when you make a sale, the proceeds are credited to your meritrade account and you can buy other stocks with it immediately. If you dont choose this option, Proceeds of sale will be credited to your bank account after 3 days. 7. At some point during the verification, you would not be able to log in. Meristem occupies a multi billion naira towers at ikoyi and would not scam you of 100k. It’s a new account and that’s why it’s taking this long. 2 Likes |

Labdi69: Is like some people just don't understand simple arithmetics, I registered on Sunday paid on Monday and today is Wednesday, how many days is that, u said they have office that worth billions of naira, what is my concern with that? Pls stop being emotional over a clear injustice, other people are complaining of similar issue and you are here saying something else. anyways i am escalating the matter already until I get my money. If they have billions why are they holding on to my 100k change since I told them that I am not interested in their services again, na by force? They told me the account will be working within 24-48hrs and the couldn't meet up, is that not a breach of contract. If that money is with me do you know how much I would have used it to earn? 1 Like |

crownprince2017: You’re being rude to me but I understand so no offense taken. I’m also a new user like you and when i opened my account with them last week or so, it took about 4 days before it was up and running. I understand the frustration of not being able to key into an opportunity you’ve spotted and you’re having to watch the price go up everyday lol. Maybe you are even being protected. That’s how i thought they were dulling me when i wanted to buy dangote sugar at 60 iish or so. When the account was open, i finally got it at 68 naira (including their fees) but how much is it today? I wish they had delayed with my account a little more 😁. I would have bought more units at the current price. Anyways i know things will even out in a matter of weeks. Long story short, calm down. You will regret that refund if it is done because it’s a wonderful platform. If you visit their office physically, you will know that they won’t scam you for 100k 7 Likes |

Giving me loan is now a favour? I don't care about their capabilities, they should refund my money I can't trade where I wouldn't be able to sleep with confidence, money is time and time is money if u are a business person you will have better understanding. I would feel relieved had it been u said they can dash me 500million because they are rich. If they scam 1m people 100k per year because they have properties that worth billions of naira in ikoyi, how would that be. You can see others narrating there terrible experiences with them and many just kept muted looking at you. If u are their agent you better tell them to refund my money as am not more interested in their scam services. 2 Likes |

Kreos44: First of all, the tenor of FGN savings bond is shorter than the FGN Bond (2 and 3 years). Thus, it is matures earlier and you can recoup funds earlier than the bond. Secondly, the amount required to invest directly as an individual in FGN savings bond primary market auction is lesser (from N5,000 to N50,000,000) than that of FGN Bond which is from N50,000,000 and above. Thirdly, coupon payment for savings bond is quarterly as against the biannual payment for the FGN Bond. So it is you do more regular plans with the coupon of the savings bond. Also, that rate s/he got it was the prevailing market rate as at the time that investment. Rates were generally low then, even treasury was like between 6-7% for 365 days. Though the FGN Bond rates are usually higher because the tenure is longer and the amount required for investment is higher. The rates of FGN Bond then was not that high too. Maybe s/he thought she will be able to wait till the end of the 3 years without considering that s/he may need that money for other invest. That said, the rates for this month's savings bond auction was slightly above 11% for 2 years and above 12% for 3 year tenor savings bond. 4 Likes 1 Share |

crownprince2017: To open a new CSCS account takes 24 hours during weekday before CSCS will approve it and if the account was created after 12 pm or 1 pm, it might take 36 hours. These times are subject to you providing names that match your BVN and bank account No. If the names you provided do not match the name arrangement in your bank account or BVN, the account will not be opened and in that case, the stockbroking firm has to send your KYC to CSCS for manual account opening, which can take 1 day to 3 days depending on their relationship with CSCS. To onboard you on their software and create an in-house account for you can not take more than 20 minutes, it also depends on the number of requests they have. Thirdly, your account opening can be delayed when they have not seen your money in their account, Although you have sent your proof of payment, the account department and internal control have not seen the money and they have not approved it. I will advise you to give them time. Meristem is one of the big stock broking firms in the country. 3 Likes 1 Share |

^^^ Lol. So una plenty like this? If to say someone had answered him, you would have allayed his fear and wouldn't have thought he was scammed. @Ogunjide2004 You sounded like a rep of Meritrade. We expected that broker's reps should also be in this platform to address people's concerns, especially sensitive ones. We know Meristem is a very big firm, but your customer relations is very poor!! If you had replied him, he wouldn't have come online for it to be addressed. Try and communicate this to your management, that you have terrible customer service and there's the need to sit up before some people starts to pack their bags and leave your arena. Ask some popular big brokers that are now begging investors to come and open account with zero fund today.... @Crownprince , you too calm down and give them time, if your concerns aren't addressed in another week's time, escalate it here so I can personally take it to BAT and SEC DG for you. Blvd we can now face our biz here.... 4 Likes |

UBA Profit takers activities....... Opened on full bid @16.65........ That's one thing with banking stocks, if it were to be other sector, the full bid would have lasted for at least 3 days to a week....... But UBA is still going up anyway.........when they're done taking profits, they'll start jumping back in.... I think anyone in UBA should not join them to sell, you may end up picking it higher again.... |
